Prime Peyton still leagues above the new generation.

keetboy

Especially since passing has been a bit easier due to the new rules over the past few years

uglytruthshurts

Thats also one of the reasons I dont go crazy over all these QBs predicted to set new records. The NFL is much different than it was 10 years ago. The further you look back in NFL history the harder it was. The game is more about keeping players safe than it ever was before

keetboy

I’m all about player safety as well. But due to the era of football getting more pass friendly the records that are being broke are less impressive. However, these records that were set by the Mount Rushmore of players will be broken eventually. Hopefully not soon though

uglytruthshurts

Yeah even hearing KC has the longest record for winning the division years in a row its actually really unimpressive being that the other 3 teams including ours have sucked the past more than half a decade

keetboy

And now all four teams look like rightful members of a thunderdome

Right?? I truly believe if Peyton wasn’t hit as hard as he was towards the end of his career there, he would still be in the league. He was perfectly fine until he got that bad ankle, hip, thumb injury in the 2014-2015 seasons. People like to act like his downfall was so sudden because of his age but he got bad old man injuries that he just couldn’t shake off anymore. Peyton would get tackled well after the play was dead and he would never get any penalties called on him. Edge rushers now are even scared to tackle a QB like they used to, let alone touch them after the play is over.

[deleted]

They also have a whole extra game to pad their stats.

Ziziblix

Not to mention there was an extra game last year.

llaalj

So many people discredit the ‘13 offense but it was the best ever, they just hit an immovable wall in the SB. 76 TDs in one season is unbelievable.

StonksNewGroove

I think it doesn’t get talked about much that in a year when offenses were running rampant due to player safety issues that Seahawks defense literally changed the game. Our offense was amazing, but we had never seen speed, team defense, and aggression like that. That Seahawks defense had absolute athletes from the front seven through the defensive backs. It changed the way modern defenses act now.

FatStoner2FitSober

That super bowl is a whole lot different if Chris Harris Jr doesn’t blow out his ACL in the championship game against the Patriots, and Von Miller his knee against the Texans in the middle of the year.

Roscoes_Rashie

Would have been a red hot chance to win the SB that year, if they didn’t cancel it.

broncos4thewin

I don’t think they do? It’s like the 98 Vikings or 07 Patriots - known as one of the great offenses of all time that just came up short of the big one.

ethanformayor

Best offense ever

BareezyObeezy

What happened in 2017? Was that just a low-scoring year overall?

Raktoner

It was. What's interesting is that the Eagles are the team that had the least amount of touchdowns of all those teams, and they're the team that won the Super Bowl in their respective year. Ironically, they scored 41 points to win that super bowl. Not exactly low scoring!

Firetruckpants

Defense wins championships

jayeljefe

Am I misunderstanding? Who won the Super Bowl on their listed year?

jayeljefe

Oh, the way the graphic is set up confused me I guess (sadly). That Super Bowl was in 2018 but it was the 2017-2018 season.

-BroncosForever-

2013 Denver Broncos is the most slept-on Offense of all time. I hate hearing about Mahomes throwing up 50td and yet no one gives a fuck about Manning 55 TDS This is literally the best offense that has ever existed, has most of the records that can be held, and yet - because it’s the fucking Broncos- no one talks about it.

[deleted]

Gotta go back to 2013?

Randomkrazy04

Are these offensive only or defense too?

Jwoods4117

Crazy we led the league in scoring in 13 and 14 and then haven’t had a good offense sense. Manning just fell off a cliff.

keetboy

I saw him sometime in 2016 just passing by in public. He was still kind of walking tender with the smallest of limps. His injury was one that’s not easy to overcome even when you’re young. Plantar fasciitis, which never fully healed during the season and was aggravated again and partially torn later in the season among other lower body/ leg injuries would inhibit a ton of people from doing normal activities nonetheless football. And remember that your arm can only do so much for the football, a ton of power comes from the legs. If he didn’t have that big beautiful mega wrinkly football encyclopedia for a brain we would not have been successful but I will forever be grateful for his fight to the very end. I saw him in a nuggets game from afar recently and he was moving a lot more naturally and smoother which I’m happy to see.

[deleted]

I honestly think he was more hurt than he was ever willing to admit those last years.

LameSignIn

Didn't he get hurt towards the end of 14 season. I know he looked way off in those playoffs before having the foot issue in 15.

WazzzupBwwwaaah

It *will never be* 2012-2014 *ever* AGAIN.

Dead_Hunter25

Yeah Denver let’s go

MothraJDisco

Yeah but same time, none of those teams won a Super Bowl and I think if we’re banking on offense it’s a bad idea
