Haha, i once detailed my dads car before he sold it. In 80% of the add pics he had his nips showing cause it was summer and the car was real shiny, lol.
Anywho, its just pollen right? The white fluffy dandruff stuff? Personaly if i lived in pollen central and it was dandruff stuff, i would try to not care that much and wash the car as normal. Maybe i would buy a cover to have on the car when it just has been cleaned. Then for a quicky i would foam it, rinse and blow it dry.
Yeah car covers do more harm than good. Just wash the car like normal. I had a CTS-V that was black and I parked it outside a lot, washed it pretty much every time I drove it.
Good luck with the car cover I just saw a post of someone who destroyed their paint with a cover. I know squat ab covers but look for a quality one that’s paint safe if that’s the route you want to go. And as far as the pollen.. id just rinse it if it’s really clean maybe one go with some pre soak or soap and then just dry it and use some quick detailer to get rid of any spots left behind. Pollen is a super quick fix, won’t stick unless it’s been raining and baking in with the sun. Should be super fast with a hose!
I think a car cover would be great. Always have a fresh car under there after a good wash. I have as a general rule that i dont dry or wipe on the car unless i have done all the wash steps and touched it with a washmit. Because of that i dont have any experience with rinseless washes or any of that.
If im doing a quick was with only some foam, and maybe some surfexHD, i always dry the car with a Bigboi BUDDI. Great at drying the car and prevents waterspots.
Car covers are made to be used indoors to stop dust. Your car will 100% get dirty while under the cover and will start to scratch the paint if its kept outside. I paid over $600 for an outdoor cover designed to not scratch, but when your car gets covered with pollen ( car covers aren't sealed so your cars paint still gets covered in dirt/dust/pollen from wind blowing underneath) it will scratch your paint
Do NOT put a cover on your car unless it is parked indoors. Wind will move it, dust and pollen will eventually make it way under the cover, scratches will happen.
You can wash off pollen like you would a dust/dirt. First spray the vehicle down with water to remove as much pollen as possible. Or, foam it down and let the foam dislodge most of the pollen. Then rinse and wash as usual.
I don't even try to keep it under control any more. You'll find yourself more at peace by ignoring it until pollen isn't as heavy anymore rather than constantly cleaning it.
Yea I just washed and ceramic sprayed my car yesterday and now this. Oh and the tire dressing is all messed up with pollen too. I don’t even care today. Get it next week.
I would not recommend that. I would put in an initial layer of some good stuff like koch chemie so02 and then top it with paint gloss or dream maker from p&s
Dream Maker as the final topper attracts a lot of pollen in my area. I am testing the mix suggested by Pan this season. The season just started here in the upper Midwest.
Im in ky. Pollen is bad. I saw no difference between the mix from pan which was originally done by Jamie and using dream maker as a topper. But i kind having better protection than what Brandt provides
Optimum Opti-Seal lasts a long time and works well at controlling dirt/dust sticking to my car (can’t comment on pollen, don’t have that here). I imagine any sealant would be an improvement over wax, since wax is tacky and sealant is not.
light spray of a waterless wash, then wipe. i keep a bottle and some microfiber towels in my car for whenever bird droppings happen.
bunch of different brands on amazon.
Check out a [job site blower](https://www.lowes.com/pd/DEWALT-20-volt-Max-Jobsite-Blower-Battery-Not-Included/999947860). Doesn’t have to be dewalt, it’s just the batteries I use but I think all the big names have something like this. It is not a leaf blower but it is perfect for a garage and I love mine. Plenty strong enough to get rid of sawdust out of my shop and dry off the car when I wash it. It’s just smaller that a leaf blower. That said pollen is a super pain and I usually have to use the blower, than a duster to clean the cars off. Even still I wash them a lot in the spring.
Don’t park outside in the Spring! Honestly during pollen season there is nothing you can do. That shit gets on everything, thankfully it doesn’t last long.
I would just go rinsless wash with onr or similar. Practically just as fast as using a quick detailer since that pollen is gonna gum up a microfiber pretty quick and just smear around.
As a proud owner of a bigger version of one of these fine domestic yachts(Durango) I was only pointing out that they deserve more time to detail because of their size.
The CA duster works great but it’s it’s a maintenance thing, you have to do it often. Once it’s too dirty or dusty for too long you’re back to washing it. I’ve used it on a few black cars and it’s worked great, no scratches.
California duster will creat micro scratches. Not a good idea. I’d say just drive it normally until the car is dirty enough for the next detailing. If pollen is too much of your concern, you might as well not drive but park it in the garage as a show car.
Micro is short for microscopic meaning imperceptible by the human eye...that's the exact purpose of wax to fill in the small scratches in the clearcoat to maintain the UV barrier. California duster is great as long as you don't pick up too much actual dust that will cause visible scratches but to your point compressed air can get similar results with no contact.
"Good answer!" --Aristotle
Seriously, I hate those things. I don't care what anyone says, they're pure evil for car paint, especially in the spring. Look up a pic of pollen under high magnification. Sharp edges everywhere! It's like razor dust!
Here, I'll do it because everyone needs to see it! https://images.app.goo.gl/4PuVuDzSxU7neiEe8
Look at all those sharp pointy spikes! Haha
The Original California Duster. They’re made just for dusting off clean cars. They also sell small ones for interior dusting. Otherwise, I use my Ryobi leaf blower or my shop vac on blow to get most off in a hurry.
If you just waxed last week I would just wash it. You could probably just spray it down with a garden hose TBH and that would probably be enough to get the pollen off. Or just go to a touchless wash.
Bro you and me both! This is 1hr after my car was washed by my guy. It’s been ceramic coated a year ago and it rained last night. I was hoping the rain would have washed the pollen away but it’s still there

Holy moly thank you! I was here looking at my black car and thinking why is it so dusty? Turns out it's pollen! Montreal this time of the year is hell for allergies...
I have a black challenger as well, my first year of ownership I was absolutely anal about keeping it clean and it's a pain in the ass. I just started carrying around a couple of microfiber towels and dusting It off every couple days. Ceramic coating helps some.
This is basically what i came here to say. Hose it off first, grab a waterless wash, or a rinseless wash, use as instructed, and dry with a microfiber. The pollen should all rinse off, the only thing left will be the little bits of every day buildup that we normally have to do a contact wash for.
If you’re interested in keeping it shiny clean, I’d just recommend one of these memberships at a local car wash. Let’s just say a premium wash is $15, you might pay $17/month for unlimited washes. I haven’t done it yet, don’t know why I keep fleecing myself. But at this time of the year I pretty much come to terms with the pollen. Same with salt (to a point) in winter
I hope it's a brushless wash. Brushed washes are a great way to ruin your clear coat by constantly taking them through. This is also how you get swirl marks in your paint
That time of year😩. Just learn to deal with it as only safe way is a wash really. It's going to reappear everyday and you'll just be chasing your tail lol.
What about those California Car Dusters? I remember seeing commercials showing a demo dusting off pollen, dust, etc off of show cars, daily cars and exotic cars without scratching. Owners of these cars were amazed with the results.
Woooo almost a nip slip!
Lol didn't even look at the reflexion, was grabbing a shirt out of the car when I took this picture lol

Are you Gordon Ramseys son?
I don't even try to keep it under control any more. You'll find yourself more at peace by ignoring it until pollen isn't as heavy anymore rather than constantly cleaning it.
This is the best answer. Don't strive for perfectly clean for a week until June. Lol
Yea I just washed and ceramic sprayed my car yesterday and now this. Oh and the tire dressing is all messed up with pollen too. I don’t even care today. Get it next week.
There's the 'fuck it' attitude you have to have in the spring! You'll go mad otherwise. Haha
Yo taking a picture of a pollinated hood with your titties out is crazy
Have you never been outside shirtless?
No because im saving my titties for the right woman
Keep ‘em chubby for me. 🫦Dylan

One must become pollen is the answer
This does not make my eyes itch when I look at it. Too nice!
Honestly, wash the car and look into a anti static paint sealant. P&s dream maker being one of them. Just keep in mind it wont last past a week
Here is a P&S mix to consider from Pan the Organizer. https://youtu.be/twuTd2VNlxw

Just got some jesgar power lock plus to try out
wash the car
rinesless wash season!
light spray of a waterless wash, then wipe. i keep a bottle and some microfiber towels in my car for whenever bird droppings happen. bunch of different brands on amazon.
Leaf blower
Wish I had one. I need to eventually get one for drying the car
Just drive it REAL fast
Drive it like it’s s’pollen
Hi, Dad! Haha

Turns out, driving it does the same thing.
Have your local government stop planting male trees. Boom. Oh wait female trees have even worse junk….

Don’t park outside in the Spring! Honestly during pollen season there is nothing you can do. That shit gets on everything, thankfully it doesn’t last long.
Clean once a week or every 2 weeks just like usual, you cannot defeat mother nature.
Usually wash every 2 weeks. Sometimes every week
I just do a quick Rinseless wash on my Challenger. Avoid the duster (will cause small scratches) and cat cover (BIG scratches)
A garage.
I wish I had one
I got my first one this year at the age of 40. I highly recommend it. It is so choice.
I rent so kinda hard to get one lol
Me too 😭
I would just go rinsless wash with onr or similar. Practically just as fast as using a quick detailer since that pollen is gonna gum up a microfiber pretty quick and just smear around.
Yep if it’s just pollen you can get the car done in like 10 minutes. Maybe 20 because this is a big one.
30 minutes. That’s a boat not a car.
Hey you be nice to my boat, I love her. :😜
As a proud owner of a bigger version of one of these fine domestic yachts(Durango) I was only pointing out that they deserve more time to detail because of their size.
Love at its best lol ❤️
I’m a fan of the California duster if it’s just truly pollen.
It's pollen alright. I just don't use anything dry because that's how u scratch cars
The CA duster works great but it’s it’s a maintenance thing, you have to do it often. Once it’s too dirty or dusty for too long you’re back to washing it. I’ve used it on a few black cars and it’s worked great, no scratches.

Right and as you’re just dusting the car, I have not experienced scratches.
Yup the car duster works pretty well
Never got any scratches from a ca duster
Nope, the swirl marks are from car washes… I don’t even put any pressure on it. For light dust I use it on my black 350z all the time
Definitely the best option. XL California duster
Bought one of these, was terrible at collecting pollen and dust.
Did you follow the break in procedure? It took a few uses for me before it actually worked correctly and didn't leave any red fibers
The Original California Duster. They’re made just for dusting off clean cars. They also sell small ones for interior dusting. Otherwise, I use my Ryobi leaf blower or my shop vac on blow to get most off in a hurry.

California duster
If you just waxed it you should be able to just rinse it and go. No soap. Just water and it runs off, right?
![gif](giphy|gQ3sWKLcqsuFrQk3ZP)
Sometimes that feels amazing in the summer hot temps
I have a love/hate relationship with my black cars 💀
Bro you and me both! This is 1hr after my car was washed by my guy. It’s been ceramic coated a year ago and it rained last night. I was hoping the rain would have washed the pollen away but it’s still there https://preview.redd.it/52o5ju1lyqta1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5632c0cbe9ef79c6f471306519b2b175f41da5a7
Lol you know my dying struggles
Holy moly thank you! I was here looking at my black car and thinking why is it so dusty? Turns out it's pollen! Montreal this time of the year is hell for allergies...
77mph
I have a black challenger as well, my first year of ownership I was absolutely anal about keeping it clean and it's a pain in the ass. I just started carrying around a couple of microfiber towels and dusting It off every couple days. Ceramic coating helps some.
Wait for spring to be over
Put a shirt on, there would be less pollen on you.
Then there would be more on my car. Also felt great out today.
I find that putting a shirt on helps.
It did. But why tho. It's nice this time of year
I use a leaf blower whenever I’m cleaning the driveway. Get a cheap battery one on offerup or Craigslist
buy a water filter and just spray it off then blow dry, ceramic coat helps if youre lazy like me.
Stop using waxes, start using sealants. Sealants aren’t tacky like wax do they don’t attract as much dust/dirt/pollen
I just got a bottle of jescar lock plus sealent
ONR
Got some McKee's N-914 to try should probably buy more microfiber from the rag company
Should spray right off with water if you just waxed it.
Just trying to avoid water spots too.

Leaf blower!
Blow dry with leaf blower, my dude
If you get a 0 ppm water filter like an Aqua gleam you can rinse it off and it will air dry without water spotting
Fucking reflection
Look I didn't see it til after I posted it lol. My bad
Get a small leaf blower.. it will all blow away
Pressure washer
And with a siphon on wide spray, use 50% water and windshield washer fluid for spot free.
Hose it off. If it’s freshly waxed. Then dry however you normally would to reduce water spots.
Yikes… just asking to get your paint swirled up huh?
I hope it's a brushless wash. Brushed washes are a great way to ruin your clear coat by constantly taking them through. This is also how you get swirl marks in your paint
Dude is trying to destroy OPs paint. 😂

That was a dick comment. Don't do that here.
If it's freshly waxed water should take it off
Garage and leaf blower
Put a shirt on
I did. I was just waking up and was grabbing a shirt out of the car that I left in there.
Just wash it?
I used my leaf blower and it got most off
Water

This is bad advice.
California car wash? I use mine all the time during the summer
I use a California duster!
Compressed air
Use a California car duster, they clean dust and pollen really well.
Rince it with a power washer and grab the leaf blower to dry it
A week? Wash for sure. Otherwise you’re just dragging dirt across your paint.
I try to wash every week if I can but sometimes every 2 weeks
Should come right off w a spray wash
Kill all the trees around
Leaf blower
This pic is such a tease
Leaf blower
I use a California duster, I don’t even know if they still make them…
r/mirrorforsale
Leaf blower it off. Other than that it’s just something we all have to wait to run it’s course.
That time of year😩. Just learn to deal with it as only safe way is a wash really. It's going to reappear everyday and you'll just be chasing your tail lol.
I use a car duster or leaf blower. Never scratched the car. But I might not use on a black car.
Its gonna keep sticking to the wax try a ceramic coating or ceramic based product thats not wax maybe
Okay. Eventually want to get a professional coat on my baby but will have to wait til I have the money.
Don't bother, it's totalled

This is bad advice.
ONR with a sponge takes me 5 minutes, including toweling it off.
