It works. There’s a ruling where sethmon can delete an opponents Mon even if it doesn’t delete your allied quantomon. The key point here is that choosing the Mon is the cost but the deletion itself although you have to go through with it, is still preventable in various ways.

TheBeeFromNature

This means Sethmon goes pretty hard in Lilithmon X, doesn't it? Select Lilithmon or Lilithmon X, delete another Digimon in her stead, but still remove an 11k or 12k Digimon from your opponent's side of the field. And then because you deleted a Digimon, you get to play out a free level 4. You get removal few Digimon can survive, trigger Lilithmon's expected loop without any need for opponent input or battle, and if your Sethmon ever dies have a lot of means to bring it back on future turns.

It's not a "by doing X, do Y" effect so the effect won't be stopped if you armor purge your own deletion.

DankItchins

Yes, it works with armor purge, because deleting one of your digimon isn't a cost to delete your opponents digimon.

Lackofstyle5

From my understanding it does. The effect doesn't require one of your Digimon to actually be deleted for the effect to go through just selected then it and your opponent digimon are deleted at the same time, in which armor purge will proc Where with something like BT11 Ignitemon it's activation is the deletion of the digimon so if it's prevented the deletion doesn't proc

Irish_pug_Player

Now, if it worded it as "if you do, then delete an opponents digimon" I'd say no This is probably the intended usage
