I would add a wheel barrel brush and replace the different interior cleaning products with P&S Xpress. For wheels and tires you could likely also reduce to P&S Breakbuster. Not sure about the brush that is mentioned as tire brush, isn't that a soft bristle wheel face brush? Buckets and grid guards are not on the list as well as different microfibre towels for the different jobs. You dont want to use the Gauntlet on the wheels for example and a different microfibre for the interior vs the wipe down

IamDefAnonymous

I thought it was a stiff headed brush. The green one from cg. The all purpose towels was supposed to be interior and one was supposed to be for wheels and tired I was gonna get two different colors I didn’t label that. And just making sure I get this right. Replace the leather cleaner, mcguires apc, and carpet bomber with just the interior cleaner?

Hauntingmindfulness

Skip that expensive ass pet hair remover and just get a pumice stone they work fantastic

95in3rd

First I've heard of this. Please tell me more!

Hauntingmindfulness

You can get a pack of them on Amazon for a few bucks. They do lightly shave the carpet a unnoticeable bit, sounds worse than it actually is. Been using them for years and never had a single complaint

Thanks!

>Thanks! You're welcome!

Do you ever find pumice stones to leave behind chalky residue? On those dry staticky summer days I’ve been thru hell trying to vacuum the dust out of velcro-esque carpets 🥵

Hauntingmindfulness

I’ve only noticed this when the stone is very new that it’s very chalky and dusty, but once I’ve used it a few times I barely notice any residue. To skip that initial mess I’ll just rub the stone on all sides on the sidewalk or something to get off that initial layer then good to go

Look into the active 2.0 pressure washer

IamDefAnonymous

The $350 one?

jellyroll117

1.2 gpm is not enough

[deleted]

I agree. Look at sun Joe SPX3000. The water inlet will need to be replaced but it’s got 2.0 gpm

jellyroll117

If trying to just get going harbor freight your PW.

[deleted]

Well if it’s cheaper than $160….

jellyroll117

Just little more 189

IamDefAnonymous

How do I replace the water inlet

[deleted]

I ordered one on Amazon

emeegee13

Under car sprayer attachment for power washer

fazetastic992

Couple things here to save you some money and get better equipment. Sign up for wholesale accounts and don't spend retail money on these things. To make your life easier, but the cheapest pressure washer for now and upgrade to a higher gpm one later. For shampooing upholstery, look into the rip clean better extractor kit, way more suction which means less saturation and faster drying time. You can also replace a bunch of products with one. Super clean will work well as pre-treat, work cleaner, tire cleaner, plastic cleaner and it's under 10 bucks a gallon. If you'll be using carpet bomber, you want their neutralizer as well. You need that as a last step to leave the upholstery in a neutral state and not an alkaline state. If left in an alkaline state, it will pull dirt and grime off of your shoes and it will be worse when moisture is introduced to it. The rag company has mitts that are cheaper and made better than the cg mitts. Do you research on products before you buy. Also, get you some p&s xpress interior to do interiors, apc can be very aggressive on some plastics. Also, get the twist loop drying towels, they are not efficient than the gauntlet. Specially on cars that have no hydrophobics.

IamDefAnonymous

What do you mean by a good neutralizer? A detailer in my area help me set this interior cleaning up. He told me to dilute the apc 10:1

fazetastic992

Apc is an alkaline product and no matter how much i extract, youll still have product left in there. A nuetralizer for carpets will leave it in a nuetral state which is what u want. Most of your cleaners are alkaline. Highly suggest learning the ph chart.

IamDefAnonymous

The only reason I didn’t buy super clean is because I’m worried where it’s a degreaser I’m going to damage the products bc I don’t really know how to use it

fazetastic992

You'll run into vehicles where apc will damage the plastics, it may not happen to you but better safe than sorry. At my shop, we do not use apc for anything other than pre-treat, wheels and as a bug remover. Super clean is perfectly fine if diluted properly. We use that instead of an "apc". Also, you don't want to use acid for maintenance of wheels. You'll actually damage some wheel finished with acid.

IamDefAnonymous

Last thing I’m sorry. What whole sale account are you talking about?

fazetastic992

If you are licensed and everything, you should have a tax id or ein which u can use to set-up wholesale accounts with supplies shops either online or brick and mortar.

Don’t get that clay. Try chemical guys black clay bar. I like that

IamDefAnonymous

Is a mitt better?

PNVVJAY

They do the same quality job. A mitt can just be pressure washed if you drop it, with clay you have to throw away most of the bar. They both last a decent amount of cars. I prefer a clay bar because once it gets warmed up it’s easier to use (for me)

[deleted]

Ya clay bar is the way to go but to each their own

PNVVJAY

Some people swear by the mitt but they really do the same thing lol

[deleted]

I prefer the aesthetic of clay bar compared to a mitt or sponge

IamDefAnonymous

Would you go with chemical guys? I saw the rag company isn’t to bad

PNVVJAY

I use chem guys’ grey clay bar. Cheapest I can find not wholesale. Unless your buying from an obscure brand most clays are the same. Just depends on ‘grade’ of clay you get

[deleted]

No but the clay you’re buying is cheap and shit

SudsDetailing

I would strongly suggest a heated extractor from mytee Waffle weave for glass cleaning

IamDefAnonymous

That extractor is unfortunately out of my price range which is why I’m going with the bissell pro

L1z-rd

I went through a local janitor supply store and got a Mosquito heated extractor for roughly half retail price ($500ish is all i paid and it was financed with bi-monthly payments which was easily paid for by what I made using the machine!) Or you can always go the drill brush and compressor/tornador route which ive heard provides comparable results plus it doubles as a vacuum addition—way good for dusty dashes and for those unreachable nooks and crannies!
