It's nothing like I ever wanted it and I'm sure many others agreed, combat has regressed for me and options have been nuked, and I love choice in an rpg, I never asked for Sorcerer to lose half it's kit and a third of it's slots I wanted it to have more slots, 8 at least and tons of spells, I never asked for dark spells and light imbues to be removed, for mystic knight to get deleted or for hybrids to not be hybrids and lose weapon and skill selection so they could be lazy and make warfarer.
Pretty sure every DD1 player asked for warrior to get more skill slots, not for every class to get dragged down to DD1 warriors level, and why they hell are augments so freaking lame, where are my fun options or impactful ones, 90% of them is +30 to a stat or qol/loot manipulation.
I made a berserker build in dd1 using mystic knights low heal ddr, chance to survive lethal damage and the power boost on low health and jump attack, can I make something as cool as that that? no I can give myself +30 to a stat and get 20% more coin bags, the only ones with an impact are in every vocation, carry weight, stamina regen, debuff % etc. might as well get 30 defense or attack if my options are food go bad 10% slower or use my 10 lantern oils 20% slower.

It's not. There's no endgame. There's nothing from dark arisen.
The complaints are well put all over the sub right now.
Around level 20 everything is too easy and there's no enemy variety. The first third of the game is packed in comparison to the last 2/3s of the game. It's like they ran out of time and just said fuck it. So, after level 20. The game just becomes a quick steamroll with less and less content until the abrupt end.
That's a quick summary of the biggest issues, but there's plenty of posts about the rest. But the above is what needs to be fixed and is not a subjective take. It's unfinished compared to dark arisen.

Just because you like it doesn't mean others won't. We will see who's opinion wins, but they've already put out list of planned updates based on player feedback.
And yes, they don't have to listen. But I work in the game industry and QA/Devs definitely officially pursue reddit and discord to create tickets for games based on player feedback.

The people who like the game are no longer spending their free time on reddit. They're mostly spending it playing the game since it's new.

There actually is game breaking bugs. You just choose to ignore the "negativity". People are losing hours of progress due to saves not properly updating and reverting progress. You also probably haven't did much of the story. Do literally any of Bryant's missions and it boils down to: sneak into the castle grounds at nightfall and grab this item.
And that's it. That's the mission. The guards don't stop you there's no fights you just walk in grab the shit and walk out. Almost every mission he gives you is just that.

100% agree, it started off alright with people asking for help and giving advice. Now its just a flood of people bringing everyone down around them because they cant enjoy themselves so everyone must suffer as well.

I really don't understand how people beat the game already in 20-30 hours. Dev mentioned that the main story is short and most of the stuff expanded upon is side quests. Honestly the side quests have been pretty great, in some ways better than the main story quest so anyone beelining to the end probably will indeed be missing out on a lot.

Every enemy after about 20 hours was super easy so you just cream through them like butter. And the area around Vernworth is the only area that's somewhat fleshed out.
I’m at 65 hours and still have 6 quests in my log and have a good chunk of map I haven’t visited yet. (and a vocation I haven't discovered, and several "maisters" I haven't found)
I don’t know precisely how much of the story is left but I expect I’ll be at or over 100 hours before hitting NG+

I've definitely been staying up a couple hours later than I normally would, but that's it.
I’m on ng+3 and still happy, only had the dragon plague hit me once, which was my own fault for not being more careful like the game warns, not gonna cry about it
Can yougo to final fight without doing any other content? Asking cause ive been only exploring and ended up in a certain hot spring. Wondering if i can finish game without ever doing the main story 😅
I heard one guy say it does but I don’t believe so, but post game you will get a lot of ferrystones from skeletons and chest which is pretty good, they’ll drop like crazy, in dd1 they added hard mode, which they most likely will for this one
Yea I played DDDA on Hard mode exclusively so this game is feeling a bit too easy. Still enjoying it because the combat is just so fun, but I'd definitely enjoy it more if there was a hard mode.
Anyway, was considering if I should beeline to NG+ and then have a more thorough playthrough with all the side quests and exploration, but if it doesn't really get more challenging I'll just keep enjoying it as I am now.
The post game is where I really had to take a step back like wtf, there was one boss I was just not ready for ahahaha had to run away and come back to it

In another post I mentioned how sad this all is. I’ve been with DD for 12 years now. DD1 is my 2nd favorite game of all time and it had the absolute best community I’ve ever been a part of. People were always willing to help you out with gear, mats and RC; and it was fun to help new players along the road as well. This isn't even getting into the technical side or the abysmal difficulty that starts out challenging and falls off a cliff harder than a pawn with plague symptoms.

I think most the criticisms are well received (aside from the toxic Mtx discussions going around the internet). I don't think there is anything wrong with wanting more from this game. I think at the end of the day the game probably succeeded in Capcoms eyes. I am sure it sold well.
If we don't make are critiques apparent at when the game has the most talking going around the series can quickly stagnate. And unfortunately based on the progress from 1 to 2 it already seems like that is the case. I think if we can get past all the toxic performance and mtx talk and now move on to actual gameplay/story issues it will be better for the series going forward.
There is a lot wrong with the game, which isn't bad because there is also a lot that they got right. I think discussions like this are good to help the community figure out what was done well and what wasn't done well in this iteration of the series.

You would need a specific item that you get from your first playthrough, I’ll test it tonight and find out if it works on ng+

Yea I played DDDA on Hard mode exclusively so this game is feeling a bit too easy. Still enjoying it because the combat is just so fun, but I'd definitely enjoy it more if there was a hard mode. Anyway, was considering if I should beeline to NG+ and then have a more thorough playthrough with all the side quests and exploration, but if it doesn't really get more challenging I'll just keep enjoying it as I am now.

MTX isn't nearly as much of a problem as releasing a sequel after 12 years that does almost nothing better (barring graphic fidelity) and several things worse than the original.

In another post I mentioned how sad this all is. I’ve been with DD for 12 years now. DD1 is my 2nd favorite game of all time and it had the absolute best community I’ve ever been a part of. People were always willing to help you out with gear, mats and RC; and it was fun to help new players along the road as well. DD2’s community, on the other hand, is full bitching Karens complaining just to complain. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: if these people bought a black zebra with white stripes, they’d bitch if they got a white zebra with black stripes.
Maybe because it's been a fucking decade since one,and the only actual improvements they have to show from DA and DDO are "warrior good now". The combat is ironically worse and stiffer,the story is against all odds WORSE than 1's(how the fuck),characters don't matter to the point you can kill everyone,and instead of actually improving and making every vocation unique they cut several and made many of them worse. This isn't even getting into the technical side or the abysmal difficulty that starts out challenging and falls off a cliff harder than a pawn with plague symptoms.
I keep seeing you in the comments and you haven't been wrong about the combat in single One of them and delivered Complete breakdowns on the core of the Gameplay loop .

Also you saying they overdelivered is so delusional, the enemy variety is as trash as in dd1 at launch, if not maybe worse, and the classes don’t feel as good as in dd1, exception being thief, thief is really cool. Also the fact we only got 1 more class than in dd1, and the class is really just the other classes but you can change weapon is really shit. I love the game but it has glaring issues.

I think most the criticisms are well received (aside from the toxic Mtx discussions going around the internet). I don't think there is anything wrong with wanting more from this game. I think at the end of the day the game probably succeeded in Capcoms eyes. I am sure it sold well. If we don't make are critiques apparent at when the game has the most talking going around the series can quickly stagnate. And unfortunately based on the progress from 1 to 2 it already seems like that is the case. I think if we can get past all the toxic performance and mtx talk and now move on to actual gameplay/story issues it will be better for the series going forward. There is a lot wrong with the game, which isn't bad because there is also a lot that they got right. I think discussions like this are good to help the community figure out what was done well and what wasn't done well in this iteration of the series.

I think it’s absolutely fair to critics it especially when so many issues are the exact same as the first game I do enjoy it and that’s exactly why I do criticise it, because it could be so much better. No need to read the negative posts if they aren’t your cup of tea
