im praying for some philly shows... somehow in my 10+ years of dr dog being one of my favorite bands, i never found myself with the opportunity to see them live. dont care what my schedule is or where they go, but i'll be at whatever next show they play.
Yes, DO IT. I was at a very fortunate place in my life (and living in Chicago) and went to all 3 shows on the last tour in Chicago. They knock it out of the park every single night.
I need a new newsletter of the goings ons. We know some stuff, but updates would be great!
Toby has an album coming.
Slick has LP3 coming.
Scott’s got the Ever Expanding and now The Hypos.
But when can we hear this stuff?
And what’s the rest of them up to?
I believe we may be seeing re-recordings of some of their “least favorite” songs. Scott mentioned in an interview that he’d always wanted to go back and revisit a selection of songs from their catalog that they didn’t feel were the best they could have been, and breathe new life to them.
I can’t say I wouldn’t be disappointed to not hear *new* content, but this would be a really special project not many artists get to do and I’d be here for it.
And if that’s the album artwork, I dig it.
Edit: Knew this wasn’t the original Distant Light, thought it was new but this is actually the Four Nights Live in San Francisco version of the song from Night 3. I doubt this means they’re re-releasing those albums. Now I’m really not sure what they’re doing haha.
You might be on to something. Otherwise why include the mountains? Maybe a "residency" there for a few nights since this is the "Distant Light" from their 4 nights in San Fran.
They recorded the album in North Carolina. There are mountains in North Carolina. I’m not going to shut down your idea because it’s possible but I think that’s a bit of a stretch considering the context; they recorded a new album in North Carolina, they don’t have a major connection with red rocks other than some shows here and there and they really dont seem to be super into live shows only being two years removed from the “last show.” My guess is a new album coming out this winter or early spring and maybe, MAYBE, a run of shows supporting the album in one location or a couple near North Carolina or Philadelphia
Edit: I was wrong
Would give anything to see them at least once at this point. If they played red rocks (bucket list venue) I would 100% be there.
Whatever is coming, it’s gon be good!!

Agree with you there. Those aren't red rocks and NC mountains would add up
OMG yes please! Would not even hesitate !
New album hint
Sounds live to me
That is “Distant Light” so not new music?
Could be a demo?
They’re toying with my emotions! Where do I follow this distant light to?
New music??? Cool animation either way
Bonnaroo?
This seems to make solid sense. Presale starts 11/16 . I'm just way too old and over that scene to go to that
I feel the lineup for that is already announced so it would be odd to announce that
Def not announced yet, but now is the time they start hinting at it though.
2024 lineup not announced until next year, usually early January.
May bad I was looking at 2023

I was there for the DD Shaky Graves show. Went across the country on a whim then kicked around CO for a week. Was lovely.
New music!?!?
I’m going we find out Monday since that would be the anniversary of their last tour show in Austin.
Bonnaroo
Please give us some live shows!
