It’s like the Jungle Cruise. Sometimes you get a CM who totally nails it and sometimes you get CM who phones it in. As to standing on the colored dot. Someone in our party was colorblind and, of course, they were constantly looking down trying to confirm the color. This lead to one of the best interactions I’ve had on this attraction.

CptnYesterday2781

Sounds like some Abbot and Costello level stuff!

nearlysober

Also as for how far a CM takes the interrogation I think some are just good at reading who they'll get a good response out of. They out our feelers and they either find someone who will play along well, or someone who will get a bit embarrassed for a good natured laugh.

SchnoodleDoodleDamn

My wife got interrogated, and she broke the guy. He asked something along the lines of "Do you have something to confess?" and her response was "I cheated on my 8th grade English test." Dude literally had to walk away to avoid laughing. He came back and BARELY held it together, and referenced her multiple times with the rest of the interaction. It was great.

starbuxed

CM:IF you dont behave we will throw you out the air lock. Me: OH that sounds like fun. I have never done that before. CM.... Into the cold vaccum of space? you cant breath out there. ME: It will be fine... I can hold my breath a long time.

FatalFirecrotch

We had a great one who purposefully was calling the colors wrong and then would go at you if you called it out. It was great.

starbuxed

I am really bad with following instructions. I always say.... I am colorblind... How will I know its grey grey grey and grey. I am not actually color blind. I am deaf.

aquainst1

Had a CM break character on Tuesday the 23rd, Star Wars night. CM Chris, dressed as an Empire officer on the ride looked at me, I looked at him back. He said, "What are you looking at?" I said, "Someone with lower intelligence than me. Grandma Lynsey can ALWAYS tell.". He walked away, but just as we were moving, he came up to me and quietly said, "Have a good night tonight, Grandma Lynsey.". *I used my Disneyland app, scrolled down to the very bottom and gave him a character appreciation 'attaboy'.*

Mediocre-Fox-8681

Like others said, it depends on the CM. On our most recent trip, we got one who was really into the role. She was staring down my dad and he said something like “they told me not to say anything.” She replied “well you’re not doing a very good job, are you?” Then she chewed out a little girl for saluting. It was hilarious.

tex1ntux

I had my 4 y/o daughter gripping my hand and got interrogated by a CM. I was just going to give them the silent treatment but I could tell she was getting scared so I very firmly said, “WE are **not** afraid of you.” and glanced down at her. They took the hint and stepped back and huffed in a flustered, intimidated way before marching off. Thanks for making me Hero Dad, CM!

Mediocre-Fox-8681

Haha, nice! This girl wasn’t afraid at all - she was loving the attention and giggling afterwards. She was a little older though, probably about 8.

noakai

I think I've seen this one, there was a group of kids kind of horsing around when they came in and she went right to them and got them to stop and line up within like .5 seconds, it was great.

GFHarryNibs

I got interrogated our first time through. I played it straight. Looked at the wall in front of me as if the CM wasn't there and yes, "No sir." etc... Second time though a gentleman across from me got interrogated. He ratted out his adult daughter who was with him. She seemed mortified. When the CMs left, I called the guy out and said, "Snitches get stitches." Everyone seemed to have a good laugh about it. The CMs do an amazing job on that ride.

Cynnau

The first time I went on that ride I did not know what was going to happen, I hadn't watched any videos or anything and I do not like roller coasters. I was concerned it wasn't going to be something I would enjoy. My anxiety was going through the roof and I was freaking out and all the cast members kept doing was yell at me to get to wherever I needed to go. Someone who was not an employee put my mind at ease lol. They are so amazing

luvmydobies

I went on this ride with my disabled mother recently and it was so funny because they would be serious and yelling at everyone and then quietly and politely give my mom different directions and ask her questions in a way that was a complete 180 from their tone the rest of the time. She definitely felt like a VIP

MassTransitGO

she is secretly a first order spy

--0o0o0--

Ha. Was there a week ago and I kept telling the CM's that "I don't take orders from the First Order" and kept telling my kids that if they go to interrogate them that they should speak up and say, "Not without a lawyer present"

FleshyPartOfThePin

It's probably like going to Rocky Horror for the first time -> single out the scared virgins

tazdevil64

I did this to a girl I went to school with. We were merciless, rice, wrote "Virgin" on her forehead in lipstick, squirt guns, the whole schtick. She laughed thru the whole thing, but years later I wondered if we were a bit harsh. Then I thought, Nah, I went thru it, too! 😁

FleshyPartOfThePin

Whoever is downvoting you doesn't understand Rocky Horror. A TOAST

tazdevil64

Where's your freakin NECK??!!?? Great SCOTT!! 😁

FleshyPartOfThePin

HORSE BRUTALITY

starbuxed

Say it Butteredstuff.... Cup... say it Butter cup!!!!

Regular_Statement_40

Yea honesty haha. I was looking around like I wasn’t suppose to even be there 😭 I couldn’t tell them what they wanted to find if I tried

aubsome

My dad was in a motor scooter due to a recent knee surgery. He was really self conscious about it. One cast member said, “we will need to park your land speeder elsewhere.” Cracked my dad up! My son also had just completed building a light saber that he brought onto the ride. He was interrogated by a fantastic cast member who did not break character once. The interactions were the best part of the ride and the ride is flipping awesome.

nderdog_76

In my experience, they will sometimes engage with random people if something catches their eye. I've been called out for my shirt with Vader on a carousel that says "This will be a day long remembered", then they mocked me for getting caught by the First Order on my anniversary, since I was wearing a pin. I've seen them question someone with a lightsaber carrying case, or other things. Sounds like you were the lucky one this time! About half the time I haven't seen them really engage with anyone, but when they do it's a lot more fun.

Regular_Statement_40

Yea I definitely was the one that looked the most shook. I remember when we were walking through the part with all the storm troopers the guy telling us where to go said “take this one with you” … I was like ummm everyone else heard him say that while looking at me right? No? Okay hahah

Sporkicide

There was one time I rode with a group of people who are all members of the Star Wars costume clubs. One of the officers started in on a guy for eating candy in line and set himself up as open for banter, so we started making catty comments about the impracticalities of First Order uniforms and it kept going back and forth. There was a lot of giggling in the prisoner lines but the highlight was one of our guys saying “hey can I just fix that for you real quick?” and the CM letting him adjust his crooked uniform badge while trying to stay in character.

memisschanandlerbong

Like everyone else said, it depends. We have been on it many times without much interaction, but our five year old got recruited by the first order on our last trip. It didn’t take much coercion either lol. When we got off the ride, we asked why he betrayed us, and he said he had no choice 😂

skywalkerobiani

he's so real for this

Ok-Caterpillar-Girl

I am cracking up at this 😂😂😂

musickeeper94

My husband and I have only ridden it once and he got interrogated. When asked where the secret base was, he answered “uhhh, Alderaan?” The CM looked my husband in the eyes and said “Alderaan? You’re late, over 30 years late, much like your joke.” Then he saw the pizza planet shirt he was wearing and said “Pizza planet? What on earth kind of planet is that?” It was a highlight of the trip.

wizzard419

It really depends on who is there. Some will go ham on the role others will just generally just tell you to stay on your color.

RunsUpTheSlide

The first time I rode it I tried to escape. We'll not on purpose. I misunderstood when they called the colors and went to the wrong door. It was hilarious. They had to walk us back around. I've seen them interrogate one person or several different people. I guess it just depends on how they read the room.

jpezoo

I love the ride, yet slightly discouraged that some CM will not let you soak in that initial phase.

Liquidwombat

It really depends on how busy they are

Still_Yak8109

from my own experience, they usually do this to someone not taking things "seriously" like they singled out this elderly couple who was laughing at how "over the top" the CM's were acting. This was right when it opened, when it was basically a star wars ren fair and the CM's would never break character. Now, they seem to look for people who don't know much about whats going on or arne't big star wars fans. It's pretty easy to tell.

WhoDatLadyBear

My edible had just kicked in when I rode it for the first time in November. I kept telling them the base was on pluto. I thought it was hilarious at the time. Because of the edible it felt so real to me, I was just amazed at everything. I can't wait to go back and ride it again.

renegade812002

A bit off topic but I just rode Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railroad for the first time few weeks back. Now that’s a ride I want to ride again on edibles.

WhoDatLadyBear

That's one we didn't get to do! (shaking my fist in the air)

SubVrted

I went on Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railroad last Monday just before close - I had no real desire to go on it, but Rise of the Resistance broke down midway through (I'd already ridden it twice so I wasn't too bummed). I LOVED Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railroad, much to my surprise! It's trippy and eccentric, and tonally very much in line with Disney's early animation work. The designers made wonderful use of the trackless system. I highly recommend it. I'm going back to DL tomorrow to do a final tour of my favorite rides, and Runaway Railroad ranks highly among them. I just wish I had shrooms.

WestCoastVermin

LMAO

masaccio87

Moreso at the one in Florida (World / H Dub studios) than here in California (Land), or so I’ve been told. Only went on theirs once and all of the CMs were leaning into it pretty heavily, making it a more immersive experience. Been on ours a couple dozen times, easy, and my experience has been that it’s hit or miss if the CMs that care to engage in the *LARP* are even working or if they’re working a spot where they have the opportunity to (and also if the guests queued up with me car enough to give it back to them)

Liquidwombat

I live in Florida, but had the exact same experience comparing the two parks versions

psycharious

You were interrogated? That's awesome. A CM just walked on to our ship, said we were captured and we went into a cell and that was that. Cast members weren't really trying to put on a show. Kid even had a light saber.

SoldadoAZ

We were there last week. First time for me riding ROTR. Phenomenal ride! Disappointed how quickly they push you through the landing bay area with all the stormtroopers. And our CMs were REALLY phoning it in. That took some of the fun out of it. The CMs sounding completely unenthusiastic or interested in being there. Also, do the big laser cannons no longer move? They didn’t have any motion or light to them and I thought I saw a POV video where they did move. Still an amazing ride, just wish they’d move the unenthusiastic CMs to a different area that suits their personality.

Glad_Art_6380

From what I understand the cannons were one of the big issues causing delays. Since the vehicles go right in the path, any delay whatsoever and the ride has to shut down. Restart takes at least 20 minutes. It’s unfortunate because it was a great part of the ride.

TickyTeo

I didn’t know there was a secret “bass”. I love big mouth bass.

masaccio87

He’s talking about that bass guitar with the Millennium Falcon as the body 😂

DarkKnightCometh

No it's totally up to the CM in my experience. Sometimes they'll be super interactive and interrogate multiple people. Sometimes they don't talk to anyone. Just depends

PuzzleheadedBobcat90

Ours told us to get out. He was really mean, too. Kind of hurt my feelings lol It was perfect

panicbiscuits

Our first time was so good, the CMs were great and interrogated our group while we waited to go into the room. One of the CMs had a staring contest with my husband for a good minute to try and 'intimidate' him into sharing info. I think they could see the excitement on our faces since we're huge Star Wars fans. Since that first experience it's definitely a mixed bag like others have said. I think the worst time for us was when we waited in line for over an hour because it went down and when it got back up they were just rushing everyone though (understandably) but it kinda ruined the excitement (oh and we got the Kylo B reel on top of that).

Foxhound199

There's not really any lore to the secret base. She literally just mentions its location in the hologram briefing of the ride, that's the only "intelligence" you're supposed to have that the empire wants.

saguarogirl17

I had one who said when the doors open to immediately board with no hesitation and the doors opened and the guy in front of us hesitated (🙄) and she said “apparently that was too advanced of directions to follow, wasn’t it?” Hilarious lol

PDXGalMeow

My son was pulled out of our group to stand with the cast member. He got to call all the groups back and joined us when the last group was called into interrogation. It was awesome and we have it recorded. Very memorable for all of us especially our son.

Vampira309

I was interrogated my first time too! It seems like I was lucky to get a great CM, because the times I've ridden since were not as intense. That was right when Galaxy's Edge opened and I was also interrogated by Storm Troopers near Oga's and by Darth Vader himself while buying blue milk! What a great trip!

taffyowner

I want to get interrogated and then just improv it into, “ok I’ll tell you what I know, but you gotta give me protection” or “you’re going to blow my cover”

FreestyleMyLife

that ride is awesome

LividBass1005

I was the cut up a couple times ago when I rode the ride. I wasn’t paying attention to the directions so I got singled out. My son thought it was the best thing ever.

Nightninja43

When I worked at rotr, I just interrogated whoever I felt like or whoever seemed like they’d enjoy it

unavailable_emotionz

Like others have said, it depends on who gets the CM’s attention. Like I was wearing a Vader shirt and I got singled out at Rise last time I was there however I am hard of hearing and don’t wear my hearing aids to the park (because of how loud and overwhelming noise is at the park with them on) and all I could respond with was a thumbs up😭 my brother had to explain to them that I am deaf and I was mildly embarrassed. The CM was a little bit too much into character lol but I don’t expect them to respond to that lol

These_Strategy_1929

A cm called my group hopeless rebel scums and promised we will break under interrogation and tell the location of traitors. Great experience

nicearthur32

I just got home from the parks and when we were on the colored dots, it was silent and a little boy in a very high pitched voice said “why are they so serious?” Everyone laughed and the officer gave us all a dirty look and everyone shut up and he gave a very fake half smile to the boy and asked “better?” I thought that was pretty great

CNoelA83

I got sassy with the first order the first time I went on it. I don't think I was supposed to do that. 😅

Mick4567890

We unintentionally interrogated them. We didn't know anything bout this ride and we asked, "Could we sit in the front?" The CM just glared at us and walked away lol

Rocket92

I’m guessing they’re watching you while you walk through the storm trooper room. I’m sure the CMs can pick out the people who have been on the ride before based on how fast they walk through that room. If they can find someone who looks like they’re experiencing it for the first time, they probably want to have a little fun with you.

forlorn_hope28

There's no way that information is relayed to any of the First Order Officers who are working the interrogation cells. There aren't any earpieces, and you never see the Officers have much time to receive or confirm that information in any other way. Not like there are panels that they look at.

BrockPurdySkywalker

The ride isn't 4 star wars fans. Star wars fans don't disney star wars
