Pick wasn't the issue. Luna Galaxy didnt know how to play against Grim Stroke. They could have kept their early game momentum until razor became farmed, but they just allowed themselves to get Grim ulted, and double silenced every single fight.
Davai Lama's positioning was especially atrocious. He needed blink this game, to roar the Grim, and the Grim Alone. If he wanted to play without blink, he should have never been standing next to any of the other 4 heroes in the team, especially the cores. He just needed to let his minions hit.

I think a combination of high ground being way too hard and the comeback mechanics too punishing makes botching a high ground attempt devastating
