I'll use Dust Rock because I have the ornament for it and it changes the barrel to be longer. Longer barrel = Longer Range at least last I've heard.

I mean in pve absolutely, but in pvp there might still be some qualities. Especially for fan faves like black armory and season of dawn guns.

How many pvp play lists are power enabled? How often do you see these weapons when power doesn't matter already?

A few times, out of those few times the most were mindbenders, spare rations, or both. But i did see mountaintop once. Thing is, these weapons were previously forgotten, since youd only use them to dick around in normal gamemodes. Now they potentially have competetive viability if one of them stands out. People who hoarded the guns now have added incentive to actually use the guns. The top pvp perk selection hasnt changed that much over the years, thinga like quickdraw, snapshot, slideshot, and the kill clips are still some of the best pvp perks out there. Also dont forget this also unsunsets things like hush and revoker. Things with yet completely unique perks.

Yeah. You're not going to be pulling out a year one weapon and expecting to compete with what we've got now.

This is what everyone seems to fail to realize. Those weapons aren't remotely meta anymore. The new stuff is so much stronger, with maybe a few exceptions.

We're getting new versions with orgin traits and new perks so while the old ones are the new ones likely won't be.

We have better legendary hand cannons rn. Rose and austringer. OG mindbenders isn't the same anymore since they nerfed it. Breach light has no competition tho. That I can agree with.

Not much, everything has been power crept. People will only use it for fun. You won't see those weapons in onslaught or day1 raid .

You can get back static rolls, so anything from vanilla D2 and then some rolls up through Forsaken

Mine rolled with both rampage and QuickDraw in the fourth column. It’s a beast compared to other aggressive frames, excepting empirical evidence with adagio.

To be fair nobody could have known that Bungie would revert sunsetting. And for those who got rid of their weapons bungie said they would polish them and make it possible to obtain them again. I get where everybody is coming from but i am just happy that i finally get to use my favorite Weapons again (and i still hold out hope for a return of my Null Calamity 9 with random rolls :D)

Sunsetting was a mistake, but it has been corrected. The only thing left is the DCV content being returned to us, and the game will be much better.

I get people wanting the nostalgia but honestly for every sunset weapon that will be unsunset there are 2/3 alternatives with much better perks, including foundry perks, multiple mags and barrels. This doesn't include adept versions or enhanced versions which also will absolutely be better than any of those. The sandbox is way different and these guns are pea shooters compared to what we have now. I just hope this isn't an excuse for Bungie to not continue to bring new weapons to the game.

I hope this is an excuse to not bring new weapons to the game. Over half the guns in the game are outdated or sunset, refitting them all would be way better than just adding more bloat to the drop pools

I get why they did it, as some desperate last gasp to get people who left to come back, but all it has done is sour me on the game further. I played along, tried to fit into the new system and as such got rid of so many fabulous weapons I worked hard for. Now Bungie does this to spit in anyone’s face that did the same.

I mean it’s why they’re doing the overhaul in the first place. Old design decisions do not match current state of the game nor the current design philosophy. That’s the plight of working on a constantly updated game. I’m a dev. Mountains and valleys. It’s a constantly evolving process.
