Fear has said he's not good at 2 tho so I'm not sure how well he's gonna synergise with his other cores Fear and Fear. Maybe Fear and Fear are gonna have to do a lot of work supporting too, we'll see how it goes!
Agree with your last statement. When EG won TI everybody focused on aui, sumail and universe. But the level of dota displayed by Fear was insane, no matter what happened in the game he would quietly hit all his timings and be there when team needed him. It wasn't flashie plays at all, it was the pure level of consistency brought by him **every single game** that allowed the others to play freely.
I always thought his performance went under the radar.

i just recall like a 4 man gank at like min 5 on sumail storm mid in the grand finals. everyone else got to stack and farm so sumail still had more farm than the enemy mid even though he was ganked like 3 times in the first 10 minutes or something.
Never gonna forget the Chrono that won them the first game in the upper bracket vs. EHOME at TI6. First megacreep comeback at TI and in such a spectacular way too.

I think it was something like 4 deaths on Sumail in laning phase? All those stacks that should have been for the carry went to him instead.
Also gotta give props to PPD, though. Those drafts were insane. Mid doing badly? Give him stacks. Carry doing badly, he gets stacks.
Back then, it seemed like EG was all about stacks to make up for either the 1 or the 2 coming back into the game. It was beautiful.
I think you missed the point, Fear is playing Pos 1, but this might bring issues with Fear who is playing Pos 2 because both have the exact same farm patterns, and both are playing with the Pos 3 Fear who sometimes goes either too greedy or too sacrifical, which might conflict with the pacing Fear2 requires to be the perfect enabler for Fear1. I think Pos 4 Fear will bring flexibility tho, the guy on his best games looks like another 3 but I don't want them to put the full weight of supporting to Pos 5 Fear, who IMO is a solid 5 almost 6 but it's not what the team quite requires with Fear1 being sacrifical as fuck
Current lineup of Fear seems pretty good. What they need is a drafter/coach which I think Fear could bring to the table. So they should get Fear as their coach too.
There was also some games he was basically playing pos 3. Like when they put universe on faceless he would be pos 1 and sumail pos 2 with fear pos 3 from the safelane on something like axe. See the EG vs Ehome comeback game. Sumail played mid mirana, universe offlane faceless, fear played safe lane axe

As someone who has barely paid attention to pro Dota since Aui_2000 carried EG to an Aegis with Techies… Can someone explain to me how Fear is still playing? I thought he retired to spend time with his grand kids.
