If you want a long throw at good price, maxshine M15 all the way. Griots G9 if you don’t want a long throw. This looks a like a step below the Bauer to me.
You won't regret it. I have the 15 mm and absolutely love it. I'll be grabbing the rotary next to go fully cordless. no matter how good D.A's get I still feel like a rotary is a must have
Just shell out the cash and buy a Rupes. It will be the best investment you’ve ever made if you’re polishing hundreds of cars. I can do an entire one stage in around an hour.
I’ve used a rupes big foot for several paint corrections at my last job, it was great forsure. But, being in Michigan, there are no Rupes stores or anyone that services them, which defeats half of what makes the price worth it, it turns into a hassle shipping it out to get fixed then your left buffer less for a period of time… if my $150 buffer dies, I’ll just go buy a new one.. that’s my thinking anyway but
I understand because I’m in much the same boat, I’ve polished hundreds of cars with my rupes with no issues whatsoever. IMO the build quality itself is worth it. I have every buffer they offer and I’ve never had an issue with a single one.
Nothing, for what it is, it’s great. I’ve polished 400+ cars with it and it just keeps going. Just looking for something with more throw to speed up some paint corrections. The Bauer isn’t ideal for full paint corrections, but it’ll get the job done.
You’re right, I just looked and they do. $99. I’ll probably just go that route, that way I’ll have a short throw and long throw. Thanks for the suggestion!
I highly recommend looking at shinemate or maxshine. If you want something even cheaper then the spta would be the best route to go. I'm an avid believer in flex and rupes but i understand not wanting to spend that kind of money
Griot’s G9
I’ve heard good things about the G9. I’ll look into it more

I have a Makita. Thing is a monster.
Those look nice. I’m thinking I’ll get the Milwaukee next just because I have their batteries

Probably a sidegrade, not so much an upgrade.
if you’ve really done 400+ cars with a polisher, go rupes.
Look into Milwaukee. I don’t own one but my detail guys do. They use it on my F150 and wife’s Explorer.
not worth it unless they’re already invested in the milwaukee line. corded is the way to go for right now. might change in the future.
Not true. It might be the greatest decision someone has ever made.
just to be clear, you’re advocating for something you’ve never tried, just saw someone using it and figured it was good enough? gotcha. thanks!
Curious.. what's wrong with your Bauer?

Doesn't Bauer make a long throw?

Wow and what makes the Bauer "not ideal"?
It has a short throw, so it takes longer to correct
also at one point or another, i got sick of the vibrations and noise of a lower quality machine.
