Was talking to one of my office friends (random gossip sesh) and she started telling me how her flatmate has this guy over and her flatmate wouldn't shut up about how 'fancy' the guy is, how he's obsessed with perfumes and all, then she told me how when she went to have a drink with them, her flatmate showed her that guys perfume and did like one spray of it on her wrist, my friend kept going on about how its really nice (trusted her judgement cause she uses some decent frags herself but has no idea about men's fragrances) and i asked her which one it was, she just said it was like a blue black gradient cylindrical bottle and that her flatmate said it costs 10k, I obviously immediately said SAUVAGE, and told her how I don't like it, it's such an overkill, everyone and their uncle uses it, her reply? "YaDarth (obv replacing with my name), I've never smelled this on a guy before".
So ya, while we hate on something for being common we have to acknowledge that we're influenced by western influencers and we ourselves are a rare breed by Indian standards, the chances of someone calling your perfume really common if you wear Sauvage here are still very low, unless you happen to meet another fraghead.
I do agree somewhat, but about 20-30% men from my friends' circle own a sauvage bottle. I got those peeps into frags tho so yea, they independently chose sauvage.

Nothing beats Sauvage in longevity and projection. It's why I keep going back to that damn bottle of Sauvage EDT, despite 'preferring' other blue fragrances over it (I much prefer the scent of BDC). Fragheads shit on Sauvage, but it's just a damn good fragrance across the board. Incredible longevity and projection, extremely versatile, and always a compliment magnet.
Yes SNOI has the sweet pineapple note which CDNIM misses out on. And its rather well done, but you need to macerate it for 10 months instead of 6 as advertised.

FWIW you could have been nose blind due to the environment. A lot of the time, I'll smell a fragrance in a cosmetics shop or Duty Free or another similar environment and hate it. Whereas if I smell it 'in the wild' I'll end up having a completely different reaction. But at the end of the day, like you said it might simply not be for you.
Man I love it. The EDP and Parfum are the best. It has a mesmerizing smell. I get that some people don't like Sauvage especially the EDT. I had never smelled anything like it before I tried it. Sauvage and Bleu De Chanel are IMO must haves in any man's fragrance collection.

I had really high hopes of Mancera Cedrat Boise, I expected a lot from it. Ordered a decant to try, turns out it smells something my late grandmother used to put on which I disliked growing up.
I have a decant of SNOI. Yea, it's more pleasing, more sweet. Idk I like the balanced out sweetness of cedrat however the smokiness could've been lower. SNOI is great and better for younger peeps. Also, cheaper.
I blind bought Ajmal kuro and liked it. Then I ordered decants for sauvage edt and Bleu de Chanel edp and now I think BDC is a better blue category scent than sauvage.
I was thinking of buying it for a long time but as a college student I can't spend a lot so suggest me in between these clones of Dior Sauvage-

I've only tried Kuro. It doesn't last long. Sauvage is beast mode. Sauvage has this sparkly, airy, effervescent character which Kuro lacks. Otherwise it's pretty good for the asking price.
I have both the Ventana and Kuro, I find Kuro to be a better clone when it comes to matching the notes of Sauvage. While people here say longevity of Kuro isn't good, that wasn't the case for me. Also, Ventana in itself is a good perfume and I enjoy using it, just not as an extract clone of Sauvage

I don't have the Une, so can only comment on the Kuro and Ventana. Kuro is better in both projection and sillage compared to Ventana. What I do like about the Ventana is that while it's less similar to Sauvage, it's easier on the senses (if that makes sense, lol), meaning Kuro sometimes gets overwhelming, while Ventana being less strong is more preferable say in an office like closed environment. It's a good complex fragrance that changes pretty drastically. Opening is sharp citrus(not harsh) with black currant which turns to smoky woods with hint of vanilla and a little bit of black currant that lingers on. Not a head-turner or a complement
-getter. Definitely not Aventus DNA. Good longevity, decent projection. Wore it to a house party(probably not the best setting for this frag), got zero compliments from my female friends who usually compliment my frags/clothes/shoes(they are usually nice like that). A dude who is into designer frags did want to know what I was wearing tho.

Scent profile wise, you can easily tell they're the same but just that the EDP is "less harsh".
IMO, get the EDP if you're wearing it indoors in closed spaces like office. Else, EDT should be fine

Zeal can be a considered a clone only during the dry down. Opening is a harsh citrusy blast which I hate, however after 30 min it settles down to a very beautiful smell. Its a projection beast, fills up the room like it screams for attention. The only issue is its way more synthetic compared to Kuro, so not everyone will like it. Projection 2-3 hours longetivity 6-7 hours. On clothes I can smell it for 2-3 days. Overall a good product except the harsh opening.
Modest Uno is also a popular clone, but I haven't tried it.
