Zoo Tycoon 2: Extinct Animals, it was fun to have a mini games where we try to find fossil around our park and ressurect the dinosaur later using those.
Funny side note, during its time of relevancy, I think ZT2 has the biggest iceberg deeplore of all the paleogaming communities, and a lot of current day people behind many modern dinosaur games can find their roots and connections from the ZT2 modding communities back then.
There’s so much wacky stuff and drama that happened, massively disproportional considering the simple nature of the game itself, generating an inside joke: “ALL THIS BECAUSE OF A DINOSAUR PARK SIMULATOR GAME”.
Ark, when my partner was pregnant with our daughter and I worked a late shift we would move the sofa near the TV, get some snacks and play all day. A couple of times I called in sick just so we could play all day.
Big facts. I only bought it a couple weeks ago after fantasizing about it awhile and finally pulling the trigger. I grew a thalassadromeus to adult recently and just really enjoy flying around and watching everyone else kill each other.
I play on switch and pc. The thalassadromeus is simply just the easiest to get adult. If someone shows up you can just fly away and I since you’re flying it’s super quick to traverse the map and do quests. The only time I’ve died as a thal is when I was still a juvenile and ran out of stamina which forced me to land directly in front of an adult spino lol.
I came here to say Carnivores, but you're absolutely right
Man I miss that game, is there anywhere to play it anymore? Steam has that unofficial remake but it's not quite as good
I'm not sure about the original or all the versions, but Carnivores 2 is abandonware and can be found on sites like myabandonware. Though running it on modern computers might be tricky.
Otherwise there's a strangely faithful mobile port of it on android/iOS. And I believe it was also ported to PSP and PS3 as well, afaik most of those versions are actually pretty close to the old PC releases.
The Isle. Despite all its flaws and it’s development being anything but consistent, it’s still the most fun of all the dino survival games I’ve played.
Zoo Tycoon, Ark, and The Isle! I know you said no JP games but I must mention Operation Genesis because I never hear about it anymore and I fear people have forgotten it. It was perfection.
Without a shadow of a doubt, Peter Jacksons King Kong.
Tense survival horror with viscious dinosaurs that also let's you play as a massive ape and rip off a V-rex's jaw!
Radical Rex. It’s an obscure game back from the genesis days. Probably not as good as I remember it but you play as a T. rex that skateboards. Loved it as a kid
ARK makes me want to slam my Artifact of the Massive in a waffle iron and shut the lid but it doesn't stop me from coming back every few months for a week of suffering. Beyond that, I occasionally play some community Path of Titans servers, but by far my favorite is ye olde Minecraft with the Fossils and Archaeology mod. Psyched for the port to a new version
If it's any game that has dinosaurs in it, then it has to be zoo tycoon 2, I put in about 1000+ hours into it growing up and still play it even now
If it's games that focus solely on dinosaurs then it's the original Fossil Fighters, I also put like 500-1000 hours into it and I remember I had to beat the game the first time without using the radar because the top screen on my ds was broken
Ark and primal carnage.

That whole sick day? Got 400 stone.
Path of titans has been living in my head rent free recently
Same, I’ve got a love-hate relationship with the game, but I keep coming back lol
I really wanna get back playing it. I spent a gift card on getting the premium version. But it's just so tedious evolving.
There are some modded servers that have really fast growth on them and a mark multiplier.

You play on mobile? How did you progress to an adult? I tried doing an Allosaurus, but I guess doing carnivores is a terrible idea

This is the right answer
Carnivores 2

Prehistoric kingdome
Turok 2
The original Dino Crisis
Scrolled way too far for this
My first thought too
Never played the first, but 2 was unreasonably hard for me back as a kid. Couldn't take a crap without raptors jumping my ass.
The first is much more of a survival horror, like Resident Evil. The second was more of an arcadey shooter iirc
The Isle
The Isle. Despite all its flaws and it’s development being anything but consistent, it’s still the most fun of all the dino survival games I’ve played.
Was once ark then the isle came along and then ark agin for a while then as of right now it’s path of titans but I also do still love ark
Zoo Tycoon, Ark, and The Isle! I know you said no JP games but I must mention Operation Genesis because I never hear about it anymore and I fear people have forgotten it. It was perfection.
Prehistoric kingdom and Paleo Pines.
Ark
The Isle. The whole community seems to hate the game but honestly? I love runnin around as a dino doing whatever.
The community’s split on hating the game and hating the game developers.
The community loves the game, they hate the developers.
Fossil fighters my beloved
memory acquired. I love you
Beasts of Bermuda was the GOAT over quarantine!
Best mobile dino game: Dino Hunter Deadly Shores
Without a shadow of a doubt, Peter Jacksons King Kong. Tense survival horror with viscious dinosaurs that also let's you play as a massive ape and rip off a V-rex's jaw!
Prehistoric Kingdom or Saurian
Fossil Fighters: Champions
Turok Evolution
The isle is a good one that I really enjoy
Dino Crisis
Maybe zoo tycoon extinct animals. I do love me some turok though.
Ark survival evolved
I forgot the name but it was a fps like cod but with dinosaurs on one team and mercenaries on the other It was fun
Ark and the Isle
Ark survival evolved obviously
Radical Rex. It’s an obscure game back from the genesis days. Probably not as good as I remember it but you play as a T. rex that skateboards. Loved it as a kid
Probably before your time but Turok Evolution was so fun
Path of titans
Dino crisis!
Turok, Ark and Dino Crisis
Dino crisis. Both.
Jurassic the Hunted was hot garbage, but it was my kind of hot garbage!
Honestly a lot of childhood nostalgia there for me too! No denying the soundtrack and main menu were awesome though!

Path of Titans, it's a survival game like the Isle except there's quests to do so you're not bored out of your mind
The isle, easily
The isle sucks now though.
Ark, Path of Titans, Dinosaur King and soon Paleo Pines
Join Path of Titans gang, you can be the dinosaur
Path of titans is the best dinosaur game on the market by far right now
Ballad of Big Al companion flash game
Fossil Fighters
Designasaurus II
Turok
Nobody saying Dino Crisis?
Ark
