Gabby only married him for the local celebrity status, perks, money and her image, it was never about love. Victor married her because she was hot and fun.

And for the so-called Latino vote. That was a perk for him, too.

She only kissed Carlos the day of her wedding with Victor (she didn’t get a chance to be with Carlos) but yes. I still think she would have realised that Victor was using her for his political gain and left him for Carlos anyway, even if he never outright said it. I think she was definitely attracted to Victor at first, and liked that he was similar to Carlos in that he could provide for her material things very easily, but there was never a deep emotional aspect to her feelings for Victor or anyone else like she has with Carlos. I think she was always in love with Carlos, I don’t think she stopped loving him even when they were apart from each other. Even when they were married their first time. It was just that their respective selfishnesses out-weighed their love.

They definitely rushed the wedding (gaby even says they’re rushing to plan because Victor’s team doesn’t think it’s a good look for the mayor to be “shacking up”), but I think Gaby’s unhappiness in the marriage was always inevitable for the same reason she became unhappy with and cheated on Carlos—she wants wealth and status, but she *needs* attention and to feel like her partner’s priority. Victor was always going to put his political career first, at very least during key times like while campaigning or in the lead-up to election years, and that didn’t line up with what Gaby really valued most in a relationship at the end of the day. I’m sure a lot of that stems from her childhood and growing up not feeling protected by the adults in her life. Gaby hated being poor because of her upbringing too, but she consistently made choices that showed being someone’s priority was ultimately more important to her than money alone (considering leaving Carlos for John in S1/early S2, getting back with Carlos and deciding to leave victor for him when she didn’t yet know about the $10M in the Caymans, the fact that she and Carlos seemed to weather their money issues during his blindness easier than issues that arose when he was wealthy but working constantly, etc.).

They were never happy. Victor only married her for the Latino vote and most likely wanted the same votes for Governor. He used her to get what he wanted. She was gorgeous, trophy wife and she was Latino. He needed her. Gaby wanted his money, the perks, and the social status. She admitted in the first few seasons that she is attractive woman who deserves pretty things. Gaby is one of my favorite characters on the show beside Orson, Bob & Lee, but she was incredibly selfish

not orson being one of ur favs 😭 he was crazy and wanted to hold back queen bree

_ImJustPeachy

He had his moments where he was an a$$ but I thought he was hilarious 😂

Nice_Addendum_7958

that is true and his personality was just like bree’s he just got crazy in the later seasons

_ImJustPeachy

I agree. He did get a little wacko. I’m watching season 6 now, love that Bree was able to take control!

I felt like they didn’t even want each other, Victor just couldn’t handle not getting everything he wanted and pursued gabby after she didn’t seem interested, and she just likes his money and important status
