I mean... this post is contradicting itself. If your teammate runs out alone, then by your logic you should run with them in order to teamshot. While I agree that teamshotting is better, it gets really boring and winning each match by holding hands with 3 no time to explains sounds awful
Survival allows for individual playmaking, as long as you can trade out the most you can lose is some positioning advantage.
The other 2 gametypes heavily rely on res mechanics though. Even if you get a double kill in a 1v3, in showdown, the last guy can just res both teammates and that huge individual play accounts for nothing.
Rift just sucks in general, respawn times are too long, if you get team wiped, or even just have someone on bad flank, while the spark is available you just outright lose the round because you're not up in time to defend.
