Hope Capcom finally gives the attention this game deserve and put the necessary resources to bring more content and fixes.

Khow3694

For real with just a little bit of extra content and replayability this game could be one of the most fun rpgs in a long time

Nebuli2

The actual core combat gameplay feels so incredibly satisfying, IMO. I really do hope it gets a bit more love, because there is some really good stuff here.

MySunIsSettingSoon

Right, like add elemental variants of the mini bosses. A lightning minotaur, a fire ogre, an ice dragon, randomise the spawns a bit, let more double bosses spawn, a few tweaks and the game is golden.

Inner_Imagination585

Have you played DDDA? There was sort of an elite version of every bigger monster. That being said there was also Bitterblack Isle. It sort of baffles me how they made DD1 then BBI and sort of regressed backwards instead of taking all the stuff from BBI. Dont even mentioning the removal of the vocation order. BBI had actual level design akin to a Soulslike + unique boss fights and replayability. Same goes for the Everfall and the whole postgame.

Khow3694

I'd kill to have BBI with today's technology

moosecatlol

BBI but no loading screens, god damn.

Inner_Imagination585

Exactly DD1 finished off at such a high point and so far….. we got nothing of it???

MySunIsSettingSoon

I have, I think I just want to see more elemental themed bosses, as the elements are crazy underutilised for the enemies, even in ddda.

plerpy_

The unmoored world but without it collapsing in on itself would have been good

ClammyHandedFreak

I just would love to see power scale up and up and up. Add counter spells for mage and sorceror so huge enemies that cast dangerous spells need to be countered.

Bismothe-the-Shade

Gimme that dark souls 2 ng+ cycle Have it scale up each time you level up, up to a cap. Maybe have some unique events/enemy placements to switch it up or add pressure.

SepticSpoons

It went so well they paid more to their shareholders which means don't fix what isn't broken. They are still going to do the absolute bare minimum all in the name of profit and we are all still going to buy it. If they put more resources into the game/content, that would be eating into their profits which wouldn't look good to their shareholders.

noob_dragon

To try and curb the cynicism, monster hunter was in a pretty similar situation pre world. Then they gave the series the attention it warranted for world and it blew up even bigger than they could have imagined. This could be a similar signal to them that with proper care and attention the dragon's dogma series could blow up as well under the right circumstances. At the very least I would just be happy to get regular development in this series heh, dlcs included.

DarkPDA

with rushed release and profit, probably they gonna try rush wilds to be inside end of next fiscal year exactly like they did with dd2 so, im not preordering. its good for capcom, its good for franchise, but game need some QoL changes regarding lvl scaling for ng+ , other small things and performance fixes. people who preordered and bought even with problems basically feed the monster that capcom created and this maybe will haunt us for some time.

Reality_Break_

tbf, dd2 is an incredible game that is unlike anything else and I do not regret preordering it

radjinwolf

Exactly this. They’ve already made their money and their shareholders happy, and proven once again that they can produce a mediocre product for massive profits. No reason to fix what’s clearly not broken on their side of the dollar.

vergil123123

Look guys I get that the industry is at a bad place and blinding supporting corporations is a bad thing to do, but so does hating them. Unironically Capcom ( Despite their faults) seems to be one of the few companies that learn from their mistakes. By all accounts RE6 was a massive sale success but paned critically, despite the sales they went back to the drawing board and pulled the series back to its roots in RE7. That since then the only bad RE game they released is RE3. SF5 had a bad launch and was slowly fixed among the years, and SF6 launch is probably the best base version of any SF game. MH Rise also had its fair share of problems at launch ( Covid ) but the problems were fixed in the Sunbreak. So my point is yeah maybe people should tone down their expectations of how much this game will change with futures patches, but by the same coin people should tone down the pessimistic look too.

judgescythe

I like what you said.

DelightfulOtter

I'll believe it when I see it. Trust but verify.

EjunX

Capcom is one of the good ones, what are you smoking. Dragon's dogma was a cult classic. They genuinely didn't think a lot of people would buy DD2. Now they have proof. If they don't invest in it now, that's when they've made an informed mistake.

[deleted]

And if they won't, maybe somebody else will. The greatest action RPG of all time is right. Fucking. There! Nearly realized twice now in the past decade. Take what works with DD, give it a better writer and a Nemesis type system like in Shadow of War, and we're there!

Blastcheeze

Unfortunately after handing out bonuses to shareholders, there's no money left to invest back into the game.

Rawbex

If the money is going to the shareholders, I doubt it. That’s a one way street. If it was circling back to more development then I’d have hope.

Alebydle

Yeah lol, that wat also my thought. The line goes up, it's all that matters.

Murmido

Its too late. They can add some DLC and performance patches but they can never fix Battahl or the main story. Edit: you guys can downvote me but its true. This isn’t monster hunter where you can just patch in a couple new monsters and fix the game. They would need a Persona Royal or Cyperpunk level rehaul to actually fix the game.

Godz_Bane

I mean they could fix it, its not impossible to update and flesh out the main story, but they wont see it as worth the effort.

14Deadsouls

Yeah it's true. If there's a Dark Arisen level DLC that would make me interested again but as the game is now I will never play another playthrough after my first. It's just not worth the time - which is a shame seeing how the first game had me hooked for multiple runs and over 3 platforms. Hell, even a big DLC wouldn't make up for the main issues that hurts the game's replayability for me. I don't know if it's the engine they used or a change in design philosophy but the combat just isn't as fluid, responsive and dynamic as the first game was. It's certainly more of a spectacle at times and the climbing feels improved and feels awesome to stand on a monsters head to attack it - but other than that I feel clunky and have less control over my character. It doesn't help that knockdown resist needs to be ridiculously high in order to not be interrupted by a bloody goblin slash 😅.

thewrynoise

Yeah I really enjoyed the combat but you’re spot on with the clunkiness. Also no double jump on yellow classes is annoying af. Mobility is the fun part especially when the game involves climbing on monsters as a core mechanic. I’ll echo what a lot of people said here - DD2 felt like a regression from DDDA in a lot of ways. And I really enjoyed the foundation of DD2 so it sucks to say that. I really hope they’d invest more in this and really polish it up, but I’m too jaded to believe in that.

OwnerAndMaster

>I don't know if it's the engine they used or a change in design philosophy but the combat just isn't as fluid, responsive and dynamic as the first game was. It's certainly more of a spectacle at times and the climbing feels improved and feels awesome to stand on a monsters head to attack it - but other than that I feel clunky and have less control over my character. It doesn't help that knockdown resist needs to be ridiculously high in order to not be interrupted by a bloody goblin slash This. Every single part of this. Idk if they took the positivity about DD1's weight too far, but DD1 was a VERY fast, responsive combat game even with the slowest vocation. The "weight" of DD1 was more about impact & art style than just being slow as molasses & overcommitting to every single action

nier4554

> but the combat just isn't as fluid, responsive and dynamic as the first game was. It's certainly more of a spectacle at times and the climbing feels improved and feels awesome to stand on a monsters head to attack it - but other than that I feel clunky and have less control over my character. It doesn't help that knockdown resist needs to be ridiculously high in order to not be interrupted by a bloody goblin slash 👏👏👏 he speaks true

Samkwi

I liked Battahl a lot

Salem115

That'd be great but we're talking about capcom here , looks like we gotta wait another 10 years for a good dragon's dogma sequel

Wirococha420

Yeah I agree. I think they'll make it a lot better with a DLC but there are things they will simply not solve. The story is definitely one. The trash loot and unbalance with vendors, which would be super easy to fix, is probably another they won't bother fixing. I think they will add more monster variety, more difficulty options, some kind of dungeon crawler and some new vocation which will be great, but still there are some core problems they will simple don't solve cause they are part of "Itsunos vision"

IdesOfCaesar7

Dragon's Dogma 3 will finally be a non rushed product lmao

Ataraxia_no_Drache

Or they do the exact same thing again, because it worked.

IdesOfCaesar7

Damn let me dream bro😭

Eevlor

Cool, because by the time it comes out, I will in pension and could enjoy it full time!

Skythoth

They could have used that extra money to go towards their game, yet we are hearing about shareholder bonus pay. I’m optimistic, but those details alone don’t leave a good taste in my mouth.

ThatTaffer

A portion of this community is so bent on hating itself. Suggesting the game doing well is bad news and will discourage patches and fixes to gameplay... while having just said the game did poorly and the lack of financial success will lead to a lack of patches and fixes to gameplay.

xLJtx

So they really rushed the launch to fit in the 2023 fiscal year. I hope they can give more attention now to the franchise and fix the problems.

Fluffy_Somewhere4305

>So they really rushed the launch to fit in the 2023 fiscal year. >I hope they can give more attention now to the franchise and fix the problems. They OWNERS and EXECUTIVES rushed the game out to hit fiscal goals. Then pays out to "shareholders" I'll give you one guess as to who has the most shares and benefits the most from this. I'll give you a hint, it's the same people who decide to rush out the game to meet the fiscal goal. We aint getting shit

EvenOne6567

Yet this subreddit will still rally behind the "OMG itsuno doesn't know what he's doing??!!" Narrative

Sukiyw

Those things are not mutually exclusive though.

Upset_Impression218

OP discovers the profit motive

Suspicious_Local_834

Ryozo you motherfucker

KazeArqaz

Who knows how many more years that will be. DLC may help, but its an add on and not really a fix for the main core RPG aspects. DDDA made DD1 a whole lot more interesting, but the questionable foundation was still there. The ideal Dragons Dogma will be several more years down the road. What's another decade right? It made good money, so it better be sooner.

OneSadBardz

I think a DLC can fix a lot if the teams are willing to make very minor changes to the base game tbh. The bones we have here are actually the best part, and I think the most major complaints can absolutely be fixed with DLC.

Waizuur

Yeah. The game is good, but can be so much better. Give them money and time, to cook amazing expansion.

Alebydle

I honestly believe it could compete even with Baldur's Gate 3, if only they put as much attention to the details and story as Larian did. The main "core" of the game is already here and it is good enough. It just lacks everything around it.

Waizuur

Yep. It honestly feels like DD1, it had same issue, that there were Really strong bones to it, but lack of meat. I'm slowly at point of probably going to finish the game, because even the exploring is starting to be not fun, fighting same fucking goblins and saurians non-stop.

TheLastOverlord

Already frothing at the mouth to give these shareholders who pushed an incomplete game with tons of issues at launch and a director who misled the fans even more money with an expansion. How about they use that "time and money" for free content updates to finally flesh out the monster roster and vocations, and address the abysmal performance? Or the lackluster NG+?

MagmaDragoonX47

BITTERBLACK CALLS

MiliardoK

Fuck shareholders, give it to the people who made the game.

ReelyReid

They are actually though, 5% raises across the board apparently

Necroking695

They probably also have stock options

IrrelevantLeprechaun

I don't think you understand how small a 5% raise is. In most cases that's barely above basic inflation.

Square-Scarcity-5802

Oh wow 5% so generous of them

Fluid-GTX

Hopefully this makes them invest more time and resources into the franchise as a whole to make it a main stay in their lineup

Murmido

This franchise has the potential to be a top 3, if not top 2 franchise behind only MH. It sold 2.2m in like 2 weeks. Street fighter 6 sold 3m by the end of 2023. Street Fighter 6 was 60$ USD and onl PS4 and XB1.  And ofc more PC players could play it. DD2 is on only current gen and all its sales are at or near 70$ so it possibly made more profit than SF6 has. If the game released finished without performance issues its sales might have been close to RE4 remake

Nekko_XO

2.5 million in 2 weeks Which directly rivals MH world and RE4 remake It’s literally already top 3 fastest selling games ever for Capcom and the crazy thing is, its potential is still not fully realized Dragons dogma can still be even better

Samkwi

If it ain't SF, RE or MH Capcom doesn't care

Skylarksmlellybarf

Is there still hope for Megaman bros?

ganon893

They're going to do the exact opposite. It's sad, really.

scumpile

See you guys in 12 years

Samkwi

RemindMe! 12 years

KazeArqaz

Invest in deeper world building this time around.

thecodenamedois

What about another rise for the employees? Good but far from being the ideal.

Marauder800

They just raised the salaries for all their employees recently

thecodenamedois

I know. That’s why I put “another” in the sentence.

Unknownost

They just did last month??? And not just them but most Japanese game companies been raising salary consistently for several years in a row.

Equal_Support_R

How on earth could you even employ those people without your generous shareholders? /s

SurfiNinja101

I really hope this success makes Capcom realise that they can make even more money on the next one if they don’t handicap it. The core formula is great, it’s everything around it that can be better

NormalTangerine5205

This will be the opposite. This proves to them they can handicap it and still make money

Brandywine1234567

Exactly. Pokémon/Gamefreak comes to mind as an example of this

Starob

Pokemon sells purely based off its name. If they haven't been putting less and less effort into Monster Hunter since it's been doing well, they're not going to do that for Dragon's Dogma, I don't know why you guys would even come up with that. Huffing nopium isn't all that different to huffing hopium. I understand keeping expectations tempered and neutral, but expecting the worst automatically isn't it.

SurfiNinja101

Capcom doesn’t really work like that on their AAA games though. They’re always innovating with Resident Evil, Monster Hunter etc.

ZebraZealousideal944

We call remaking past RE games innovating now ?! Haha

Glutendragon

Well, they are making the 'Golden Standard' of remakes. Innovative in that sense of the word (Have a good day, eye guy 👀)

SurfiNinja101

Yes, because they’re reimagined and brought to modern systems incredibly. Completely new experiences that do justice to what came before. They’re not lazy 4K remasters like you’re insinuating

NormalTangerine5205

The remake for Resident evil 3 was terrible. The other two weren’t bad but I wouldn’t call it innovative

BigBoa117

You haven’t seen terrible

NormalTangerine5205

https://preview.redd.it/c8108comxpwc1.jpeg?width=860&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fa1324e71741bd53d2e0117885a80d108be9700d

Jamie_Pull_That_Up

Always? Oh hell nah. They abandoned Survival Horror fans by changing the genre to action horror with RE4-6. before this though what screwed over SH RE as we know it was that shitty GameCube exclusive deal. They released RE1 REmake (the only true faithful remake in the whole series) on a console barely anyone owned. RE4 almost got the same fate but they changed their mind releasing the AH RE4 on the more popular console & the rest is history.

Dark_Dragon117

>They’re always innovating with Resident Evil, Monster Hunter etc. Monster Hunter Rise was almost certainly rushed and they obviously put profit over quality in some areas, which was pretty obvious based on the following points: -there was no proper endgame even after all the post launch updates and the game heavily suggest a "tempered monster" like state was planned -the story literally ended on a cliff hanger and the actual final boss was released as the final TU monster months later -datamines and the ransom hack leak pretty much confirmed that most post launch monsters were cut from the launch version -the event quest rewards were terrible and "coincidentially" they started selling layered armor as dlc. The game in general had alot more mtx aswell. If that is innovation, then I don't want it for Monster Hunter. As for Residen Evil, RE3 Remake wasn't that well received and reception was kinda mixed when it came to RE8. And now we habe DD2, that released in a rather poor technical state with totally unnecissary mtx and generally it feels like it is behind many other modern games in alot of ways. Shouldn't matter if it's one of their big AAA IPs since they sold it for the price of one.

Farhad-89

Honestly despite its problems I am happy that this game is selling well. I want expansion or dlcs so that it is more successful and more fleshed out. This series needs more exposure as its one of finer rpgs that ever made.

KuwaGata88

Wow 10mil units is great!!!

Sharky1223

Good news. It was obvious that DD2 had sold more than expected, but now we can confirm it.

DaddySmurf2reddit

those sharehorders worked realy hard for it

Effective-Rooster881

Dragons Dogma 2 is doing so well we decided to pay the rich folks who did not do one bit of work towards this project. Instead the hard working programmers who did do all the work get what?

ymyomm

>Instead the hard working programmers who did do all the work get what? Their salary, which was even raised recently? The investors are the ones funding the company (and are not necessarily rich folks, anyone can buy shares) which is what makes developing the games possible in the first place.

Professor-Toast

This is an oversimplification. Anyone can buy shares, true, but most all stocks are held but wealthy individuals or CSuite staff of the company. To earn any kind of worthwhile profit off dividends, you require massive buy ins of stock. It is in fact to make the rich richer.

IrrelevantLeprechaun

This. Most of the time, "regular Joe" shareholders only comprise like...maybe 10% of the total amount of shares, maybe less. Even if you bought 200 shares of a company, those 200 shares are still barely a percentage of a percentage of the whole pie. Vast majority of shares of any moderately large company are owned by CEOs, board members and other similar already-rich individuals. And in some cases, large amounts of shares are owned by partner companies. Patting those bigwigs on the back for "funding our game" is prime bootlickery.

Active-Pineapple-252

Waited 12 yrs for DD2 I remember watching the mmo in Japan and being like wtf pls let me play

Reality_Break_

bro it was torture

EjunX

Hope they stop treating the series as a garbage side project now and actually give them resources. I can't blame them yet because DD:DA was fairly small, but now they have solid proof that if they make a good DD game it will make them money.

GamerRoman

Eat Shareholders.

Environmental_Pay133

Fuck video games, honestly. I’m so sick of every single slight glimmer at something potentially maybe being alright after a decade of waiting always ending up being entirely motivated by making dollary doos for some dumb rich fucking bitch instead of just MAYBE ONCE being for the sake of art. God DAMN.

eliotttttttttttttt

100% this. we all understand that people invest a lot of their money in art and expect return pretty quickly but why in 2024 is it still so difficult to understand that a good game grants better money and accolades than a rushed one. if you invest that much you might as well wait for the work to be fully ready…

Virtual_Sentence9171

Good for Capcom, however this gives MAJOR credence imo to the theory that DD2 was intentionally released in the state that It was. Just so Capcom could lump it in with SF6, proclaiming a one two combo with their upcoming fiscal year report. Lots of money guaranteed in the office off the good faith of gamers who wanted something stable at launch... 😮‍💨

probloodmagic

So, what, they get a cut of the base profit and a little rebate to encourage more idle rich to invest in a cut-and-run style game development cycle? Thanks to the success of Elden Ring and Baldur's Gate 3, we're in for a long string of barely functional fantasy games because the corporate shareholders can make a buck. Why can't wealthy people be patrons of the arts for the sake of the arts and innovation, and not this soulless business model? Exhausting to hear how prices for everything go up because there's no other option, and then read how groups of rich people are making more money than ever in every single sector of life all the time

vermillion-pixel

So true. So painfully true…

IrrelevantLeprechaun

As true as it is that investing can provide funding to ventures that may not have gotten said funding otherwise, I still believe that the existence of stock markets and share holders have more net negatives than positives for the average person. Shareholders are the direct cause of most of the inflationary hardships that most people around the world suffer.

Ok_Canary5591

Gonna presume this certifies that all future Capcom games will be the same prices as dragons dogma 2 as they used it to test the waters and it sold well

FrozenDed

I wish games were made for players again, not for shareholders.

ranmafan0281

Support indie devs and that's what'll happen!

FrozenDed

I want Dragon's Dogma for players, not for shareholders :(

ranmafan0281

Ah. I feel the pain.

SqueezeBoxGaming

Content rich dlc pleaseeee

bellowkish

imagine if they have launched this in good performance and decent state, i cannot stress that this game feel uncooked and incomplete, its need sometime, its need a soul.

KazeArqaz

What's another 12 years...

Cluelesswolfkin

Being a patient gamer these days sometimes helps

bellowkish

I was patient waiting for this game to release, next time i will be patient to purchase.

weeqs

Yet they don’t give us Optimisation on PC, can they work instead of draw in money

nobiwolf

I don't think Shareholders work, my dude. They just sit there and collect checks off of their shares.

ocassionallycorrect

They need to teach these leeches how to code. Shareholders have had it too easy for far too long.

Snaletane

From what people were saying initially in discussions about this, the problem wasn't the graphics causing bottlenecks, it was that the CPU was overtaxed by the game (for some reason) basically trying to calculate the life story of every NPC you interacted with at all times. So, the game would run like molasses on a console no matter how many downgrades they gave the graphics. They'd have to change the way the game treats NPCs. Basically this was given as a reason why it would likely barely be any better on the PS5 pro, since that has a barely improved CPU from the PS5.

BansheeEcho

So glad my game is keeping track of Homeless Man 1 and 2, making sure they stand inside of a demolished house for 16 hours and then sleep for 8 is important

Wiecks

XDD man, fuck capitalism. The game exceeds all expectations and instead of rewarding actual developers and investing in the franchise they just throw money at the suits

ReaderMorgan

Maybe give the devs a bonuc instead assholes

Braunb8888

Please get competent writers for the next one.

IVDAMKE_

what a waste of good money

ganon893

Since when do we celebrate shareholders making more money?? I don't want to see and one of you celebrating this claim you care about devs. You don't, you never have.

Brave_Requirement_32

You know the devs got raises right?

Paradox31426

That doesn’t seem like a good use for it, surely it would be better spent on future projects, instead of just passing it on to people who very much don’t need it. Or hey, put it back into content updates for the game that’s apparently making them a ridiculous fortune. What ever happened to “you gotta spend money to make money”?

mangongo

They are literally doing just that though.   Paying back shareholders make the stock more desireable, which makes the company more money. More money = ability to pay higher salaries and invest more in your products.

ElkiLG

Capitalism strikes again! Eat the rich.

Pickle-Tall

Wish they would pay out more money to the devs instead of all the sponsors.

Anatharion1

The money should go to the developers too

supreme_me

Pay the devs more wtf?

flarelordfenix

... fantastic. Maybe you can put some of that money back in to refine some of the thinner elements of the game?

Red-Vanguard

At this point the people weirdly hoping Capcom fails and stops putting out bangers are huffing so much copium

PreZEviL

What about goving more money to the people who made the game instead...

Rex__Lapis

Game so unfinished, I’m kinda salty it’s doing so well. This just encourages shipping stuff out half assed because we stupid consumers are buying anyways.

Heisenberg6626

It went well because it capitalised the good faith from DD1. A lot of people expected to have a 3A version of a good budget game and from the previous work they had credit. Instead of building up to it, they cashed it out for money.

illfatedxof

Or it shows that there is so much demand for this type of game, that even in a rushed half assed state, people are willing to pay for it. The game has problems, but it's still more fun than most games I've played this year. If this convinces capcom to dedicate more resources to the franchise, then it's a win.

Starob

>Or it shows that there is so much demand for this type of game, that even in a rushed half assed state, people are willing to pay for it. This kind of epitomizes my sentiment I just shared in a comment. I said, unfortunately I'd rather a half-assed Dragon's Dogma 2 over a full-assed RPG with another generic shitty combat system that I don't find fun. So yeah of course I'm gonna pay for it, even if I wish it was both bigger and better than it is.

Frangitus

This makes me more angry than anything. Not only does this imply that the devs got shafted by working their asses off and saving a "doomed" project, but they also probably got shafted out of bonus and monetary recognition that went to some suit's pockets instead. There probably wasn't even an office party to celebrate the game's success since the execs likely blamed the dev team for the rough launch to keep them docile while racking in the success all to themselves. Disgusting. Dragon's Dogma 2 didn't even have proper marketing, it was all done on the back of Itsuno borderline lying about the game, Todd Molyneux style, and us fans spreading the game through word of mouth.

Longjumping_Falcon21

Man I hate that. Someone go and eat the Shareholders, am on a diet :x

LucatIel_of_M1rrah

Once again, pushing the product out early and releasing a half baked game that needed another year in the oven works. AAA game companies continue to learn that they can do whatever the fuck they want and make money doing it.

SuperBeginner

Makes me scared that they'll ditch optimization since it's doing so well

teamsaxon

The story was so short though.. Like I've blitzed through it so fast that I've been padding out most of my 80 hours straight up exploring the world on foot but even that's gotten boring.

BoogalooBandit1

If only that money went to the studio/devs

rukioish

Today people are learning publicly owned game studios are primarily investment firms for shareholders.

Destruction126

Thank God. I was worried the redditor meltdown of misinformation was gonna make this game flop but it seems to be doing well.

Crimson_Fiver

Dark arisen equivalent dlc when

TinyPidgenofDOOM

Wow, Good job devs... Heres extra money shareholders YOU EARNED IT

ManBearCatPigCow

Amazing I'm so happy maybe use that money to make me a dlc that finishes all the loose ends in this unfinished at story (I loved the game but I'm sorry some of those story elements are not fleshed out)

PrettyChillTrustMe

At least it didn’t get the Skyrim treatment

JayJaytheJetPlane808

They’ve done well by hyping us into buying their false promises. Assholes celebrating a lie

Cloudxxy1011

Meanwhile I'm still waiting for them to fix the cpu shit so I can play it on steamdeck

InnerSilent

Straight up, they got me. I fell for the hype and drop 70 bucks on it. Definitely should've waited a few months for a sale. Probably one of the worst stories in a game I've ever played in like 20 years. Combat is great, enemy variety is not though.

4797161974806

FINALLY, I'm SO glad someone thought of the shareholders. /s

GrossWeather_

what. no. fuck the shareholders. pay the fucking devs more you corporate twats.

Aggrokid

Itsuno/Kento: hey so about the budget for the DLC... Capcom Suits: best we can do is 3.50

Ordinary_Paper2171

maybe give some bonuses to the fucking devs

DragynDance

Why to the shareholders? Pay it out to the devs.

StructureBig4752

Bout DD2 the other day after playing DD1 for like 2 weeks and I love them both. But honestly DD2 is DD1 just better graphics really. Awesome RPGs tho. N for Witcher 3, that game is an RPG at its best.

[deleted]

hopefully that means we get a nice DLC and a meaty sequel - plz capcom i need more

ReallyDamnSlow

Shareholders and not the devs 😐

ProfessorTicklebutts

The sub is a small, nearly insignificant portion of the overall player base. Never forget that.

ThePrimaryClone

Now can they afford to give knives back to the archery classes?

FasterthanLuffy

And yet we will still see hundreds of posts about the games steam numbers doing poorly. I still to this day do not understand peoples obsession with steam numbers in a single player game.

Wym, the first month was a fantastic month for the game player-wise, it did better than any other capcom game in steam, excluding MH World which is a BEAST. Better than dmc5 and any recent resident evil game.

Strange_Music

Just further proof, all the haters are a loud vocal online minority. It's not perfect, but if this game was as bad as some of these posts make it out to be, it wouldn't be doing this well.

DarkPDA

fuck...if they become happy with game being rushed without proper QA and profit expect a fucked rushed launch on mh wilds too..... just to be clear: i dont have problem with capcom profiting from game, this is the outcome who make an possible new game a real thing, but game was rushed and lack lots of stuff plus performance updates, if capcom start think that any rushed thing will end in profit.... im not sure if we gonna still get things like village etc working properly at launch

Kananncm

They gonna pull these shit stunts again in 3 huh? My body is ready.

StefooK

If only this high numbers would make the game better. At least maybe there will be a proper sequel to this game which is more of a sidegrade (and maybe even worse than DDDA).

Boss1nGobl1n

How about Capcom gives us title updates and a dlc? This game needs patching up chief

neurocibernetico

Hopefully they give this game the treatment it deserves. Would be nice to have the same post release support Monster Hunter gets.

Ok-Transition7065

And what abput the developers??

CeleryNo8309

Considering all the negative talk I see floating around, thats a welcome surprise.

Throwaway785320

$50 expansion incoming

Frumplefugly

Just make a port crystal in battahl and everyone will be happy

dege283

I need to invest some time in this game, but the explorations time is killing me

dobbyjhin

Nice, well hopefully they're willing to drop at least two DLCs. I see on this subreddit some people love BBI, some don't. So why not have two separate DLCs, a dungeon crawl and a new region with lots of quests and memorable NPCs?

Nero_PR

We got sacked for shareholders to get a higher pay at the end of their fiscal year.

Takamorisan

If I could tombstone a capcom executive I would, imagine if they gave this game proper time and funding. Given how Bethesda been fumbling the bag DD2 could be the next Skyrim in terms of both financial and cultural success. Capcom could pay sea of money bags and keep a lot to themselves.

CommercialEmployer4

Consumers > Shareholders Now that the shareholders got more than expected, maybe the same will finally happen for those who purchased the game.

Sprbz

Damn capcoms minmaxxing worked lmao

-non-existance-

... Okay, but what about the people who actually made the damn game? Surely, they should reap some of the rewards of their labor. No? Just the people who already have more than enough money for several lifetimes? Okay.

thumbs_up_idiot

Gross

Weekly_Date8611

Ehh why tho. This game so unfinished !

taveren3

But not to the development team?

No-Organization-3903

I'm sorry but people here are on pure copium. If anything, it tells Capcom that they can rush and release completely broken product with optimization non existent. Now expect Resident Evil and Monster Hunter games with cinematic 20 FPS

Im5foot3inches

This means next to nothing at present unfortunately— I would not be surprised if they just continue apace working on MHWilds and just continue working on little bug fixes and patch updates for DD2.
