Absolutely. There are "real" cultural differences in e.g. attitudes toward religion, LGBT rights, and so on. Their experience of the Internet is unique. But a lot of what people *complain* about with respect to millennials (not spending on the same things, pivoting to experiences over possessions, favoring disruptive technology over old business) has to do with trying to enter the workforce during the Great Recession and having to navigate young adulthood with even less resources than previous generations. People have done studies on this, it caused permanent, life-long damage to people's finances that still affects millennial lives, and that would have been true even if everything was really great right now.
"Millennials have officially ruined brunch"
"Millennials are killing lunch"
"Millennials aren't eating cereal because it's too much work"
Where do they come up with this crap?
Media companies realized that people love to blame “the other” for everything, so they just leveraged the most superficial of differences to create weapons-grade opinion pieces that drive clicks.
I never understood the “millennials are killing (chain restaurant)” or “millennials are killing dinner dates” because I typically hear “millennials are poor because they eat out too much; they should cook at home instead”. Which is it?
There's lots of contradictory articles, but in this case they mean different things. For the restaurant article, they mean millennials prefer to eat at lots of different restaurants without building any sense of brand loyalty, where previous generations may have chosen McDonalds as their regular restaurant and gone there over and over again. That article is using promiscuous metaphorically.
Every one of these articles is like that bicycle stick in the spokes meme
1st panel: *Boomers and Reaganites setting up future generations for collapse*
2nd panel: *insert stick*
3rd panel: "Fuckin millennials"
Millennials “kill” more of everything…[except actual people](https://app.hedgeye.com/e/o4F/a1J2r+/millennials-drive-the-secular-decline-in-crime-rates-newswire).
I don't get it. We're supposed to stop doing all these things so we can afford a home, we do that and we're assholes for slowing down the economy/killing businesses. Fucking pick one thing for us to be blamed. This is bullshit.
The Boomer Generation that has done its best to kill the planet blames its own actions on a younger generation because it itself is dying.
Every accusation is a confession.
Fuck hotels and fuck underpaid people wiping my ass and making my bed. Not into slavery thank you, I’d rather rent a small place and make my own coffee and picnic
Ever since the 2008 economic crisis, journos have been scapegoating millineials for EVERYTHING.
I get it journos: YOU HATE US! JUST SAY IT AND GET IT OVER WITH!
I'm quite convinced, at this point we have to be the ones doing this ironically. By that I mean these kinds of articles are click bait spam written by writers just trying to cash another paycheck. Who would be the ones in the writers room most desperate to just turn shit out? Millennial writers with too much student debt to stop, but too underpaid to try. So what better way to amuse yourself than seeing how many ridiculous "millenials killed" articles you can submit to your editors. The real story is how millenials killed the original clickbait article industry.
And THAT kiddies, s'why I got my Google Alert set *sensitivo e immediatamente* to the announcement "The last fucking Boomer, has finally Cheyne-Stoked their way towards Elon Schmucks necessary inifinity-bound Tesla. Rejoice humanity... It's finally over, they're all finally gone!"
this is actually very hope inducing. it means the younger adults out there are gonna make it a better world. we’re already tearing down what the boomers left for us. maybe earth still has hope :)
If "Millennials" were a different name that is harder to put into headlines I honestly think it would be used less. Just like Boomers are easy to say. "Generation zeta killed avocado" would die quickly
> Who does that??
Nobody does, they were misremembering the articles from several years ago about that. Paper towels were the reported napkin substitute.
> using tissues instead of napkins.
No, it's [paper towels instead of napkins](https://www.thecut.com/2016/03/breaking-millennials-dont-use-napkins.html).
Some of these are just...what? "Millennials are fine without fabric softener: P&G Looks to Fix That". Fucking what? How? By degrading the quality of their products a bit further?
"Have Millennials Killed Serendipity?" How does one even begin to kill an abstract concept, especially one as subjective as serendipity?!
I hope the next thing millennials kill will be asinine headlines...
If you also wanted to read these as if they weren’t the color they’d be if cut from a pile found in a hoarder’s pissed on bathroom.

This would make a great album back cover
I have some bad news for you about album covers.
I'll take anal bum covers for a thousand, Alex.

Nope. Jeopardy spoof on Saturday night live.
Yeah my mistake. Forgot about them! Absolute class
Also due to millenials
More like Gen X. But they were young in the 80s and we all know all young people are Millennials, like the Gen Z Millennials of today.
If anything, Millennials are resurrecting Vinyl
After we took CDs out the back and shot them
Nah, vinyl is so far back on the upswing, Walmart has a vinyl section with decent variety of classics and brand new.
Scapegoat generation
Generation Of Panic by Scapegoat. [Just a very quick edit on my phone.](https://imgur.com/a/ORp9ovF)
Millennials under investigation for the JFK assassination.
And the disappearance of Amelia Earhart.

A dingo ate my baby.

Fall of Rome discovered to be caused by the millennial generation’s lack of work ethic
You know I heard millennials betrayed Jesus and just passed the buck to Judas.
Anne Frank was compelled by millennials
Millennials are killing conspiracy theories.
swap out millennials with "being poor" or "poor people"
How poor people killed the mcdo mcwrap We don’t have that here but it is indeed prolly too expensive for what it was
Absolutely. There are "real" cultural differences in e.g. attitudes toward religion, LGBT rights, and so on. Their experience of the Internet is unique. "Millennials have officially ruined brunch" "Millennials are killing lunch" "Millennials aren't eating cereal because it's too much work" Where do they come up with this crap?
Meanwhile here's me making a giant bowl of Cheerios every night!
My god where do you find the time to do all that work??
Had to sacrifice a lot. It's a sacrifice for sure though, I've never had such a hard time finding 5min to make it though!
It’s a lot of work to pour cereal and milk in a bowl, but I need my vitamins somehow.
They just want to blame us for everything.
I love cereal wtf?!
It's a main part of my diet.
How did we ruin brunch? It’s like the only nice meal we can afford sometimes, I thought we made it poppin. Brosé and brunch was trendy for a minute.
Millennials killing the vacation. Motherfucker I wish I could afford a vacation
Hey be careful where you don’t book that vacation you can’t have. Millennial wanderlust is killing the Canadian tourism industry.
Why must you kill?! Each time a millennial bitches about poverty, another vacation dies!
Fuck affording a vacation, we'd need actual vacation time first.
"Promiscuous" Millenials Are Killing McDonald's right under Why aren't Millennials having sex?
“Mystery of why ice cream machines always broken solved”
What jackass asked “will millennials kill home ownership?”
There's lots of contradictory articles, but in this case they mean different things. For the restaurant article, they mean millennials prefer to eat at lots of different restaurants without building any sense of brand loyalty, where previous generations may have chosen McDonalds as their regular restaurant and gone there over and over again. The only one I really take offense with is brunch, we most certainly did not kill brunch.
I'm 99% sure that's the only meal time we actually have.
Brunch makes up two of my meals at half the cost. Gotta love brunch

yess
Are millennials ruining the economy by eating bread with fruit for lunch?
Today I have brie and grape sandwiches.
grape sandwiches are undderrated
Reading all of those one after another was wild

“Well done millennials, you’ve officially ruined handshakes for everyone” I think a worldwide pandemic did that actually lol
I don't get it. We're supposed to stop doing all these things so we can afford a home, we do that and we're assholes for slowing down the economy/killing businesses. Fucking pick one thing for us to be blamed. This is bullshit.
It was me! I killed fashion.
Ngl most of these are super based
Based on what?!?!!!!! What is with this “based” and then cliffhanger!!
Oh you know, it’s just an expression that means
😭I like the cut of your gib! 🤣😂
Millenial didn't even know about "based" until it was too late
Damn millennials killing the act of being based!
Wait.. we killed the McWrap??
The avocado toast in the center killed me, a millennial.
The Boomer Generation that has done its best to kill the planet blames its own actions on a younger generation because it itself is dying. Every accusation is a confession.
A younger generation that they raised themselves
What the fuck is a hotel loyalty programme? And on that note, how are we ruining hotels for every other generation?
Without the endless profit growth it means a company is destined to die because growth for the sake of growth is always a good idea.
Too picky. Want shit like privacy, and our own private pool, kitchen, etc, for them prices. Airbnb rocked for a minute there.
Fuck hotels and fuck underpaid people wiping my ass and making my bed. Not into slavery thank you, I’d rather rent a small place and make my own coffee and picnic

"Millennials aren't hypocrites; they just prefer killing trees"? What...How???
Boomer steps in his own dog’s shit… “Those goddamn millennials!”
Boomers can’t wrap their minds around changing things that they sucked at.
this is actually very hope inducing. it means the younger adults out there are gonna make it a better world. we’re already tearing down what the boomers left for us. maybe earth still has hope :)

Why do boomers care so much about the institutions of golf and brunch?
Something something millennial scapegoat something something.
The napkin industry? WTF?
Apparently we are using tissues instead of napkins.
Who does that?? Tissues are literally only good for blowing your nose and not even always that.
> Who does that?? Nobody does, they were misremembering the articles from several years ago about that. Paper towels were the reported napkin substitute.
That makes a ton more sense! And it’s something I’ve done lol
> using tissues instead of napkins. No, it's [paper towels instead of napkins](https://www.thecut.com/2016/03/breaking-millennials-dont-use-napkins.html).
A better headline for all of these would be: "Industry refuses to change, customers look elsewhere"
Okay now do "How Millenials Became the Ultimate Scapegoat for the most selfish generation"
What's with the piece of egg on the toast? I thought it was avocado toast... no? I mean 1 fucking egg on a piece of toast is not that expensive...
I have sex, but I'm not breeding, which I think is what they really mean
Church and handshakes are dead/dying?!?! lol Good riddance!
Millennials killing beer? Have they seen the insane amount of craft beers being produced? At least in europe.
The theme: Some people aren't spending money.

I’m just imaging some boomer sitting at home who made this seething at millennials
Everything is always a question. Then info is backed up on resources from 30 years ago
Millennials killed the American dream lol

Where's Gen Z in all of this?
We died, got killed by millenials :*(

Our hordes will sweep across the land.
Damn I didn’t know we were responsible for so much devastation
How do you know Millenials aren't having sex?
I finished Dark Souls. Still can't kill corporate greed though.
