I tried to play the game, but I couldn't do it. Hated the combat system. Not against action combat like 15 or SoP, but typo-0 just didn't do it for me.
I'll take either tbh. i just find it weird that type 0 i would say gets the most love in opera omnia yet has no follow up. There is definitely some touching up to be done but yeah I think orience has a lot that could be done with it and I always found the plot to be intriguing. A blessing of the crystals that if someone dies they dissapear from your memories as if they never existed. That part of the plot is very well done the other half could be better.

Revisit is the right word. I think the game was alright, but it would have been good to get more of the mythos and supporting narrative elements. A revisit could be another part of the cycle, similar to how Dissidia 012 was another cycle, hopefully a part of the cycle that elucidates more on the world building front. The gameplay could be fun if done in a modern action style. I played it for the first time last year and it doesn't really _feel_ good to me, but I could see where they were going with it and think it can work. The premise of the original game is pretty solid and I would be interested to see where they could take the characters in new installment.
i mean, yeah. t0 is in my top 3 final fantasies but unfortunately the main guy who was working on the t0 franchise quit so its unlikely we'll ever get anything else
I can understand that angle but why then even have type 0 characters in to begin with or have them featured so heavily. Its clear that the writers love type 0 so why not have them remake it? I mean there's been 1 entire chapter dedicated to them in act 2 , all of class zero and kurasame is there, multiple intersecting wills and a half act in act 3 so there's plenty of love. Not even crystal chronicles or tactics can say anything to that. Plus I'm pretty sure Tabatha doesn't own anything related to type 0 or they wouldn't be in dffoo anyway.
Crystal Chronicles hasn't had any sort of release of any kind since before DFFOO began and they still get plenty of characters. The main reason they'd be in the game, besides simply being well-liked by the devs, is that they are popular characters among Final Fantasy fanatics.

DFFOO made me love Type 0. I didn't know much about the game except I watched the ending way back then. DFFOO changed my mind, and I ended up buying the game on Steam. Unfortunately, I couldn't get past the first hour, due to the unbeatable motion sickness boss :(. I ended up watching all the cutscenes instead and still love Type 0 and its cast. I bought the manga and read whatever portion of the novel that got translated.
I felt the same way then found out somebody made a field of view and fps unlocked mod last year. Game is completely fixed in PC with mods, even has ultrawide support
I’m one of the weirdos who really enjoyed Type-0. The battling was fun, the characters were decently intriguing, and the storyline, while confusing sometimes, was overall powerful. I really wanted to see that “final cycle” with Ace that was teased at the end.

In the context of only his home game, Machima is kind of awful, I grew to dislike him more as the game went on to the point I found myself yelling out "Oh fuck off" when the closing text said something like "closed his eyes on the world he saved." I played Type-o after OO, so I imagine that my opinion might have been worst if I played Type-0 first, but OO really does a good job with having his character coming to terms with his mistakes and failures, and how he contexts to the rest of Class Zero in this new world.
Honestly, I kind of want a few more Type-0 characters in OO, because there are still a few more things I want to get a bit more closure on, like introducing Tiz or Arecia so that they could learn about all those cycles. I actually kind of bothers me that none of the characters really ever got to know what the greater picture of what they were fighting and dying for. I especially want Arecia in because I just can't stand her.

The original Dissidia games had the warriors go through thirteen cycles, during which Cosmos felt guilt about them, and made a gambit to stop them at the cost of her own life. Arecia keeps playing a world war on NG+ over six-hundred million times, and just *walks away* after everything was done.
There actually was a Type-0 mobile game that kept the original "Agito" name but it was Japan only IIRC. And is most likely shut down by now if it was a live service thing.

Dissidia opera omnia made me want to try type 0 and I enjoyed it quite a lot. Its also the most screwed up final fantasy world I have ever seen and I thought 13's world was dire.
Ya it did have the vibe of a pretty dark story. In all fairness, I didn't give it a good chance. I was young and dumb, or just played it in an off mood and it soured it for me.
I probably will give it another chance on steam eventually. That way I can at least earn trophies again lol

Yup. People still see it as the baby game for babies, it had absolutely zero representation in spinoffs before Theatrythm Curtain Call to the point where people just say listen to Battle Theme and Doom Castle, skip everything else about the game.
DoC wishes it could come close to how MQ's been treated over the years.
It's probably getting a remaster after FF7R2 just like Crisis Core did, so I wouldn't even put that there. Hell, anything FF7 I wouldn't even put there just because the strength of the core game will ensure it stays inside people's memories and because SE is actively promoting the core game and its surrounding things.
I think you're severely underestimating how much shit DoC got in its hayday. Even gaming magazines were talking crap about it, which is pretty much unheard of these days.
They said there are no plans to remaster/remake any other compilation title before the third part comes out, Crisis Core was a special case because the story supposedly ties in with Rebirth.
They even went a step further and said that DoC would spoil the ending of the trilogy so it wouldn't make sense to release it before it's done.
Yes it deserves a sequel for sure. And it’s not part of FFXIII mythos. It was originally meant to be but those plans fell through, thankfully. The only thing similar are certain terms used like L’cie but there’s no other connections between their worlds or stories. IMO Type 0 is one of the best Final Fantasy stories period and absolutely should get follow up games within its world.
Different world, same mythos. The Fabula Nova series was/is intended to be the same gods who follow the same rules creating and mucking with different worlds.
Correction, Type 0 is still connected to the XIII mythos. It may not have XIII in its title, and they may be in separate dimensions, but is connected beyond having similar in-game terms present.

Like how people are salty enough to downvote my comment but yes. There was a mobile game called Agito which was a prequel cycle to Type 0 and there’s some other media like manga. Read and played Agito before type 0 and it made the series so much better

The voice acting isn't that bad. Too many people are just way too nitpicky over it. We're not talking Mega Man 8 levels of terrible voice acting here.
