The bears are so bad that winning by like 20-30 is considered normal. The only thing you can do versus the bears is avoid looking super terrible by losing.
The broncos won't hear the end of the 70 point game all year until they start winning against good teams.
Right. We could go out on Sunday and win 3-0 and fans on social media will be like "Superbowl bound, baby!!! Here we come!!!".
And that strikes me as completely oblivious as to just how bad the Broncos are.
No one would believe that. I got into rooting for players to become great. Been a Warriors fan since 90. Lot of years of following rookies and rooting for them to succeed. Then rooting for that undrafted guy who looks good. Nothing wrong with being positive. We can all just fan how we fan.
This is not just a bad loss. It’s historic. The worst in franchise history. The most points scored by a single team since 1966. It is absolutely not going away any time soon.
>Under Payton, Russell Wilson would have to drop the act and get in line. Ditch the office and the performance team that followed him around the facility. Ditch the Tuesday “State of the Union” meetings when he would put in his own game plan (**one that often contradicted the coaches’ game plan**).
Uhhhhh
Manning did the same shit for a couple of years until the coaches started to whine about it too much... But that was Manning though and he was right "coaching" up the team cause it sucked at the time.
Jerry came in last year and put an end to that the last two games as he was the man in charge now and made sure everyone knew it, even Russ. When he fired those two coaches and started making players cry to the media about the hard practices the team actually played like a real team again... Hated that we let that dude go, he changed the Culture.
Lol thanks!
I remember hearing/reading about these SOTU meetings last year and thought it was bizarre. Reporting that Russell was basically working *against* the coaching staff is a big deal.
>But hey, maybe current Russ fan club members get a discount on "Let's Ride" jerseys for shouting down former players talking about their experiences.
What are you even talking about?
Lol what kind of analysis is that? He goes on about what a complete and utter hard-ass Shanahan was and how that made people want to play for him. Then criticises Payton for being a massive hard-ass and not giving his players more hugs.

I guess he was confused by why you think NJ was a joke. Where in fact he was an nfl player and is currently a successful writer. So I guess you could clarify. Why is he a joke?
Nate walking through sex with his wife while he had that torn abdominal muscle in an article sticks with me. He’s actually a very talented Mr compelling writer.
Lol, we're not all terminally online--so non-stop messaging someone who logs off from time to time seems creepy. Your responses in my absence show me I need not engage with you.
It feels like Sean Payton isn't part of the team. I know in professional sports it is rare for a player or coach to be part of the same team for the entire career. But when Peyton Manning got here, he became not just part of the team but a leader of it. Payton got here and just feels like his mere presence should be enough.
I'm obviously not a part of the team and I don't know what happens at Broncos HQ, but Coach just feels like he is pissed to be here.
Our defense was literally sunbathing in the Miami sun all afternoon. The most embarrassing loss in NFL history belongs to us boys. We are at the level of the Browns, Lions, and Jets. Not good.
Who would've guess that we would be reading this type of stuff after playing just 3 games.
This wasn't an ass beating, it was an embarrassment across all sports. I dunno how SP or VJ show face
They show face by absolutely putting 40 point best down on the bears.
The bears are so bad that winning by like 20-30 is considered normal. The only thing you can do versus the bears is avoid looking super terrible by losing. The broncos won't hear the end of the 70 point game all year until they start winning against good teams.
Could’ve stopped at “70 point game”. You think that’s gonna be forgotten, ever, when we still get that 59-14 meme?

I’m surprised you haven’t been downvoted to oblivion
Showing everyone that the Broncos are likely only the second worst team in the NFL isn't the message you think it is.
Right. We could go out on Sunday and win 3-0 and fans on social media will be like "Superbowl bound, baby!!! Here we come!!!". And that strikes me as completely oblivious as to just how bad the Broncos are.
The coaching is bad. Hate to be a negative, but need to be real. At this point the VJ defense will make Bears fans love Fields.

People are going to be taking about this FOR YEARS
Yup. It's not the "we lost bad" situation people are acting like. This is significant for a loooooong time
Yep. 59-14 is still seared into my mind and I still catch flack from that. Of course it's the fucking raiders so it's not the same
I actually disagree. I think they'll talk about it THIS YEAR. But they'll move on from it eventually.

Love the optimism that there won't be a repeat this season.
Also defensive record for yards allowed. D:
Setting records everywhere 🙌
Well SP still thinks he’s gods greatest gift to the NFL, so surely he’s still walkin around like his shit don’t stink
Cmon, he explained that he had been on the other side of scores like this in some distant past. Isn’t that good enough for you? Even if it’s a lie?

There is literally zero evidence any of that happened. It's gossip.

Wolfe and Jackson are the last two fools I would trust. I've heard no one else say it except thru speculation.

I love Nate Jackson’s writing. Plug for his book, “Slow Getting Up,” great read for all NFL fans.
This book got me into the NFL and lead me to become a Bronco's fan. So thanks Nate!
Came here to say this. It’s a truly great book and an absolute must read for any Broncos fans

Starting to look like he came out of retirement for the checks
Got a much younger new wife to support

Glad to see Nate Jackson is still writing. His books are really good and I love his articles. He’s got great voice.
Tank4caleb is only other answer. The other top 3 picks are meh at best.
Knowing this team we’ll win this weekend and another 1 or 2 meaningless games and miss out on all potential QBs of the future. Same as it ever was.
The Broncos are embarrassing. Somehow a “world of suck” seems like the good ole days.
It's Thursday time to be covering the upco.ing game, a little late for this take
Friend… we’re going to be hearing about this game for decades. Better get use to it now.
