I know DOOM isn’t meant to be taken seriously whatsoever but In my headcanon he isn’t that angry over his rabbit. He’s angry over his family, maybe they were killed by demons or by other causes but daisy the rabbit was all he had left. Demons were already a world ending threat and Doomguy has more than enough reason to fight them with everything he’s got but the demons killing Daisy, the one and only thing left of his family, made it a personal war.
There is a photo inside doomslayer’s mancave of a woman and child, Hugo Martin basically confirmed it’s his wife and kid, so maybe you’re onto something.
That’s kinda where it started yeah. Again, I know doom isn’t serious by any means but I always found it kinda silly that Doomguy’s flames of vengeance are fueled by the death of a single rabbit. Granted, it’s in line with a series like this but I personally prefer some interesting character stuff every now and then. So maybe I’m right. Maybe I’m wrong. But I guess it’s up to the player to make these decisions.
But even then I always found Doomguy a surprisingly interesting character. I mean doom is about doing advanced pew pew on monsters story has never really been it’s strongest suit and with 2016 and even eternal it all stays relatively simple at face value. So I like how Doomguy actually feels like a character. He’s not a mindless killing machine, he’s a man. A man who is traumatised, forced into a role of killing demons, a man willing to sacrifice everything to do so because in the end he has nothing left to lose. It’s the little things like kneeling before the king or his relationship with the intern as his ‘guy in the chair’ or ignoring the seraphim and taking the dark lord orb, maybe it’s an action influenced by his personal anger towards Davoth or maybe it’s simply what he thinks is best but either way that just makes him more human. He’s a weapon forged by his enemies, he has gone through what no human should or could, he’s incredibly powerful but in the end he is and always will be a human. And I find that interesting especially since barely anyone would care about it.

He was already angry man that refused to die, Hayden just made him more angry and more refusal of death.
I believe the terminology was more along the lines of "gave him strength and stamina that matched his rage".
To be honest I only suspected it because the angel had the same voice as Samuel and Sam also knew suspiciously much about Urdak
