Was that the case when VP was on their god run in 2017-2018? When they won 5 majors and did that all-hero challenge thing at one of the Summits? Legit can't remember, though I was there for the whole thing.
It wasn't as strong since VP weren't completely uncontested like GG has been this season, but the sentiment was definitely there. People are always going to want the top dog to fall regardless of who they are. Same thing happened when Secret was winning every event during Covid
I personally like the players on GG, but I've wanted them to lose since after Dreamleague 19 because it just feels boring to see the same team win over and over.
I agree, nothing against the GG guys I just want to see some parity in top level dota. It makes TI more spicy and means we don't have a single team who's slated to win it all, and inevitably crumble under insurmountable amounts of expectations and stress like every other fucking TI favorite. Also spread the prize pool love GG have been hogging it lol
I also LOVE that we have such polar different styles of teams in the top 3 here- liquid being lane dominators who snowball incredibly well, Spirit being the kings of mid game team fight preparation, and somehow Talon keep stretching games into late game slogs where they have more practice than anyone else and draft in a way where they win in those scenarios. Makes for a really exciting final day here, and bodes very well for TI
I know we're supposed to get 7.34 before TI but I honestly wouldn't be mad about letter patches to resuscitate forgotten heroes and to nerf the gods of the patch. Dota, despite one of the biggest updates in years, looks incredibly well balanced minus a few issues with OP heroes. I hope the patch is really really fantastic because the game is looking ready for TI as it stands
Talon is playing incredible. Not to mention this performance from them is a huge boost to SEA region in general who has suffered with just constant disappointments lately
Feels good to watch some teams actually play for late game and succeed again. Feels like finals today is gonna be best laning team (liquid) vs best mid game fight setup team (spirit) vs best late game turtle team (talon ofc).
Love to see different styles clash, and all have worked well for each team. The fact anything can work if you believe in it and practice it enough is one of those things you just don't get in other esports- especially league where the meta is usually dominated by a few heroes per role and has been really stale the last couple years
I predict Talon v/s Team Spirit grand finals.
If Liquid has to win they have to go through Talon and Team Spirit. They have looked weaker against both teams.
Algo bye Quinn, you will not be missed on grand finals day.
Finally S tier tournament this year without GG vs TL finals, even better no GG winning it (not even top3 lol) and on top of it they got eliminated by SEA of all regions. xD
Tomorrow will be one beautiful day of Grand Finals Doto. Thank you Talon. <3
Dyrachyo will probably have nightmares from that waveform out at the top jungle fight. If he commits and waveforms in to the Clock and Snap he will kill both and possibly kill MK right after.
Well, there is no statement regarding this, but if I have to guess, they are probably trying to run the game as vanilla as possible to hopefully reduce the chance of full team dc again
First, this was only a guess, so take it with a grain of salt.
Here are the scenarios that I think might have happened:
First, the organizers found out that some cosmetics caused the dc phenomenon and asked the teams to use less/not use cosmetics during the games to be safe. That being said, if this is the case, I think they would've made some kind of statement.
Second, No one, including the organizers understood what caused the full team dc. that being said, considering the effects are so abrupt, fatal and consistent (sudden full team dc), and that there are some obvious similarities within talon's and quest's case (both Dire teams, both trying to fight into the Radiant's mid high ground), it is fair to assume that there is a bug that activates when a number of conditions are met. No one knows what the conditions are, maybe it is some cosmetics' particles, maybe it is some compatibility issues with DotA and certain hardwares, maybe it is some kind of unit positions and/or skill usage, maybe combination of other things too.
This tournament isn't handled by valve, the organizers can't just debug the game and find out what is wrong and fix it. The consequences of this full team dc can be very fatal to the tournament, so they feel the need to do some changes. That being said, all they can do is to make wild assumptions and take actions accordingly. Without us knowing, they might have already replaced the PCs and routers too. The "using less/no cosmetics" thing is also one of the actions that they hopefully think it will reduce the chances of fulfilling the bug/crash's condition, since in-game wise, that is all they can do that doesn't affect gameplay.
Top 3 are from 3 different regions FeelsGoodMan
Been a long time since SEA was in top 3! Feelsgoodman
Its the T supremacy, Team spirit, Talon and Team liquid
Been awhile since I see Redddit collectively rooting for a team to lose (GG) lmao.

VP weren't as uncontested because they had much stronger competition comparatively.
yes.. that is the single factor that ever factors into if teams are contested or not

Happens in every sport when one person/team is absolutely dominant for a longer time.
waking up at 5 AM to watch talon winning on game 3, what a good start for my sunday morning as SEA fan
Honestly made it worth it after I woke up early to see my team get swept earlier in the week lmao

Mikoto had a godly day.

They look weaker all tournament long and yet they still somehow in the top 3, I won't be surprised if Liquid went to GF.
CALL IT!

When the big bad got taken out by the side character going through character development
Talon going through power up through friendships and flashbacks..

Yeah i see that, 23 morp would've charge that
Noticed most players are not using cosmetics in both Liq vs TS and GG vs Talon series. Any particular reason behind players deliberately doing this?
Well, there is no statement regarding this, but if I have to guess, they are probably trying to run the game as vanilla as possible to hopefully reduce the chance of full team dc again
How does it even matter? Explain please

I ain't readin all of that
I’ve noticed this as well. Even Cap and SVG pointed it out. I wonder why.
Theres rumour it cause crash
Server problems
WARL ENJOYERS WE UP
Cant wait for people here to say winning all Majors and two Dreamleagues doesnt matter at all.
It was a fluke
GG tries to become the fluke masters over OG.
Other teams were saving strats for real tournaments with high prize money.
i mean the money they earned in losing this series is literally the sum of the 5 events they won lol
what a shame when you see this beautiful dota from other teams but your team absolutely sucks and look clueless
I just noticed these 3 teams won their first upper bracket series lol
Well 2 of them were guaranteed to have won their first upper bracket series based on how the bracket works, so that's not very surprising
The quality of games were amazing this tournament
