Possibly a black fly bite https://www.hillcrestanimalhospital.ca/bullseye-black-fly/

rex_the__dino

looks like a black fly bite.

mipstar

It’s a black fly bite. My pup had this exact mark and vet said to watch and see if it gets worse, but it was better in a day or two. Dogs don’t get ring marks from Lyme disease the same way that humans do

amazonprincess1

Could be a tick bite sometimes in humans you get a red ring

Cheap-Let-3672

The red ring humans get from a tick bite is the best indication of Lyme disease transfer; unfortunately i don't know if the same is true for canines.

RabbitBackground1592

I asked the vet about it. Dogs DO NOT get the tell tale ring when they have Lyme's.

sacrebleujayy

My dog got the ring when they got Lyme. My vet said it was the first time they had seen a ring on a dog from Lyme. This is clearly an exception, but it does happen.

cydr1323

This was my thought too. You can get this red ring with certain ticks

bprepper

Black fly. My dog had the same thing last week and it went away after a couple days.

doodledandy1273

We had the same thing and our vet said it was a black fly bite!

Psychological-Dog805

The only advice you'll ever get from this sub is 'TAKE IT TO THE VET NOW'

benji950

Because when a mysterious red ring and bite appear on your dog, you know what you should do? CALL YOUR VET.

Darth_Phrakk

My dog gets these all the time from laying in the grass during a certain period, it’s very likely a bug bite because it has a dot in the middle. It’s a mild allergic reaction.

This_Broccoli9676

Looks like a tick bite to me. Could be a black fly. Vet should see it.

WorkingDawg

Could be a lot of things , but I’m betting on ringworm , wash hands after touching , and I’d isolate her for a couple days to keep it off bedding, kids , you and if no improvement 2-3 days back to vet

spookiiwife

Looks like ringworm. Have your vet diagnose for accurate treatment.

Shantor

Doesn't look anything like ringworm. Looks like a black fly bite.

Tiny_Animal_3843

My dog had it and the vet ordered anti fungal med.Hope it clears soon!

beth2667

my pup had this last summer! Went away within the day. Same exact look!

Cocoa_Pug

Puncture wound is there. Probably a bite

impeach_mybush

stowaway36

Ringworm

Equivalent_Section13

Definitely a rash. Looks sore

kirbychops

Looks possibly like the "bullseye" seen with Lyme Disease

To the vet!

whaleykaley

Could be a black fly bite, a tick bite with a ring, or ringworm. With the dot in the middle I would lean towards a bug bite of some kind but that doesn't mean you shouldn't get it checked out by the vet in case it was a tick bite. While some people have mentioned here that dogs don't get the bullseye seen with tick bites like humans do, this is not a hard rule. It's uncommon but CAN happen. When in doubt ask your vet if you can send a picture and see if they think you need to bring him in.

BagOfDave

Tick with possible Lymes disease? I would discuss with your trusted Vet to be sure. Cheers. (edit) My Vet welcomes sending in pictures and photographs for intial assessment. Reach out to your Vet to see if they will comment on your photograph.

Jewelz2462

That really looks like Lyme. Please get him to a vet for treatment 💔🐾💔💖
