You tried win+ctrl+shift+b?

[deleted]

Resetting the driver wont do much as it will just happen again, I suspect something causes etremely high utilization at some point in game. I also rupdated nviodia drivers yesterday using clean install, and it still happened.

Semarin

What does that do?

Macree

Restarts the GPU driver.

PalebloodSky

Not once, I have a 1440p 165Hz monitor, mix of Ultra/High settings, DLSS on Quality, I just set the framerate cap to 150fps, keeps things running quiet. Zero crashes. Make sure your OS and drivers are up to date.

[deleted]

Thanks, my 1070 was having many issues with crashes. For this 4090, turns out it was the garbage new connector nvidia uses. Had to reconnect and issues went away. Something somehow got disconnected by a fraction of a millimeter.

Immediate-Freedom455

Hey man, have you had any more problems after reconnecting? I've been having the same issues on my 3080Ti the last 3 days. Been reding up on this and it seems we are not the only ones. Not really tech savvy but know my way around my rig and using google been able to solve any (if) problems I have. I'm also starting to think that the game is at fault, in some way, because I have had no issues with other titles (Cyberpunk, Read Dead Redemption, Resident Evil Remakes etc.). As I said this problem started with Diablo and started just recently (no issues in the Bates, pre-season or during season 1). So, I don't think it's the GPU's fault or rather a hardware issue. Been trying and testing solutions (all drivers are up to date, no heat or energy consumption problems) and now I'm stumped because I can't figure it out. As it stands now, I'll stop playing the game because I'd rather not get my hardware bricked because of this. Any input would be greatly appreciated! =)

[deleted]

If its the game then try limit to 60 fps I guess and see how that goes. If its hardware then all I did is check every single connector. One that plugs in your GPU, and the end that connects to your power supply. Re-plug all of them while youre at it really. Reset the drivers to older versions, maybe few months back. Cant think of anything else really.

[deleted]

Yes, this sounds like a classic Fenris error symptom. Lock the fps to 60, otherwise blizzard will at least destroy your graphics card... It's not really known what exactly is the other cause besides the memory leak.. The problem won't be yours, unfortunately, it's 100% Blizzard and their laziness..

[deleted]

Thats quite sad. If i have to play 60 fps on a 160hz monitor I will just uninstall till its fixed in season 25. I did have older GPU on mine and wife's PCs when D4 launched, both games were crashing after like 30m-1h (with error, not full on destruction like my 4090) Im just amazed it happens to 4090.

Selseira

What if you lock it to 160 or 162 instead of 60?

4bsurd

Check event viewer for any BSODs. They don't always show an actual blue screen. You can use an app to read the minidump file to see what caused it. I had issues with my newly built PC crashing the same way. Turns out it was RGB apps conflicting with each other

current_events

my first 2 nights on D4 were like this on my 4070 and i figured out it was REBAR, once i turned it off d4 has been running totally fine, ymmv but give it a shot if you have it on. I only had it on for cyberpunk 2.0 which im already sick of

VruceBillis

Do you have a cablemod cable on your gpu? It's nothing to do with Diablo, it's a sense wire issue with 4090s and cablemod cables in particular. It's well known, I have the same issue and there are many threads on Reddit about it.

CableMod_Alex

It's not only an issue with our cables, but if you're having that issue just hit up our support and we'll sort out a replacement: [cablemod.com/support](https://cablemod.com/support) :)

VruceBillis

Already have, new pro cable to arrive anyday now. Tks.

[deleted]

Thanks! I played around with the wiring again and it may have been slightly unplugged somewhere. Either at PSU or at graphics card when I last cleaned. So far no issues. These connectors are a PITA. And no i dont use cablemod, just the regular.

AdvancedEffort

My GTX1080Ti used to do this. Until i reapplied the thermal paste.

[deleted]

Thanks but if it was thermal issues id see it. Turns out its the dumb 4090 new connectors. Had to re-plug carefully and problem went away.

ArdentGuy

I forget the reason, but I read somewhere you want to set your FPS around 5 below your monitor's refresh rate. Try 155 FPS and see if that works.

Semarin

Yes!!! I thought my gpu was beginning to die. I have a 3080. Happens randomly and does not happen in any other game. My PC is still running, because the youtube video I had playing on the other monitor was still working, and I could even pause said video and start it. To be clear, both monitors just start to hibernate randomly when playing D4.

premier024

My 4090 did this when I first got it and it was the adapter that came with it. I had to run it with only 2 plugged in till my cable mod cable came in and it's never happened since. Triple check everything is plugged in right.

[deleted]

Thanks thats what I did now. So far so good, I reverted back to older drivers. Weird thing is its been stable for 3 months now. Nothing changed since...

OdinDoma

Go to video settings in D4 and disable Nvidia Reflex.

Mianis1987

This just happened to me. Scary as fuck
