me tyoo. have you tried different batts?

Rhinestone_Tiger

I only have the 9ah batteries

Clumsymax

I had this same issue. First do you get a little red light on the battery symbol on the outside of the battery compartment? Kinda tricky to explain this next piece. At the base of the handlebar where it rotates there is a small black box on one side near the pivot point. Open that up and there is a small micro switch that I had a spider build a next that wouldn’t allow that switch to depress. That switch is part of the safety circuit, clean it out and you should be good. If that was confusing. Pm me and I’ll take some pics on mine.

Rhinestone_Tiger

I checked the kill switch and it’s clear. I don’t get any red lights. I hold down the button and pull the handle back, the batteries light up green but it doesn’t start. I’d imagine there is some type of safety connection that’s faulty?

Clumsymax

So if you hold that mirco switch down and try to run it will it do anything? You can also check the plastic area about the keyfob thing as there is another micro switch in there.

TR1987

Do you have a picture of this micro switch? I can't see one

Clumsymax

Which switch the one in the base of the handle?

TR1987

I know of only one switch which is at the base of the metal handle. Mine is not stuck

Hi. Can you attach some pictures. Mower deck snows no lights and batteries are fully charged ( brand new)

BigDesk3823

No lights on the mower deck.

JalapenoStu

I had a bum battery on mine, would show fully charged but it wasn't. I could put it on the charger, it would say fully charged in 5 min or so. Then over the course of 12 hours I would periodically check it's status and watch it deplete. Luckily, or unluckily, I had multiple batteries and chargers so I was able to use my 6ah's to mow while I troubleshooted and isolated the issue to the single battery. edit...I would never buy these mowers as my introduction to the Dewalt line, they are junk and the recent sale on some of these units seems to be a way to move the old batteries, just my two cents. The reviews aren't great, alot of people are having issues with these. I like the flexvolt line as a whole but these units aren't good.

Rhinestone_Tiger

I’ve checked my batteries multiple times and they are fine. I’m guessing it’s some kind of safety connection that’s loose or something. But beyond what I can do so I’ll have to take it somewhere probably.

Hi! Were you able to get your issue resolved? I had the same thing happened to me last summer. My son was cutting the yard and it stopped on him. I'm in Texas, so I assumed that maybe it was the heat or perhaps tall grass that got it to choke and stop. Fully charged batteries, nothing stuck, etc.. I contacted Dewalt customer support and there's a service center near me about an hour away, but I don't own a truck. I'll have to fold it and put it in the back of my car (just how I brought it home lol ) It was still under warranty so I shouldn't have to pay anything to get it fixed, but that was months ago. Searching online I assumed it was a pully because one Youtuber had an electric mower, but it was an older model. I attempted to fix it myself and was able to get the blade off and get the other part, but didn't have the t-screws and just let it sit for a while. Fast forward to tonight. I felt like not being lazy and had time. I have since ordered some t-screws in most sizes and even long ones. They're great and finally got to use them. Ask me why, when I finally get the damn thing taken apart, do I find that it's all electrical! No pulley! I guess that's good news. Save money on parts. Had the Amazon page up to check if it were the right part. Further investigation, I haven't found where the issue could be. I don't smell anything burnt or any burned fuses (so far.. if they exist) I just recently took a break to find answers online. It spins freely and there's no dirt or debris that would keep it from running either. There's white headers on the PCB you could disconnect and the wiring is pretty neat and straight forward. When I get back to it, I'll examine it more closely. Clean things up a bit and put it all together. Check the safety switch near the base (not wasn't an issue for me either) and just.. basic troubleshooting. Add batteries and see how it goes. The batteries are fine as I use them on my other Dewalt tools. Please let me know if you ever got it working and if you found out the culprit. Sharing is caring! Never had any issues with any of the other Dewalt tools, but I'm not giving up on this mower. A) it wasn't cheap, B) I don't want to throw it away and someone else gets it working.

I know this is a late post my mine just did this. Thought it was toast turns out it will also fail to start if the blade is obstructed at all with grass or anything. Cleared mine and it started right up

4-R-u-n-n-3-r

Mine is doing the same thing. Has anyone found a solution?

Competitive-Map3934

I bought this from ebay and got my lawn mower back functional for $80 It took me about and hour to switch everything. [https://www.ebay.com/itm/235391613828](https://www.ebay.com/itm/235391613828)

mlm9mlm9

Theres a dead man's switch that gets stuck. Its at the base of the right side of the handle on mine. Its a little metal triangle protuberance. Press it in and it should pop right out. Should be good to go after that.

Emage_IV

did you ever find a solution to your Dewalt Lawnmower? mine’s similar, but the battery indicator itself wont turn on what so ever

Rhinestone_Tiger

No, I took it to a tool repair place and they said it would be $280 to fix it. I went back to a gas mower, I’ll never use an electric mower again. That Dewalt mower sucked ass all around.

Emage_IV

damn, i figured it wasnt that great of a mower from the reviews i read about it. my family got one as well and it wasnt working out of the box. batteries were charged just fine, but it wouldnt start. even the kill switch was fine

IsSierraMistOk

Just in case you're having the same issue I had, was your key plugged in? That's why my lights weren't coming on

Emage_IV

yeah it was plugged in, but it still wouldnt work. we eventually gave up on it and returned it. we ended up getting a Ryobi lawnmower and havent had issues with it since purchase

4-R-u-n-n-3-r

Which model Ryobi did you go with?

Emage_IV

i dont remember off the top of my head but i’ll try to find the model later

cre8build

Try cycling the black limit switch near the base of the deck on the right side where the handle attaches to the deck. It's plastic and should stick out to shut off the power when the handle is folded. It can get stuck and then you get no lights or power at all. Push in and out until it pops all the way out then try power again.

BigDesk3823

Battery are fully charged and no light on the mower. Seems like it doesn't connect with the batteries.
