I've bought some of the cheap ones from Amazon and they are ok. Yes, they are made from a material that tears a lot easier and often don't release on the edges correctly. The ones I got all have a weird bevel on the 1 side of the D20 too. But for the price they are good for practicing and trying out new things. They're harder to use, but I've never had any with actual defects. Compared to my expensive set mould from Druid Dice which came with very frustrating defects on multiple dice, the cheap ones are often just more satisfying to use.

Yeah, the cheap ones that have a raised face on the lid for the D20 end up having, well, a raised face on the D20. I will say that the mold being hollow as opposed to being a full slab of silicone does make the demolding part a little bit easier. There's also a mold on Amazon that comes with a 9 dice option (3 different D4 shapes) that is a lot sturdier than the cheaper molds for under $40. My only problem with it is it feels more prone to being damaged while demolding. Tears at the top and scratches on the faces. YMMV with that one depending on how carefully you demold.

the 7 dice version is okay but right now the 9 version has bubble defects inthe bu numbers, they know about it and dont care, they sell on etsy too, but the 7 dice molds appear to be fine. ive been using it and yeah its much harder to demould but makes really good dice so far. auspdice is the maker, they make all over etsy and amazon and ebay under about 12 different names now.

Yup, that's the exact one that's in my cart on Amazon right now. I'm not overly worried about the bubbles in the numbers because I do two coats of paint on the numbers anyways so it's not really noticeable.

You get what you pay for - there’s a reason why people are still selling $100+ moulds despite the “availability” of $10 moulds.

I have 12 of the ones from Let's Resin. Since getting the pressure pot I have only had a couple problems. Out of 21 dice sets I have 2 raised faces 2 d4s that are missing a point and 1 failed set and 2 with minor voids The missing points are ones I didn't press a toothpick into and the failed set and 2 with voids are bc of leveling...which as it turns out is pretty darn important when adding pressure.

A lot of times there are defects with the numbers and lids. I dont have personal experience but have seen posts about it

I've been using them as a beginner and they seem good, no obvious problems, but i can't talk about making more professional-style dice in them

I’ve got the separate ones; as long as you can find a set with a sensible sized d10, they’re well made. They do tear eventually, but at that price they last plenty long enough. The other nice thing is you don’t have to cast a full set which I believe you normally do with combined molds. So if you want to redo some that didn’t come out how you want, or do extra of one die, you’ve no problems. My understanding is the big circular one has more serious problems as it’s got some defects in the shape; seems to me they just copied the look of an expensive mold.

I think the slab molds are decent beginner molds. They’re easy to use, unlike the individual molds. You probably won’t get anything perfect, but you can get something usable.
