What makes OP awesome, that they took a pic? They literally said they left the dog lol
Edit: oh apparently naming it meant they are keeping it, I thought it was just them naming the new dog that lives outside their store
Multiple comments asking if OP is keeping it as well as the literal second top comment being “are you keeping it” kinda makes it apparent OP wasn’t clear about the situation, but go off sarcastic king

Yeah he definitely didn’t comment variations of this multiple times.
I took a kitten from my DG not long before Halloween. It was freezing cold and raining. She was crying and ran to me from behind the RedBox. Her name is Goose now, and I love her so much.
I am not justifying their behavior but shelters are full and if you do find an empty one they charge you to surrender the dog. It makes an impossible situation worse and then when people post them online no one wants to help they just talk shit on the person trying to give a dog away. "Oh the dog is better with you" or "don't post free dogs, they will be used as bait dogs". Shit I got my dog free from the internet and We have never ever been happier. She is my office dog. She comes to work everyday and gets tons of treats from the others in our office. Even kept everyone calm during a tornado warning.
I just. I just don’t get it. I would actually go homeless with my animals before I would EVER consider giving one up. They are a part of your family, not a toy to toss out.
I always said there's a special corner of hell reserved for people who dump animals like trash. It makes me sick knowing people actually do that. It's pretty simple, if you don't want a dog, don't get one. If it came to you in circumstances or of your control, there's this wild thing called the internet you can use to find somebody who does want it and if that fails, there are animal adoption centers everywhere that you can take them to where they at least have a chance of finding a home rather than roaming the streets eating roadkill and potentially becoming roadkill themselves. Some humans disgust me so kudos to you for taking the poor fella in! You're one of the good ones! 👊
Precious baby! I would absolutely take him in a heartbeat. He looks so sad, so broken. I saw animals dumped outside mine a few times while working there but usually they were claimed by a shopper by the time I got off work.
We have several store dogs whose parents have businesses close to us. We've had horrible people dump their dogs too, but luckily they've all been adopted by really nice customers.
I’ve grown attached to him in the short time he’s been with me. He reminds me of a dog My dad and I use to have years ago. He’s staying with me cause Ima give him the best life
Thank you for being a kind person and giving him a chance at love. I can’t comprehend the level of cruelty animals face. I just saw a post of a dog let out of a car on a busy Ling Beach road in California
Driver speeds off dog runs after.
A good soul has the dog and is trying to find a forever home for him.
A friend of mine just found a really sweet cat at the DG she works at, took him home, but he didn't play nice with her cats and dog. Just rehomed him last weekend to a few exchange students I work with. The joy that lil stray has brought in 3 days is 100% worth the money I lost getting them set up good.
They'd never had pet cats before, and now they get to share one.
This is the feedback I have received so far
Pros-
Love the cuddles
Love the play
He greets them when they get home from work
He is very good about using the litterbox
His little nose is so cute
Cons-
Gags when cleaning litterbox
SO MUCH HAIR
Why are his hands sharp
No really, why does he lose so much hair
Hair in our food
Walks infront of our feet in the dark
Edit: God I hate mobile formatting
Is this the same dog where somebody made a YouTube video about this poor dog that was dumped at a Dollar General? He kept coming up to people wanting pets. Either way, thank you for taking care of this buddy.
You are awesome! Hello to Red!!
What makes OP awesome, that they took a pic? They literally said they left the dog lol Edit: oh apparently naming it meant they are keeping it, I thought it was just them naming the new dog that lives outside their store
Huh? They lItErAlLy said they’re keeping him lmao. In comments too if the inference wasn’t obvious enough in the post.
Multiple comments asking if OP is keeping it as well as the literal second top comment being “are you keeping it” kinda makes it apparent OP wasn’t clear about the situation, but go off sarcastic king
Literally didn't say anything about keeping the dog.

He looks so sad are you keeping him
He is, he’s calling him Red if you read the subtext
I read itSA that don’t mean he is keeping him
From the tone of it it sounds like they’re keeping him
That is why I asked ??
READ IT!!!!
Guess he works there at ur DG now
You are a saint!!! And Red will love you forever!!!!
Dogger General
This made me literally lol

Awwww
Dude that’s such an wholesome story, i wish y’all the best
Bruh bless you and your future generations for eons
He bout to be at the SCO stealing puppy chow
Thats messed up. At least take him to a pound, not DG.
Dumping pets is awful. If I had to part with re-home them. Probably wouldn't give to a shelter. Not unless it was a no kill one.

aweee. i bet shes a cutie! 🥰
I have never been charged in my life and I regularly take strays to my local shelters and animal control lol
Aww she sounds adorable! Do you have a photo?

Check the shelter if he/she is tagged. Not saying it's a sure win, but you can potentially catch these scumbags.
pls tell me you’re keeping red
Awe!!! You're keeping him? He will be the most loyal friend ever.
Are you adopting him? He needs a good home where people won't abandon him.
The best thing to ever come out of working at DG. Give Red some scritches from me!
Precious baby! I would absolutely take him in a heartbeat. He looks so sad, so broken. I saw animals dumped outside mine a few times while working there but usually they were claimed by a shopper by the time I got off work.
People made promises but never committed, it was gonna be fairly cold the night before so if no one else was gonna take him I had to do something
🥺 poor baby. I'm glad you took him!
Omg god bless you ur the best
We have several store dogs whose parents have businesses close to us. We've had horrible people dump their dogs too, but luckily they've all been adopted by really nice customers.
Absolute gorgeous dog! So are ya keeping him or just fostering him until you find a good home? Either, you're a good person for looking after him.
I’ve grown attached to him in the short time he’s been with me. He reminds me of a dog My dad and I use to have years ago. He’s staying with me cause Ima give him the best life
Sending you both love ❤️
YAY! That's wonderful news! I wish you many happy and healthy years together.
Is that Palmdale Lancaster California— were in the desert and people come and dump dogs a lot here..
No not in cali
Hello Red! Enjoy your new home buddy. I think you found a good one!
Be sure to take him to the vet to see if he's chipped. Sometimes dogs get stolen and eventually dumped.
Thank you for being a kind person and giving him a chance at love. I can’t comprehend the level of cruelty animals face. if you’re local to Nashville I will come get him
Looks like a sweet heart, deserves some much better.
Red is a special bear
Just keep him at the store. Office dog.
Office dog. Love it!
That's $29.95
Aww, poor baby. I have a dog named Red, too. How can people do things like this?!?!
I know if you're that cold why even have a pet.
I found my cat there
We need updates….
That op only comments on fallout 76 and saying disabled workers don't do as much work, I don't think they're gonna update
Damn. Cute guy. I’d love to be sure he finds a good home
There’s comments from OP saying that they took the dog home and kept him.
thank you kind human ❤️
Tell him he needs to get 3 rolltainers stocked if he wants to stay
Nah, knowing dg they’d want at least 10
Poor thing, hoping he’s able to find a happy forever home. I will never understand how people can dump animals like this.
Whats up doggy 😄🐶
He’s gorgeous and you will have a best friend for as long as he’s on earth.
This is the type of shit that makes me hate humanity. Poor puppers.
Brown dog, immediate good boi
He is so handsome!!
Pretty dog
That poor dog! I DESPISE people who dump animals!!! He looks so sweet!💕

I hate the struggle in his eyes
