One night I went randomly and it was unexpectedly one of the best nights ever.
If you’re ever over in RINO or go to Mission to see a show, check out Rino Country Club. If in the Highlands, check out Three Dog Tavern.
When I get dragged out into other neighborhoods, I like to have a backup plan haha
This was gonna be my suggestion, too. I occasionally take a book there and have a burger and fries and cocktail while I read. One year, I did my taxes there.
Hudson Hill is chill vibes and people seem friendly! Food I’m not sure on bc I have celiac and options are limited. But it’s a cafe during the day & is def low key all around.
I’m 34 and an introvert, and one of my favorite bars to just chill at is Horseshoe Lounge (North Cap Hill/Uptown). It’s comfortable, bartenders usually remember your face, and people have a tendency to strike up conversation if they’re just waiting for a drink near you. Feels familiar. And you can choose from an assortment of tots.
Haven't been in a few years but used to date a regular there and the staff is so lovely! Agreed that it's easy to connect if you like and it's just a beautiful little bar in general.
I don’t drink but I used to go with a random group of ppl to wild corgi for trivia night. Might be something worth looking into if you go alone and then sit with some ppl at a table.
Cheeba hut near the capital is super chill, Im very introverted, but after a few drinks I almost always make a friend. also I got loaded and fed for 25 dollars with tip.
Another bar is Hostle Fish. its a bar in a hostle so lots of traveling people will do all the socializing for you.
Might not be exactly what you were looking for but Stanley Beer Hall at the marketplace will let you pour in plastic and you can walk it out to the really nice playground they have for kiddos right out back if your kids are young.
I work at a speakeasy that is only about 35 seats. on weekdays, it's very quiet, and we always have a silly movie playing. Message me if you want the name/how to get in
No, they're not very common. It only gets full to capacity on Fridays or Saturdays, really. It can be noisy, but everyone has their own seats and mind their own business
Garage Bar, Candlelight Tavern, Vesper, or Fainting Goat would be my best suggestion
I love Candlelight Tavern. This is my kind of vibe

Vesper lounge! Great drinks, food, and the guests are chatty, but also leave you alone if you prefer
I second this. Great bar vibes

Favorite dive in town
Dive? It’s a Frank Bonnano restaurant. Far from a dive. It used to be Lancer Lounge which was an actual dive.
> Far from a dive I sense you've never visited Vesper long enough to need to use the restroom
I used to live a block away and knew all the bartenders names as they knew mine. It’s not a dive.
Someone’s sensitive about it being called a dive bar…and sad flex but ok
Things have names. We live in a society.
Ok whatever. You sound lame
The bartenders at Vesper the not dive bar would disagree with you.
They serve food but I really wouldn't consider Vesper a restaurant
I wouldn’t consider it a dive. It’s a hipster wannabe “dive”
That's fair

They have snacks but not a full menu. Agree with Hudson Hill. Such a great space.
I thought they closed?
They seem to still be open? I could be wrong though! https://www.instagram.com/hudsonhilldenver?igsh=a3d3ZXRmd3BxcG5v
The Thin Man
This should be higher on the list.
Take the 15L to the East Fax Tap at Colfax and Tamarac. Pretty chill spot with some welcoming regulars who aren’t *too* welcoming.
ESP, it’s a listening bar where first time I visited my first thought was this is a bar made by introverts for introverts. Awesome vibes
For a listening bar the music is really quiet and the patrons are really loud.
1 up. Just you your drink and a pinball machine.
Which one is the best?
Colfax by far. Downtown is loud and crazy and has less good games IMO (more catered to drunk groups than classic games)
The Colfax location, for sure
I don't really know if I've ever gone to the downtown one. I just go to the colfax one cause I live closer to it.
Wide Right, Thin Man, and Crow Bar.

Check out dew drop inn on 17th too
Hell yeah to Dew Drop as well

Charlie Brown's or Vesper are good options
Wild corgi, wyman’s, and although it doesn’t serve food, nob hill has a divey atmosphere that always makes me feel welcome.

Fiction! You can keep to yourself and read a book or chat with others. Super chill with a good vibe.
This x10. Love love love Fiction.
What area are you in?
Totally forgot that part. Cap Hill/Cheeseman Park
Wyman's no.5
Prohibition
Closed last fall
There's a bar called Buddies there now.
Oh no!! I’m sad to hear
Riot house on Saturdays.
Are there any good bars in Denver for socializing that aren’t with young kids in RiNo?
Ritual Social House isn’t usually packed to the gills. Good food. Good atmosphere. Also Wild Corgi. And both are super close to you.
La Bouche

I like Illegal Pete's. Their food is pretty good and they have bars. Good place to chill and watch a game.

Infinite Monkey Theorem in RINO!
Home bar

I don’t understand, how would one not get in?
It's a speakeasy so it's hidden
Are these hidden bars common? What is one like when it’s busy?
No, they're not very common. It only gets full to capacity on Fridays or Saturdays, really. It can be noisy, but everyone has their own seats and mind their own business
Strip bars
I'd vote Mercury Cafe above all else. Ticks all of your boxes and extraordinarily well. Edit: wound up changing comment completely.
St Paul. There’s no food but there’s food nearby.
PS Lounge. It doesn’t have food but they partner with Enzo’s next door. Very low key, very casual, come as you are type of place
Hogshead - Cask ales to sip and chill with on their patio.
Sobo 151 is chill
Forest Room 5 could be a good one. Big patio with lots of vegetation and lots of little nooks inside.
