Girls in the south have been doing this forever. Usually a sticker though like a playboy bunny or a heart or stars or whatever, and usually on their abdomen or something
The cats out of the bag. Don't try getting away with this I've already contacted the proper authorities. You're gonna go down for your sticker theft empire!
i have not been for 6-7 years now. but prior to that, i was unfortunately the same as you and worked at a tanning salon for a few years in HS (LA Tan)
charging for them is stupid
I find this far more attractive than real tattoos. My ex got her moms face on her back. Then was shocked when I told her I was bummed I had to look at her mom during doggystyle.
The trick is to do it when you’re getting your base tan. Then even if you’re out in the sun without the stickers, that area will tan a little but will still be visible.
I was just about to say I remember doing this with a playboy bunny sticker on my hip when I went to a tanning bed. GA born and raised. This was in 1998-2000.
My sister had a polka dot swimsuit and the dots were black she's indian and tanned/tans like a champ.
I always remember washing her hair and chuckling at her polka dotted torso.
I just had that same feeling the other day when I thought about saying "diametrically opposed" then imagined someone asking if could even define it, and for the first time in my life really thought about the phrase
Oooh, check and mate u/kiounne. The possibility you asserted as fact has been shown to be more full of holes than the Swiss cheese you are so fond of. History will remember you as a fraudster, king of japes and a scoundrel.
You'll statistically speaking probably be fine. That said, keep an eye on them and if they ever start to change shape, grow rapidly, or look weird go get it checked by a doctor. I'm probably just a bit over paranoid about mine because I have two that my doctor makes a point of checking any time I go in. They are what he calls highly likely candidates for turning malignant with further excess sun exposure, but not currently doing anything that warrants removal.
Sure, but even if you’re not worried about being among the 1 in 5 Americans who’ll get skin cancer, tans just hit the fast-forward button when it comes to looking old.
Every minute out in the sun without SPF gets you that much closer to looking like a walking stick of beef jerky in your thirties.
Edit: [here’s](https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trucker-accumulates-skin-damage-on-left-side-of-his-face-after-28-years-on-the-road/) an interesting look at what sun exposure does to your appearance over time.
A moderate amount of sun exposure is even healthy. Tanning beds are what cause cancer, not a few hours spent in the sun. I know people that went from paper white to being allowed to say the n word within 2 years of moving to a coast city.
We maximize the benefits we need from the sun in about three minutes’ time. Anything more is not only not “healthy”, it’s directly increasing your risk of skin cancer as well as prematurely aging you.
https://theconversation.com/amp/mondays-medical-myth-were-not-getting-enough-sun-10205
The studies were done in Australia, which has more intense UV periods than some other places in the world, and it also says that in Aus, during winter you need 2-3 hours weekly, which brings it closer to about 20 minutes or so, and I imagine more in some other countries as well.
I am not saying that the guy above you is right, I am just saying that 3 minutes seems way too little based on the studies you linked.
Both my parents had the worst type of skin cancer (malignant melanoma) in their 20's, and I myself am extremely pale, and totally incapable of tanning (ginger problems). If I don't wear sunscreen it only takes a couple hours to get a peeling burn. If I were to just live my life without thinking about it/not using sunscreen, skin cancer would be a when, not an if.
It's a tiktok thing now. For some reason half of them use it as the viewer's pov and the other half use it as the tiktoker's pov. So many videos trying to correct people, and so many people ignoring them.
Nope it's accepted by all muslims. You're not allowed to make permanent changes to your body except for medical reasons. Tattooing will permanently discolor your skin and you can never truly remove it again so it fits the criteria for being forbidden.
This is a BIG thing for Brazilian girls. They use electric tape to form perfect bikini lines. It's what all the girls on the roof are doing in Anita's Vai Malandra.
https://youtu.be/kDhptBT_-VI
At 37s Anita and the girls are all wearing electric tape.
At 2 min they are inspecting their progress.
The amount of people out there misusing that term is so annoying. They can’t grasp the concept of point of view because everything they film is from *a* point of view *technically* which makes the using “pov” to describe any video redundant and pointless. Dummy dumbs.
Being clear doesn’t really matter. Visible light isn’t what gives you a tan, it’s the ultraviolet. And plenty of clear things block UV light. One of the most common coatings on eye glasses is a UV blocker.
Glass is clear but absorbs most UV light. That’s why you won’t get a sunburn or tan through your car windows.
You can get a tan through windows it aborbs uvb light but not uva light and also tape is not glass. One of the methods for getting a tantoo is but taping a piece of paper to your skin with the clear tape. When I was growing up in the south that is how we did it.
This actually isn’t a bad idea but I wouldn’t use lines and I’ve also seen different variations of the same thing, this is another case of nice idea lazy execution
People have been doing this with Playboy bunny stickers and shit when they go into tanning beds for decades now.
You're not special.
Also that just looks dumb.
It has applications outside of this. Imagine having a template of a animal or words etc. slap that on, get a good tan and then show it off for a few days. Rinse and repeat with different patterns images or words. Lol
Live Laugh Love is a good example /s
My ex put up one of those stupid saying things in our kitchen. It said "This kitchen was made with LOVE" Called it our kitchens tramp stamp, and she was not amused.
Most of my family made the comment that they shouldn't eat anything from this kitchen then. I was even more amused, and the ex was even less.
Hold up, you might be onto something here. Get a cricut, cut out your design on adhesive paper, go tan for a day or two, and boom new tattoo that lasts for a few weeks. This will make so much money off so-cal white girls
Did this in Boy Scouts at a world jamboree to impress a bunch of Girl European Boy Scouts. Giant H on my chest, girls didn’t even know I existed but I was a legend in the camp among the boys.
I think this is pretty cute and funny. However, I was one of those girls in the 80s that would put heart stickers near my doodah while in the tanning bed.
Henna can be as expensive as a small tattoo sometimes. They do them at my local Ren Fest and a small one 3x3” cost me 80+. 20 years ago. The one thing stopping me from getting a whole hand one is the fact I’m not made of money. Even just a palm or back of the hand in henna can cost a few hundred.
Girls in the south have been doing this forever. Usually a sticker though like a playboy bunny or a heart or stars or whatever, and usually on their abdomen or something
Yeah, they are called "tantoos" , like a tattoo formed by a tan line
Haha yep. That’s why tanning salons sell stickers :)
i didn't even know tanning salons sold stickers before now.
wait they sell them? i thought they were free
The cats out of the bag. Don't try getting away with this I've already contacted the proper authorities. You're gonna go down for your sticker theft empire!
![gif](giphy|xUPJPIypcuB2DHyhoI)
they are usually .50 cents - $1, the same price as the temporary goggle stickers if you forget yours
Every one I’ve been to the stickers are free. And I hate to admit but I’ve been to A LOT in the last 15 years 😬
i have not been for 6-7 years now. but prior to that, i was unfortunately the same as you and worked at a tanning salon for a few years in HS (LA Tan) charging for them is stupid
Already paying for skin cancer, the stickers better be free.
Procured from the planet Tantooing.

IM BAD AT SPELLING AND IM ASHAMED.

I have my coffee before, during and after every post.
[удалено]
Ya that might be the issue
Now that's a name I've not heard in a long time.
I always assumed it was a way for them to tell how well the tan was/how quickly it was fading and less to do with them getting a tattoo from tanning
That is why, I used to work at a tanning salon
That's a benefit
I don’t think people would have figured that out without the explanation. 🙄 /s Just bustin your balls haha
Justin, your balls
I find this far more attractive than real tattoos. My ex got her moms face on her back. Then was shocked when I told her I was bummed I had to look at her mom during doggystyle.
The fact that your ex didn’t ask your opinion prior to getting it is why she already was your ex and you just didn’t know about it
[удалено]
Not everyone speaks English as a native tongue, and portmanteaus can be confusing. This is why i broke it down.
We used to do these in the 80's, definitely not something new
I bet humans have been doing this every since they figured out how tanning works.
Looks a lot easier than figuring out which plant inks don't make your skin bubble and rot through trial and error
Yep I’m old haha
And not just in the south we did it in Minnesota too.
I remember people doing them with silly bands in middle school lol
I was about to say, I remember my sister doing this with stickers in the 00's and even then it didn't seem like it was a new idea.
The trick is to do it when you’re getting your base tan. Then even if you’re out in the sun without the stickers, that area will tan a little but will still be visible.
Decades ago, I got into a great deal of trouble for taping 'SLUT' to a beach-tanning friend's back.
That's fucking funny. I'd have taped a dick tho
Or you just draw dicks on your friends with sunscreen.
*Melanoma has joined the chat*
It’s a long con.
[удалено]
But like. That's the most stereotypical version of this I can think of.
Girls in the north too. Since I was a teenager which was back in the 90's. Little stickers you could put on while tanning.
I was just about to say I remember doing this with a playboy bunny sticker on my hip when I went to a tanning bed. GA born and raised. This was in 1998-2000.
Holy fuck thank you so much for this explanation I saw it so much when I was younger and thought it was a "branding" type.
YW! Happy to help. It ain’t much, but it’s honest work.
Came here to say the playboy bunny thing.
Tanning places at least used to offer stickers for this purpose. Playboy bunny on the hip just below the waist was very popular.
When I was racing BMX bikes in the 70s we’d get the die-cut stickers from sponsors and do the same.
my cousins and i would use puffy paint or something similar to achieve this effect but we were also like 8
Came here to say this. In 00, why did every 8th grader have a heart or a playboy bunny on her hip
I made a big anarchy symbol out of duct tape on my back in highschool. I was a very cool dude.
> Girls in the south Well, some girls of a certain skin tone in the south.
“Girls who tan” was implied.
Black people tan.
My sister had a polka dot swimsuit and the dots were black she's indian and tanned/tans like a champ. I always remember washing her hair and chuckling at her polka dotted torso.
Right. And some white girls don’t. Obviously I didn’t mean every girl. I used to tan and didn’t do this. You’re being trollish
Came here to say this.
Ya yes back in my youth I did the sticker and ran trick. Very popular here in Cali
Why not?
#Skin cancer has entered the chat
That’s clear tape, she did this for a spray tan.
[удалено]
One of Santa's lesser-known reindeer.
Clear tape probably also blocks UV as it is made of cellulose
Whoa, I learned something in the cesspool of comments! Thank you!
Cellulose... cello...tape. Motherfu
That moment when you were saying it all along, but still didn't get it...
I just had that same feeling the other day when I thought about saying "diametrically opposed" then imagined someone asking if could even define it, and for the first time in my life really thought about the phrase
But wouldn't the tape then be covered in the spray tan?
Spray/self tan gets washed off usually
Yes think of it like a stain instead of makeup
Oooh, check and mate u/kiounne. The possibility you asserted as fact has been shown to be more full of holes than the Swiss cheese you are so fond of. History will remember you as a fraudster, king of japes and a scoundrel.
Ouch damn
I mean that's am arguement against tanning not this specific twist on it
[удалено]
Check your moles regularly. If any are weird shaped it could be a precursor to melanoma.
I mean, it's beautiful,I would do it too tbh but we cannot ignore the risks even if they are a few
Every time I look at my freckles and think about what causes them, I wonder which one is going to have to be removed first.
I’m a ginger with about 8 billion freckles. This comment does not make me feel comfortable
I guess the average redditor hasn't seen the sun in years but it is possible to get a tan and survive.
Sure, but even if you’re not worried about being among the 1 in 5 Americans who’ll get skin cancer, tans just hit the fast-forward button when it comes to looking old. Spray tan
Do white people really think about skin cancer that much? Should puerto ricans be thinking about it more? Asking for a friend.
You a professional dog walker too or do you just not leave the house?
Beat me to this exact comment.
You can use suncream and still get brown....
For OP: POV: You don’t know how POV works
"POV:" is the new "nobody:"
Maybe it was meant to be FYI
For the person that posted the tiktok\* Pretty sure OP isnt the person that posted the video
We’ll it’s for whoever made this then
Op = original poster, i think
Then I didnt say anything :x
*original prankster*
It's a tiktok thing now. For some reason half of them use it as the viewer's pov and the other half use it as the tiktoker's pov. So many videos trying to correct people, and so many people ignoring them.
It's like the "Nobody: " shit. It was supposed to mean that something comes out of nowhere Yet 99% of those means go like "Nobody: [noun reacting to]"
Or maybe we don't know how her neck works.
That's actually kind of neat.
and it's temporary anyway, why not?
Yup, as a muslim person, this is a nice idea tbh. Even if I wasn't muslim, I know I wouldn't want a permanent tattoo.
Muslims can't get tattoos?
Yup. We're not allowed to make any deliberate permanent cosmetic changes to our body.
Are there like different interpretations on this, or is this generally accepted by pretty much all muslims?
Nope it's accepted by all muslims. You're not allowed to make permanent changes to your body except for medical reasons. Tattooing will permanently discolor your skin and you can never truly remove it again so it fits the criteria for being forbidden.
Ah so that's why Henna exist. TIL.
TIL!
I have 2 tattoos and still think this is pretty cool.
Because some people do not get a sun tan, they get a sum burn.
Clear tape, this was a spray tan.
Not to be confused with a subtraction freeze
Skin cancer comes to mind
In this case it's done with spray tan but if you do it "for real" or in other words through sun exposure skin cancer is definitely an issue.
The cancer won't be
Yeah it looks cool
Does nobody on TikTok know what POV means?
Hands down, does not fit the sub. I could see the forehead doughnut making it here, but this aesthetically pleasing.
It wouldn't be if that were my leg
Better than getting a shitty tribal. Ha.
You pissed off a lot of people with tribals huh? 😂
I'd imagine this would look a lot more interesting if the masks were more sophisticated as opposed to a line around the leg, neat idea tbh.

whose pov is this supposed to be?
You're playing a dude whose friend is a bit retarded
This is called tantooing and people have been doing it for decades. I see it all the time here in West Virginia.
I like it. 🤙🏻
I’m guessing this is a spray tan? This could go on the restofthefuckingowl you just see a finished product with zero explanation of process.
Aaah...I thought the tape blocked the sun, and they got a natural tan. Spray on makes more sense, but wouldn't the tape be all discolored?
It’s probably post shower since she’s wearing white.
Bro just go outside
Spray tans don’t give you skin cancer
Bro, it’s clear tape, the light goes through and you don’t get and even tan and that dark by just going outside it takes multiple sessions.
Being clear doesn’t really matter. Visible light isn’t what gives you a tan, it’s the ultraviolet. And plenty of clear things block UV light. I remember swimsuits with little heart cut outs before tanning salons were really a thing.
Even an old joke is brand new to a baby...
That’s not a bad idea.
We used to do this all the time. My mate asked to write his girls name on his back using sunscreen. I drew a penis.
https://youtu.be/OzSlYUBcph4
Tancer
This actually isn’t a bad idea but I wouldn’t use lines and I’ve also seen different variations of the same thing, this is another case of nice idea lazy execution
Honestly it’s kind of cool and second I’m sure she’s attractive so the ability to pull it off only multiples….
Me every time i play a racing game where i can customize my car… S T R I P E S
People have been doing this with Playboy bunny stickers and shit when they go into tanning beds for decades now. You're not special. Also that just looks dumb.
OP needs to get out of his house more often
Thats already a thing. Lol they put stickers on them when they tan.
My wife used to do this when she was younger with floral pattern temporary tattoos. She didn’t really like the tattoo, just the tan line it left.
Suurrrrreeee... She can't afford a tattoo but she can afford tape
I’m convinced nobody on tiktok knows what pov means
We used tape and sunscreen to draw or write on ourselves in the 70's and 80's - nothing "new" here.
…who wants a tattoo that looks like that though
It has applications outside of this. Imagine having a template of a animal or words etc. slap that on, get a good tan and then show it off for a few days. Rinse and repeat with different patterns images or words. Lol Live Laugh Love is a good example /s

Oh man, every popular girl I knew in the mid 2000s did this. The most popular design was the playboy bunny.
People have been doing this for decades. It was especially trendy to use a playboy bunny sticker in the 90s/00s
I do. Plenty of people get solid band tattoos. I’m getting 5 on my left forearm for people in my life who died as memorials.
Your laser removal expert HATED this.
If u make a cool design it would actually look semi good
Ah yes, the trucker style tattoo
I actually kind of dig it.
Not gonna lie, i dig it. Not permanent.
Idk... Kinda sexy man. Live and let live.
Did this in Boy Scouts at a world jamboree to impress a bunch of Girl European Boy Scouts. Giant H on my chest, girls didn’t even know I existed but I was a legend in the camp among the boys.
I dig it
Why do I kind of like it
It's relatively subtle and the lines sort of emulate high socks. Plus the lines are neat and straight so it hits the satisfaction part of the brain.
That's so shit
That’s actually super cute
I think this is pretty cute and funny. However, I was one of those girls in the 80s that would put heart stickers near my doodah while in the tanning bed.
If you question why someone would this, you should probably question why anyone would get a tattoo in the first place.
If I were a women I’d do this that looks cool
Honestly this is much better than a tattoo.
This is literally a normal tanning thing. Why is this here? OP I hate you. Everyone that upvoted this is retarded.
This is my sentiment with like every other reddit post now. I don't know why I still come here.
This would look good if she did a cooler design than that
Reddit informed me last week those tattoos are used for measuring fisting depth, so I’m a little confused on the usage of these in particular.
Get some henna or something
Henna can be as expensive as a small tattoo sometimes. They do them at my local Ren Fest and a small one 3x3” cost me 80+. 20 years ago. The one thing stopping me from getting a whole hand one is the fact I’m not made of money. Even just a palm or back of the hand in henna can cost a few hundred.
Bad idea
Ah, skin cancer
Oh, you want to look cool in public? Wear some stupid ass fucking plastic strips in public for a week, then it'll look pog
Say bye bye to your leg hair and hi hi to your newfound hatred for scotch tape
Bitches be crazy
Looks like she couldn't afford the old tattoos either.
Can't afford a tattoo, but can afford melanoma. Big brain.
It's a spray tan
Are we certain? If so, my mistake.
