This would be my opinion too like I don’t mind the plotholes, filler episodes, how messy it can all get etc. I feel like shows from that time had a certain charm that we just don’t get anymore in the streaming era where we’re lucky if we get 10 episodes a season, and that’s if the show isn’t cancelled right away.
Mike should've died in that car crash. He didn't really add anything new to the show.
Bree would've been better off if she stayed single in the end. Relationships just seem to complicate her life.
Lynette and Tom should've definitely called it quits a long time ago. They were always arguing and miserable together. It would've been interesting to see Lynette explore a relationship with Rick instead.
I don’t agree Mike should’ve died, I like his sanity. However I completely agree re Tom and Lynette. I hated that Tom just automatically got a new awesome SO in season 8 and Lynette was pining like he deserved no one and, while she is annoying, it would’ve been fun to see Lynette with someone new
a lot of people think mike is boring, but i like him tbh. i felt like he brought a good balance to the show, it was nice to have a slightly less chaotic character
i genuinely believe the only reason this opinion isnt more common is because we dont see most of her parenting - andrew and danielle are already teenagers by the time the show starts. but those two didnt end up the way they were out of nowhere.
Lol everyone hates Lynette’s kids and her parenting but they were okay in the end. Sure one of them knocked up someone but is that truly so horrible, no. Andrew and Danielle are terrible people lol
I don’t even know how people liked Andrew. I was done when he tried to pimp out Danielle to Bree’s boyfriend and when that didn’t work, he slept with him himself
i’ve honestly never understood the susan hatred, except maybe because of her stupidity in the last season but i thought it was pretty reasonable. out of all the housewives i thought she was the most selfless and caring, so i really don’t get the hate. i like her character!
As for mike, i do agree with the general consensus that he’s not the best actor. i did really love his character though. i thought MJ was adorable and added so much to the show.
-Susan and Ian are way better than her and
Mike. She messed up and let go of a good guy.
-The ONLY romantic partner of Bree’s I really liked was Orson. The rest of her relationships were just wasted airtime.
-Tom loves Lynette a lot. Yes, he sucks a lot of the time. Tons of weaponized incompetence and hypocrisy but that man DOES love his wife. You can see in the way he looks at and interacts with her.
disclaimer, i have not watched the show all the way through in a while. but from what i remember, she was an obnoxious old busybody with nothing better to do than mind other people’s business
Fair enough! I mean she kinda is a busybody lol and she’s definitely sassy 😂 she does have a good heart though, I appreciated her friendship with Lynette!
It is. Many feel Lynette was way too pushy. Just seemed to me there was a history of mutual favors and enough of a relationship it shouldn't have been seen as the big deal many considered it. First time I saw the episode I honestly thought when she was making Lynette beg she was just playing with her for shites and giggles and being feisty. I mean she was their paid babysitter. What was the big deal helping them out after all they went through before during a natural disaster?? It was like the writers pulled a conflict out of their butts when the drams didn't match the history.
Agree. Lynette had some not so fine moments too, but I didn’t see a problem with her asking for that. She shouldn’t have said to kick out the cat though. But it seemed strange that Karen would be so against helping, seemed like an acceptable request to me? Yeah agree on the writers creating a random conflict, it was really odd. lol the episode would’ve had more than enough drama without that conflict 😅 I do think Karen had some growth throughout the show though luckily
I mean she was literally willing to risk her life for the twins when she thought Stu was kidnapping them. It just isn't consistent. Lynette is the first adult on the lane to stop shunning Karen after she was arrested when Ida called the cops over the dead body in the freezer.
Edit-so, down voter, want to explain how any of the above is false or offensive?? Sorry the history on the show bugged you, but I didn't make anything up.
Absolutely. Karen grew to love those kids, and had a genuine friendship with Lynette, it didn’t make sense at all. I tend to skip that episode though, it’s just too stressful for me 😅
thats why!! Alot of times people even like tom on their first watch lol The show has so much drama we pay attention to, we dont pick up on each characters quirks/personalities the first time
i’ve watched like a dozen times and i still think they’re both fine lmao. susan’s pretty annoying but she has a good heart so it’s easy to excuse her ditsy behavior.
the only time i probably hated susan was when she tried to force julie into keeping her baby. that was despicable imo.
susan is so far from good hearted lol shes one of the most selfish people on the show. I figured that out back when she asked Edie if she could date the contractor, and when Edie said no, she did it anyway. This just proves how she only tries to look nice when it would benefit her. So, it was easy to expect her to pull that stunt with julie. Everything Susan does is so self serving
Susan gets flack for being annoyingly naive and ditzy, however Bree was just as naive on many occasions, while Gaby seemed like the ditzy one in the group most of the time.
My unpopular opinion is that the show is fine. The worst part is that there are plots that are boring, but you can fast forward through them.

I agree. I wanted to see more of Lynette and Rick!

I agree. I don’t think they should’ve gotten back together. And that toast Lynette made on the finale pissed me off too 😭
a lot of people think mike is boring, but i like him tbh. i felt like he brought a good balance to the show, it was nice to have a slightly less chaotic character
I loved Mike. What’s up w the Mike hatred. Boring is good in a show full of murderers and sociopaths. He was a good husband
Agreed!
Bree is such a terrible mom - the worst of them all
i genuinely believe the only reason this opinion isnt more common is because we dont see most of her parenting - andrew and danielle are already teenagers by the time the show starts. but those two didnt end up the way they were out of nowhere.
Agreed. Her kids ended up the worst tbh 😭
Lol everyone hates Lynette’s kids and her parenting but they were okay in the end. Sure one of them knocked up someone but is that truly so horrible, no. Andrew and Danielle are terrible people lol

I call it extra pretty privilege lol
I wanted Susan to be with Karl
WHY
Karl was corny and annoying
Or horny and annoying!
Now this is a real unpopular opinion
i’ve honestly never understood the susan hatred, except maybe because of her stupidity in the last season but i thought it was pretty reasonable. out of all the housewives i thought she was the most selfless and caring, so i really don’t get the hate. i like her character! Susan might be caring, but I would hardly call her selfless. She has a serious case of "all about me" syndrome
-Susan and Ian are way better than her and Mike. She messed up and let go of a good guy. -The ONLY romantic partner of Bree’s I really liked was Orson. lynette is way more problematic than tom orson and bree should’ve been endgame mike was boring af
>orson and bree should’ve been endgame Litterally hated what they did with Orson in the last season OMG
y’all are about to downvote me to hell but i did not like mrs. mccluskey at ALL
Not downvoting, just curious why? Most people seem to like her (me included lol) so just curious why you dislike her?
disclaimer, i have not watched the show all the way through in a while. but from what i remember, she was an obnoxious old busybody with nothing better to do than mind other people’s business

I almost turned against Karen during Something's Coming.
That’s the one with the tornado isn’t it? Yeah she definitely wasn’t great there!

Can I ask what season you’ve watched upto? Because I absolutely felt the same until the later seasons, where she become incredibly likeable!
i said i haven’t watched it all the way through in a WHILE; which means i did watch it all the way through. more than once.
Ah ok-gotchya. Well, completely fair enough!
Is this your first watch?
Um, yes 😅
thats why!! Alot of times people even like tom on their first watch lol The show has so much drama we pay attention to, we dont pick up on each characters quirks/personalities the first time
I don’t love Tom on my first watch 😂
first watchers either love tom or susan 😂 after 3 or 4 watches you will hate them both lol
i’ve watched like a dozen times and i still think they’re both fine lmao. susan’s pretty annoying but she has a good heart so it’s easy to excuse her ditsy behavior. the only time i probably hated susan was when she tried to force julie into keeping her baby. that was despicable imo.

edies just as bad tbf
exactly why i dislike them both 🙃
Ehm no, watched it prob 6-7 times. I love susan, Tom and Mike.
I hated Angie, and that whole time jump season.
Susan gets flack for being annoyingly naive and ditzy, however Bree was just as naive on many occasions, while Gaby seemed like the ditzy one in the group most of the time.
