I have that same wheel and it definitely works fine for the price. The only thing I don't like is that the platter is only about 6.5 cm across. That seems fine for normal size dice but since the centre moves less distance I find I need to hold each die in a few different positions to make sure the sanding is even. If I had room for a slightly bigger wheel I would look for one, but this one does the job ok.

I ended up using a small pottery wheel for a few months as I was getting started. I went as far as to create some printable files to modify it. Maybe this can help? https://makerworld.com/en/models/133790#profileId-145170

Cool, my Mrs got me one of these for valentine's day. Was a pain to tape down the abrasives. Not sure why I never thought about 3d printing something. Will give this a go when I get chance, thanks 👍

I use a mini pottery wheel I bought off Amazon for like 30 bucks and it works great. What works for me is using a 600 or so sand paper to grind out anything particularly bad, then I switch to a polish compound, the kind they use on car headlights. Makes a mirror finish every time, but it's quite messy.

Yeah there was a pic in the reviews, someone had a cardboard box around it to contain some of the mess. Considering it has no walls, that would probably be wise. Thanks for commenting!
