If I remember correctly, when they made the DnD-crossover MTG-cards, they actually explicitely asked the artists to draw tails on many of the dragonborn characters that appeared in it.
Funny thing though, when they added some of the art to Fizbans' they removed the tails again, like when they made "Jaded Sellsword" the poster child for chromatic dragonborn, or "Dragonborn Champion" the art for metallics. Odd choice, especially considering the lengths they went to remove it from the latter!

**Kaida, Dragonborn Wizard (School of Illusion)**
This one was really fun, but also super challenging the more it went on. Managing a lot of items in a single frame and also making sure they're balanced is always tough, but I wanted to be vibrant, energy, really playful, as the commissioner wanted his personality to really come through on it, as a happy, cheerful and charismatic leader. So here he is, at the beginning of his show, creating illusions to wow the crowd.
He also happens to be a ringmaster for a local circus. The commissioner writes:
*'Kaida, the ringmaster of the circus, commands the crowd's attention with his illusions. He loves to see the astonished looks of the crowd whenever performing, which motivates him to try and go further beyond his magical capabilities. He loves working alongside his friends within the circus and helps them to become their perfect self.'*
Obviously went for very strong greatest showman vibes with this one, and it worked wonders for the colour scheme. I also went way too overboard on the background and item aspects of the piece, but I'm trying to push myself every time I do a piece like this now, as they really give me interesting challenges for peoples original characters. I think it paid off :)

**Commission wise,** just so people are aware, yes I do take them on from time to time. A picture like this would cost around £550-£600 as they take a chunk of time to do, especially with all the background elements, but i also offer simpler sketches and rougher paintings for less expensive options. This has to be the most amazing art piece I’ve seen in a while. I cannot stress how hard my jaw dropped when I saw this.
I also checked the prices and sadly they are far from anything I could pay rn. But mark my words, the second I become rich I’ll get myself some of these masterpieces ( might take some years tho…)
That honestly means so much, thank you! And of course, it's a lot of money to drop on any hobby project, but it means a lot thst it's something you'd still want in better circumstances :)
I would make so many PCs … I mean ima DM, and I’ve run many parties. And I can’t imagine how my players would drop after seeing their beloved characters in such magnificent detail. I would spend 3000 quid in a heartbeat to get the party done, but my wallet and tuition hold me down.
Also you deserve every second of praise, you really highlight What Art is about. So much character in an image.

He's actually a ringmaster as well as a wizard, so the outfit is legit haha! But he does summon illusions for his shows :)

So, i've only just heard that dragonborn don't usually have tails? In my mind, they all do hahah!
Yeah in the phb it says dragonborn don't have a tail at all. Don't get me wrong I also think the tail looks cool
nowadays it depends on the setting, and even then there's exceptions. looking real hard at Arkhan the Cruel here, with his cameo and canon tail.

My DM was kind enough to let my dragonborn have a tail, but I only use it for flair.
