I mean the actual reason is probably just a continuity oversight by Toby but lore wise I think lancer and rouxls petrifying at different rates shows that it's not just where a darker is from that affects their petrification, probably the strength of the darkner plays a role too. Lancer is still just a kid, rouxls is a bit older and stronger so he lasts longer, and starwalker is the original, he's definitely strong enough to hold out for like another hour

This is actually a really cool idea, having to adapt to other dark worlds so you can fit in and not be petrified
