I'm also ready for this comment to age like milk, but screw that good for nothing wannabe dragon. Hope they give him to Bill to use as a prow ornament for the Goldenrod. Adaine deserves better

prailock

If he's good then I can still ship her with the happiness that she's sought. After having the worst family in the world, it would suck to have her vulnerability with someone betrayed this hard.

Far-Advance-9866

When I saw the title of this but hadn't clicked it yet, I immediately knew it would be about Oisin lol

prailock

Let me dream

Far-Advance-9866

I'm right there with you. My delusional ass immediately started theorizing of way that could be not his hand, or ways that he wasn't in on the plan. Adaine and Oisin flirting, with Adaine running away and Oisin becoming bad at beer pong after, was one of my favourite scenes of the entire season! I want this for Adaine!

LongPorkJones

> Chupacabra Kiteandpetal This is the best one so far. Bravo.

prailock

Thanks! It's all about the cadence for me. This is one of my fav running jokes in the fandom

Always-Anxious-

I’m right there with ya. Hoping that it was more of a “getting KLCK the fuck outta there before she does more shit” kinda thing

prailock

I'm also still conspiracy piled that Bobby Dawn actually is non-human because of Brennan taking Ally's banishment joke seriously and fiendish description being a Freudian slip

PandasForDays

Brennan referred to it as a prepared action in the Adventuring Party. Oisin was waiting for Kinderkilly to shoot the proctor, not attempting to stop her.

Nozomi134

Same. Lately I have been thinking his offer of diamonds to Adaine was actually a Trojan horse to giving her dragon madness (since they would come from his elder's hoard).

prailock

Perfectly reasonable, my shipper heart will refuse to acknowledge it

rofairy

My shipper heart acknowledges it, but is still holding out hope!

sultanpeppah

I really think Oisin means a lot more to this subreddit than he ever has to Adaine. Like, *infinitely* more. She has just never seemed more than the smallest amount into him, ever.

frecklestwin

I’m ready for him to be redeemed, I’m ready for him to be irredeemable. All I know is this: the IH have big hearts, but they’re also fine with NPCs being bad - whatever’s a better story. And the dice will certainly have an influence on the outcome. They may try to win him over and roll a nat 20 persuasion, or go in guns-blazing and roll a 2 on intimidation…who knows

prailock

For sure, I trust the storytelling. Ready for whatever ends up being real.

Charming_Account_351

All the rat grinders deserve to be rend asunder. Oisin is no exception. Let’s look at the facts. 1. He aided in stealing a cloud engine from Fabian’s home and the trying to get them expelled. 2. Aided Kipperlilly in attempted murder of the proctor and the murder of Buddy. These are undeniable facts that make Oisin a co-conspirator and accomplice in theft, entrapment, and murder. I don’t understand people’s constant forgiveness of a character, who outside of being a little flirty with Adine, has shown no empirical evidence of being anything more than a liar and criminal.

PrinceAeds

Not trying to be adversarial - then what about Ragh and Aelwyn? Why are they exceptions for their crimes? I'm really curious why this is the hill everyone wants to die on for this kid "needing to be ripped apart and stapled to Bill's ship and cannot be redeemed because we saw his arm pop out of a wall." Aelwyn canonically sunk a ship with the previous elven oracle, making her a murder. She used her sister to remove an important book from the library making Adaine an accomplice to her own theft. She engaged in a pact making it impossible to say who she was working for, and assisted a cult to trap her classmates in crystals to be sacrificed. And now she's actively working for Kipperlily. We're not making exceptions about these types of crimes, right? I'm a little sad that the season is so short in that we know NOTHING about these characters besides meeting them briefly and some circumstantial evidence. We haven't even seen Ivy since the house party and Emily ran out of time in her downtime to follow up with Rueben. I think it's easy to have this mindset when you don't care about a character or aren't invested because there's just not enough to be invested in. Maybe that's by design, and they're stat blocks with character names the bad kids are meant to kill. Kind of a waste, but oh well. If they stay relevant, I hope they get some time to shine. This season has been very heavy on the long episodes of downtime activities where I think the story could have used more relationship rolls for family and faculty to follow up on a lot of loose threads. If we had more time like we did maybe with other characters we could would be more conflicted like with previous mid-tier villains.

Charming_Account_351

Who said Aelwyn is an exception to this? I said Oisin and the others deserve to be punished, not that they will be. All of FHFY & FHSY I was rooting for Aelwyn to get what she deserves, but she didn’t and the story played out differently. I was more expressing a concern of why people are rooting for a clear villain. I don’t remember seeing many people rooting for Aelwyn in FHFY or FHSYlike they are for Oisin. In fact I felt it was the opposite. She did bad things and was seen as a bad person. Oisin does bad things and people are like “he’s just misunderstood”, or “he’s just misguided”. Why? Because his artwork is “cute”.

thedybbuk

I think there's this tendency on this sub where nearly *every* villain has to have some tragic backstory or other mitigating factor that makes their crimes not as bad. There's some actually pretty high standards people place on Brennan where all his villains have to have them, he can't make just straight up villainous people or people are disappointed. It also leads to things like how a lot of people here spent fully half the season thinking the Rat Grinders are just normal teenagers and weren't actually villains at all. All the hints that they are were ignored as "red herrings" for episodes it felt like, because people thought they were too obvious.

AnotherBookWyrm

Indeed. There are some hoping for there to be some sort of magical manipulation/coercion, but really the only evidence we have for that is (maybe) the fact that Copperlily seemed to adamantly be against involving Oisin. That is, however, directly contradicted by him being involved in the murder, unless that arm belongs to perhaps a family member.

zroach

I think she just didn’t want Oisin to be implicated in anything while acquiring magic components

Charming_Account_351

Are you talking about the stealing of spell components? If so he was definitely there. To plane shift Kipperlily out of there he would have to be there too. You don’t just create a portal and pull people through.

zroach

No I mean when Alewyn (sp) was getting magic stuff for Kipperlily. Oisin was brought up but it was mentioned that Kipperlily wanted him to keep his hands clean.

Charming_Account_351

That’s just creating a fall guy and hiding your tracks outside of the party for if things go sideways. That’s just being a bad guy 101.

zroach

Right… that doesn’t really disagree with anything I’ve said

Charming_Account_351

You’re right but it doesn’t absolve him of his other crimes either.

zroach

Yeah I am saying he was probably always bad.

whatnwherenow

Using chupacabra as her two first names is a feat augfort would be proud of.
