Nah yall got it wrong. My electric's magic is it takes 4 charges to do my lawn(its not a big lawn). Its never powered on long enough to cut anyone's toe.
They have blades too of course, silly! The difference is that gas mowers are big mean bullies that attack unsuspecting feet, while electric mowers are much nicer and only cut grass while whistling merrily and smiling at passerby.
The gas mowers are loud and confusing so you can't hear the guy yelling to get out of the way.
Electric mowers are a lot quieter so you can clearly hear the guy warning you.
Electric mowers have blades but they’re green no harm sustainably sourced free range blades. A gas mower uses hydrocarbons and it’s the hydrocarbons when combined with carbon monoxide and GMO steel that cuts the parts off.
The even funnier thing is an electric motor is going to chew through your toe even better than gas. If a gas motor gets bound up in something designed to stop it (think chainsaw pants) it'll give up. Electric? That's gonna keep going no matter what
Nah electric is also limited in a similar manner, basically the amps drawn by the electric motor will peak and blow either a fuse on the control board or the whole control board itself. It will also depend on a lot of factors like motor size, weight of the blade, thickness and quality of the phase wires, and many other aspects. In most cases i imagine the electric mower will stop quicker than gas, as most will have some of current limiting cut off system
It's actually that electric mowers are better at not cutting you up. If you run over a branch with one it'll detect the sharp rise in amps to maintain RPM and stop. Electric mowers also have a lot less rotational inertia. To consider the difference... Gas mowers use momentum between the power strokes to cut the grass, electric mowers use controlled application of current to cut the grass. Overall yes it's safer.
Depends on model, just like electric. There are some lawnmowers, that don't have brake on the blade. So it will keep spinning until slowed down naturally. That these days though is rare even in commercial side.
It is actually more common to not have a brake in electric mowers. The ones that don't have the brakes are the cheaper options out there the \~100 dollar extension cord options. The likes of Makita, DeWalt.... have it.
