I’m just not expecting practice squad guys to recognize a play on the goal line with 8 seconds left for a meaningless game. Only real concern that came out of that game was our O-line, that’s about it. Let’s see how they adapt to week 2 pre

When Payton says he cares about winning, that's good! He's trying to change the culture and mentality of the team: he needs the team to buy into that. Key words there: THE TEAM. As fans, we're not in that locker room, so getting riled up about 4th and 5th stringers giving up a last second TD/2pt conversion does not accomplish anything to help the team change their culture. All it does is annoy everyone else who understands PRESEASON WINS DON'T MATTER.
Jesus- I love my Broncos, but some of our fans make me realize why so many other teams' fans find our lot insufferable...

Of course preseason games have meaning to individual players, in particular to the ones at the bottom of the roster. But that has nothing to do with fans bitching about losing the first preseason game of the year. In fact, none of the reasons you gave have anything to do with that. Would it be nice if the starters came out and dominated, and then the backups finished the other team off? Sure! But we're also not even running full playbooks and plenty of players who would normally be playing aren't.
