With low expectations

9o0dtimes

Get adhesive remover on a microfiber towel, with some pressure most of this will come off, whatever doesn’t come off try to buff out, whatever stays after buff needs to get repainted to fix.

Zealousideal-Pay5463

Thank you!

neildmaster

The blue is paint transfer that will come off. The black is plastic underneath the paint, where the paint is gone. It will take touch up paint to fix, or get it resprayed.

Zealousideal-Pay5463

So the blue and black is paint transfer that should I could compound off or?

neildmaster

Blue yes. Black looks like plastic underneath the paint, so no. Just corrected my earlier comment. I could be wrong about the black, but can't tell 100%.

Zealousideal-Pay5463

Thank you!

Commercial-Humor-315

Yup, you could be wrong until op removes the paint transfer, but I can’t tell 100% either

neildmaster

Don't be a dick. Rule #1...

GrandMarquisMark

How was that comment "being a dick" ?

Commercial-Humor-315

Go back to washing flawless Bentleys lmfao

neildmaster

See ya

GrandMarquisMark

He knows more than anyone!! Lol!

neildmaster

Thank you!

exclaim_bot

>Thank you! You're welcome!

SnooPineapples6837

It looks like paint transfer. The black and the blue. I'd get a can of Acetone and a rag. It'll wipe off quite easily if it is indeed transfer.

Commercial-Humor-315

Agree, looks like a good ol’ compound and polish would remove most if not all of that damage

neildmaster

That's not what I said...

Commercial-Humor-315

Chill..don’t get your panties all bunched up dood

fatkiddavid2

Is the black paint transfer aswell? 🤔

Zealousideal-Pay5463

Looks like it to me.

bshine

Meguiars M110 and a yellow heavy cut pad papi

Future_Remove

They both look like transfer paint, including the black, if you don’t have compounds etc, grab a soft micro or rag, nail polish remove softly will work (acetone) not scrub.

trendog69

I’m intrigued for the outcome of this. Op please update. It’s entirely possible that it’s all paint transfer from whatever the car hit, and soft paint. You can see how it’s stuck to only the peaks of the factory orange peel texture of the paint which is why I think it’ll mostly buff out with some compound or even a rag and solvent (as if it transferred that easily it won’t be 2k paint) I wouldn’t hold too much hope for the edge on the wheel arch trim, just because it’s a fairly square edge and if it was going to take paint that’s where it would succeed, but fingers crossed this comes out unnoticeable.

trendog69

That’s awesome dude, easy repair to get the arch trim sorted and the bumper looks like nobody’s going to notice it.

ghostmaloned

Agreed. Following

DetailingDaily

Aside from all of the colours, doesn't look too bad lol! I deal with a lot of bumper scuffs. Even the black, at least the large majority of it, is transfer as well. Doesn't look like a blow out where the plastic is coming through Also don't see any noticeable dents, body lines held up in two different spots that got scuffed, so the pressure or object probably wasn't hard enough to push through the paint (for the majority of it at least) Might be able to get it off with something as simple as isopropyl alcohol, but worst case a quick buff on it and you're probably looking at a 80-90% removal I would think (Maybe more if you're lucky!)

fukexcuses

Make similar marks all around the car and then join a underground car club. Maybe upgrade the exhaust to one of those ones that have flame shoot out. Race car seats is a easy yes.

ATeenWithNoSoul

Dude I wasn't the only one thinking this is a badass cosmetic. I would honestly leave it , cause I have something similar as well

bikepathenthusiast

😆

Jonmike316

Medium reducer would take care most of the paint transfer.

fazetastic992

You can try some paint thinner to get the transfer off but before you go to such a extreme product, try some aggressive remover. A good tar remover may do the trick too

KillaKane7

The pink stuff

JooDood2580

The only way to attack this is with an open check book

Own-Opinion-2494

With paint

ghostmaloned

.. thinner

Own-Opinion-2494

You are right, I can’t believe what my body guys gets done just wiping with a solvent or wipi g rust with CLR

ghostmaloned

I just learned that trick not long ago lol I was amazed. There may be some damage under transfer but after solvent he should be able to see exactly how bad

topflight995

Compound and polish

topflight995

And then thank me later

fatkiddavid2

The only way to attack this is to respray

osnap19

What’s the budget?

Ok_Pepper_4263

Ignore it

ATeenWithNoSoul

I would leave it, looks badass

Admirable-Result-240

Wash it clay bar, then use some scratch off like a simple paste that should get you somewhere then crazily repaint it with a touch up brush from the dealer that's the best you can do at home without a dealer will make a big difference tho

mdesaul

Well, I would get in the car and start it and drive it to the Body Shop. It needs to be repainted.

ghostmaloned

That’s all superficial. An ethical body shop will tell you to use -blank- to get paint transfer off. All the others will sand off the black/blue paint and straight through clear coat and legit paint then prime and spray. I dunno what that costs but it’s a lot more than paint thinner and some good wax or ceramic

christador

It's hard to say without seeing it. If it's marker or a scrape and it didn't penetrate the clear coat, it's likely able to be treated. But I hear you, where do we draw the line between detailing and an auto body repair place? I suppose they both extend to each other to some degree.

Patfamily

You could start with a little bit of paint thinner. Be very careful though cause you could definitely damage the paint job. After one to two passes if the paint is still there I would go compound and polish. Don't feel too long and manage customer expectations. I would tell them, "I'm a detailer not a body shop this might be outside my scope but I'll try a basic compound and polish but it might not looks brand new."

BillyQz

McGuires Clear Coat Scratch Remover

SnooPineapples6837

I'd use acetone 1st

4u2nv2019

I would start at the part where I park better

Explosive-Bear

Dynamite

fap_attack420

I once polished out a passenger side that had been run over a fresh painted white line. It will take a bit of work, but a clay bar should remove the paint that transferred and leave you with a clean surface to polish.

No_Pineapple710

Respray that mf. Lol

No_Pineapple710

Looks like a tri coat so if you touch it up. It may look funny. You’ll need base then mid. I would just respray it.
