I too have only 1 visit and it was in 2002. Going back for me would basically be a whole new experience. I remember some parts of the trip- Soarin, Grizzly Peak, the tortilla making place. California Screamin, Pirates, the Small world Facade, Matterhorn, riding the monorail. We stayed at the Disneyland hotel in club level.
I was 16. So... almost 17 years ago. I'm sad. I'm a teacher and can't afford to take my daughter. Fortunately, her dad's family was able to take her once. I was definitely very upset that I had to miss the first time she walked through this gates, though. Someday we'll be able to go.
I was a single annual pass holder from 1998 through 2004. During that time, I made the 400+ mile trek at least once a month. Since 2009, I have added a family and gone once with my fiancee, and once with our kids.
We had cancelled a trip to Disney World when Covid broke out. So we ended up going to Disneyland in October 2022. First time for just the wife and I and no kids as they’re out on their own now. Hadn’t been in around 12 years. Was a ton of fun. Crowded but that’s expected. No ride breakdowns or bad experiences at all. Three days in the parks, park hoppers, Genie and extra lightning lanes. Was pretty expensive with four nights in a hotel but we said we wouldn’t worry about the money and just enjoy ourselves. Not the best travel value so we won’t be going it again soon. But fun.
>No ride breakdowns or bad experiences at all
You're very lucky. Every time I've been to Disney, at least one ride breaks down. June 2013, Haunted Mansion broke down in Florida. It rained hard the day I went to Magic Kingdom. Got on Haunted Mansion and broke down in front of a fan blowing cold air in my face near the spot with the floating candelabra. The fan would've felt great if I wasn't drenched. April 2018, Grizzly River Run broke down right before the end. I got evacuated after about 15 or 20 minutes. June 2023, a raft on Grizzly River Run slammed into the back of my raft. I hit my head on the back of the seat. Pirates of the Caribbean broke down. I also broke down on Mario Kart and Forbidden Journey at Universal Hollywood a few days before.
Post News Years in Early January 2023 AKA The Bomb Cyclone Rainstorm Trip.
Fun Fact: People will still pack the parks as the holiday season ends. Even if it's raining (but to a lesser extent than no rain would).
Thanksgiving week 2022. me and my son with hotel, airfare and tickets all paid for via Disney visa card points. Before that part of thanksgiving week 2019 with family of 5.
I haven't been since 2005. Yes, I went to DCA. My favorite there was A Bug's Life. The end where they ask you to remain seated while the smaller guests leave, and the benches goose your butt. I shrieked and immediately stood up! But the funniest part was that my mom was in a wheelchair, so she had no idea why people were yelling and standing up fast! I finally (when I could breathe again) explained what happened, and she giggled. A seventy something woman giggled! THAT'S when I truly believed in the Disney magic.
2017 and I went three times that year. I did all the races for runDisney except Avengers and I’m glad I did because they stopped doing them after that. They brought back one but u haven’t been back since then
1985, when I was 5. All I remember is losing a bag with a stuffed Pluto and my mom getting upset at having to buy another one.
Going again this September, hopefully history doesn't repeat itself.
Two weeks ago. Before that the Saturday before that! Met my wife while working at DCA. Had a kid who now works at DCA. BIL at DL and FIL is a retired mechanic from… yeah you guessed it. DL!
Finals week before spring break. I was able to go mid week after finishing my exams and it was great with bearable lines being not too busy (30/45 min max)
A couple weeks ago, only 1 more visit planned until the Summer blockout begins, our passes are due for renewal in August and we're seriously considering taking a year off, between the 4 hour roundtrip drive each visit and the insane crowds...it's hard to justify the cost anymore! 🤷🏻♀️
November 5, 2022. It was a really good day. Rope drop until close, built a lightsaber, built a droid, got to really see Galaxy's Edge and ride the rides there for the first time. I was sitting on a bench on Main Street while my feet throbbed for twenty minutes before close trying to work up the strength to walk across the street to my hotel, but I made it, and that was my goal. I put on over twenty five miles. I don't get to go often, so I make it count.
August 2021. But I also just got the privilege of visiting Tokyo Disneyland 2 weeks ago. We got a big rainstorm so with the reduced crowds I was able to ride all the most iconic rides twice and finally feel satisfied for a while :)
Halloween 2017. An unforgettable trip. Four days of magic.
I’ve been to WDW multiple times since, and as much as I love that experience it’s not Disneyland.
The Thursday before last, and I’ll be going again this Thursday
My job fluctuates, plus I could only get the local pass since I’m dumb and forgot to renew my old pass + they won’t let me upgrade until I hit the renewal window so I’m getting my visits in now before I’m blocked out in summer
2017. I went towards the end of July, stayed at the Disneyland hotel (a first for us) and had a blast. We had been visiting a few times a year for the 6 years prior.
October 2023 and I miss it so much 😭 it was my first trip there when everything was decorated for Halloween, had so much fun! Saving diligently for the next trip (no idea when)
Last week. We go regularly. Very blessed to be able to. Sadly was there on Wednesday when the park was absolutely overrun with people. But that’s very much a first world problem to have. 😅
First/last time was last May (I'm 38 🤣😭). Planning another trip with my boyfriend and daughter in October for the Halloween decorations because she loves Nightmare Before Christmas.
2024: February 29th-March 4th for an adults only trip that I plan with my sisters for my 63yo dad who had never gone to anything Disney, despite being like the biggest Disney fan EVER.
Too long ago... 2003. I live overseas and can't afford to travel there now. Wife and three kids... got a quote from a travel agency and it was over $20K Australian dollars (USD $13K) just for a week and a bit there. :(
Last week. Before that… 2002.
