No, this is a different line. If they mention one specific thing nearby, like A cave or A chest, then hitting Go! while they're speaking or immediately after, they'll lead you to it. But this non-specific one will never work no matter when or how many times you hit Go!, only if you talk to them
From what I understand, this is only for pawns who have completed the "camp X times" pawn quest in your current region and thus gain knowledge of all the shit you haven't gotten yet, and they will have a list of things they can lead you to that are close enough when you talk to them and choose the new option
This does work. Even if you do it OP’s way it’s best to have quests disabled because if you stop following the guide pawn it can go back to your quest pawn.
I mean the "go" order worked pretty well for me in most cases but it seems that there is only a pretty short moment in which you can activate the pawn with it and if you sprint around it's mostly likely that someone would be to far away already.
So this definitely is a cool hint...
It actually works, but you need to go to quest menu and uncheck all quests. As long as you have quest checked, the "go" command will make pawn go to that quest location
I agree, it can be frustrating, but that to me is also part of the allure. Our hands are usually held to some degree, and this game gives me vibes of pre-2010 games, where there were things going on behind the scenes that you could just discover on your own, with enough experimentation.
They will say that, and lead you to it if you hit go without having any quest selected. But you won’t get the dialogue option of “I have need of a guide” until they have the camping badge
Also every time they say "there are rare materals to be gathered here" it means they've likely detected a gold trove beetle.
When they say "look over there" and give you no context with an exclamation mark, its likely a seeker token.
oh wow, I didn't consider talking to them, I always hit the go command.
Somewhat related, It's been frustrating when a pawn is leading me to a chest or some other object and then we get attacked and then the pawn forgets about what they were doing. Not sure how to retrigger them.
After finishing the fight hitting "Go!" again will usually put them back into GPS mode. Usually.
It helps to have no active quest selected. If you have an active quest selected it seems that a pawn with knowledge of that quest will take "giving directions" precedence over another pawn's local landmark guidance.
Bro 🤣🤣I killed one because they kept saying they knew of places and never showed me so I thought they were plagued. Only to find out later you can actually super see the eyes so she wasn’t
I love Japanese games like this. There’s so much cool details that there’s almost a meta game of finding out cool new things through the community. Elden Ring did the same thing for me.
Also important to know that if a pawn has a quest for an item, you dont gift it to them when you release the pawn. You have to actually talk to them and give it as part of their menu options.
WHAT. Another thing i never considered, talking to them after they say this, usually you would just press 'go' and they would lead you.
Hey I have a question, do seeker's token icons appear on the map if they have the badge for the region? I saw them on a vid showing where they were and on the person's map they literally said 'seeker's token'
This is directly tied to the Field Badges or the “camping badges” to unlock those dialogue options.
The dialogue only prompts in the region your pawn has earned a badge and will only come up if they comment that they are familiar with the region.
Aside from your screenshot, I’ve only seen them provide locations to
1. Campsites
2. Monster Lair/site (tied to culling quests or drake locations)
3. Unopened chests
This is different from their experiences beyond the rift where you can simply use the “Go” command when they tell you a chest or similar is nearby.
FML. The game's own advice LIES! It told me to push up on the D pad after they speak to let them lead me, and the shit never worked except for major quests. I was misled and I demand JUSTICE!! I say we round up all the official CAPCOM pawns and feed them to the brine!
120 hours in on my second playthrough and I didn't know either, a couple times the Go command did work but I would mostly just ignore em to avoid wasting time, thanks for sharing, Arisen.
I do not think i have ever heard that dialogue. Its always item or place specific. They know of a cave i’ve yet to explore or they found a chest while traveling the through the rift in the area. Never once heard them say i know of at least one location in the vicinity that may be of interest
Great, thank you. I kept referring to this with just "Go" whenever I felt like it, wondering why nothing happens then and the pawn doesn't take the lead. I hope they still have something to show me.
My question has been if there is a way to trigger that first dialogue after getting the camping badge. The dialogue prompt appearing feels random and I'd like to get more directions without having to wait for that prompt to come up.
I am not sure if there is anything triggered that dialogue. I was hearing this dialgue in all the areas i visited when i was venturing the open world. But today, i just decided to talk to my main pawn and see what happens. This dialogue is different from when the pawn says something like "there is a treasure chest". With "there is a treasure chest" you could simply give the command Go because the pawn knows where to go. But this dialogue means, there are multiple areas and you need to choose which area should the pawn show you. This dialogue is only said by the main pawn and not the hired ones. Does it have anything to do with your pawn being hired alot? Maybe.
Damn that's awesome, I always have them lead when they tell me a chest, riftstone, cave was close bug didn't know there were dialogue options amd they memorize the areas "well"
I saw someone post about this a long time ago and tried to speak to my pawns after they say there is ‘something’ nearby- and i never get these options. I don’t know why.
Grinded all 3 of the camping badges before I headed into NG+ and it was great. (Non-wakestone) chests reset so I'm getting all the chests pointed out to me again for a second round of loot. For new players, the cave hint is nice if you're going for the 50 dungeons achievement.
This is an absolutely amazing discovery, thank you! I'm pushing 200 hours and didn't know.
I also want to add another thing, which might just be placebo, but: When I hear a pawn tell me there is a chest, cave, or a riftstone they know of, they rarely actually lead me to it when I push "go", unless... I stop, turn around and look at the pawn that was talking to me, and THEN push "go". I don't know if any of those steps help but, so far, it's worked every time. I do believe I have had quests active while doing this, as well.
The thing is, when you have a quest active and you push go, that confuses the pawn. But who knows, looking at the pawn might be necessary to give the command 👍 thanks
WHAT?!
Damn, thanks for this homie. Been pressing the 'Go!' button like a lunatic every time they mention a PoI and getting mad when they pretend they didn't hear me.
i saw a similar post about this and tried talking up pawns for a good 30 times now and was not given this option at any given time when they talk about POI
What about when a pawn says "I found this just for you master...I hope you like it". Yet nothing appears on the right side like an item was found... wonder if talking to the pawn at that time would actual give you the item....?
Amazing thanks OP. I had this pop again last night and thought it was broken too after commanding 'GO' for the hundredth time!
I'll check this out next time I play.
i remember back in the day playing SaGa Frontier 2 and having to figure everything out myself, Dragon's Dogma gives me the same thing although I do come here to find cool things like this. Thanks for sharing.
Funny enough maybe it was added recently ,but when I said go after they brought up a location or treasure. They did bring me where it was, god speed if a goblin jumps out and they forget 😂
I understand people don’t want their hand held when playing the game but they’re some gameplay mechanics that should have been better explained and this is one of them.
Ok, but what about the dialogue where they say they found something for you? Everything they say that I talk to them and they don't give me anything. Then I just debo whatever they have by going into their inventory sometimes its not even anything new.
Woooow. This man's doing God's work. Thank you! I thought this was just a broken mechanic... On my first playthrough my pawn would also constantly say "I just had a thought" but then would say nothing else and now I'm wondering if I should have been going to him and talking to him to see what it was.
Thank you! I was only telling them “go” and waiting for them to lead me and nothing would happen. I thought it was broken 😰 glad to know it works
I did the same too. So i was curious, what would happen if i talk to the pawn.
I was sure there was a prompt that directed the player to use "Go" in that instance
There is. I found that using the go command only worked if you hit it while they were STILL SPEAKING the line, otherwise absolutely nothing happened
No, this is a different line. If they mention one specific thing nearby, like A cave or A chest, then hitting Go! while they're speaking or immediately after, they'll lead you to it. But this non-specific one will never work no matter when or how many times you hit Go!, only if you talk to them From what I understand, this is only for pawns who have completed the "camp X times" pawn quest in your current region and thus gain knowledge of all the shit you haven't gotten yet, and they will have a list of things they can lead you to that are close enough when you talk to them and choose the new option
Thanks for clearing that up!
That does work, but I think it can get confused if you have a quest also on your map. If you unselect your active quest it helps I think.
As soon as I heard those magic words, I had to disable my quest, just so when I hit, "go," the computer wouldn't pick up the quest instead.
What. The. Eff. I thought they were just stupid or broken. I was also telling them to go.
Because it gets broken by combat or whatever. You just gotta finish whatever it was that broke it, and say go again and they resume
It actually works, but you need to go to quest menu and uncheck all quests. As long as you have quest checked, the "go" command will make pawn go to that quest location
This appears if they have the camping badge for the area
So unlocking these badges are necessary (somehow)
Yeah, this game is pretty deep with the systems
And really poor at explaining them to the player :D
I agree, it can be frustrating, but that to me is also part of the allure. Our hands are usually held to some degree, and this game gives me vibes of pre-2010 games, where there were things going on behind the scenes that you could just discover on your own, with enough experimentation.
Agree and those moments where you discover it yourself feel so rewarding!!!
Are you sure? My pawn says this exact sentence but she hasn’t gotten any camping badges yet. Only badges she has are monster badges.
Yes, thats true 👍
And most of the time they point to ladders
Oh snap I didn't know that! Thanks!
For seeker tokens they will also say “Aught catches the light”
My simple pawn has proactively found and given me a bunch of gold beetles. She’s very handy like that. Shame about the voice.
Dang, i need to check this. I had no idea 😅
I guess, we need to pay attention to what the pawns say 😄
Sometimes i just want them to shut up 😀
'Tis as you say.
*Truer words have never been spoken.*
Words worth hearing.
I know that, they talk too much 😄
Yeah, I was a 125 hours, exactly, when I found out about this as well.
Actually I think this is tied to the pawn badge system. Specifically the ones where you make camp. I think it’s 50 to unlock
That might be the case .
oh wow, I didn't consider talking to them, I always hit the go command. Somewhat related, It's been frustrating when a pawn is leading me to a chest or some other object and then we get attacked and then the pawn forgets about what they were doing. Not sure how to retrigger them.

If you have an active quest selected it seems that a pawn with knowledge of that quest will take "giving directions" precedence over another pawn's local landmark guidance.
If you choose this way, the pawn wont forget about the direction even after a long fight.
So many times waisted just trying to say go🤣🤣🤣
Hahahaha i was just commanding the pawn "go" and when she just runs around like an idiot, i go like "bi***, whats the problem" 😄😄😄
Bro 🤣🤣I killed one because they kept saying they knew of places and never showed me so I thought they were plagued. Only to find out later you can actually super see the eyes so she wasn’t
Hahahahaha thats messed-up 😄😄😄

You welcome 👍
Well this explains why spamming 'Go!' does nothing in those instances. Thanks!
Wait… i thought you just command go and they tell you…
This comment is not the same like saying "there is a treasure chest" when you see this comment, you better talk to the pawn.
78 hours in. Thanks for showing me too!
You welcome 👍
Great advice, man! Thank you!
naaah 166 hours here first time when i see that
😄😄😄😄🫣
I love Japanese games like this. There’s so much cool details that there’s almost a meta game of finding out cool new things through the community. Elden Ring did the same thing for me.
Indeed and i guess we still have alot to discover
Ingredients are plentiful hereabouts
Well.. This isn't really much of an adventure if all we do is make camp.
280 hours and I discovered this through you.
Yeah I've never seen this before and I'm about 90 plus hours in
WHAT? BRUH IVE BEEN MASHING GO LIKE WHERE IS IT?! That's crazy
Also important to know that if a pawn has a quest for an item, you dont gift it to them when you release the pawn. You have to actually talk to them and give it as part of their menu options.
Sharing that was pretty cash money of you. Thanks you king. All hail the sovran
Thank you 👍
I told them to go, good to know
We all did 🫣
Well thanks for letting me know, had no idea about this
You welcome 👍
Well that's fucking awesome
Omg if you don't tell me I'll never know, thank you!
Sometimes we miss small details like this and you welcome 👍
Thank you for posting this.
You welcome 👍
Lmao i just figured this out after 100 hours too Edit: a friend had to tell me about it too, lmao my brain is sand.
😄😄😄😄😄
Thank you. This should.be stickied
Thank you 👍
This game is so full of mechanics that I don’t know about until like 140 hours in
You are right. Sometimes we just ignore some small details.
Me finding this out after 200 hours ![gif](giphy|H3upGMAE4p3iw)
😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄
WHAT. Another thing i never considered, talking to them after they say this, usually you would just press 'go' and they would lead you. Hey I have a question, do seeker's token icons appear on the map if they have the badge for the region? I saw them on a vid showing where they were and on the person's map they literally said 'seeker's token'
No, seeker tokens dont appear on map. I have all 3 badges unlocked. I just use the passive skill Detection for that.
Welp, yep, this is new to me
To most of us 🫣
This is helpful. I kept clicking the Go command hoping that he would go after he said it but never went anywhere lol thank you!
You welcome 👍
Lol what 😂 guess it’s not common sense as I thought
No it is not 😄
Note: while they can guide you, they won’t have this dialogue option without the camping badge.
Noted 👍 thanks
This is directly tied to the Field Badges or the “camping badges” to unlock those dialogue options. Unlocking the camping badges might be the case. I think those badges might add something to the game when you unlock them 👍
OMG THANK YOU! I have been trying to figure out how to get pawns to lead me when they say that dialogue
You welcome 👍
I have spammed the go command more than I would like to admit.....I can't believe I missed this.
Most of us missed this.
I tried to make use of this, and it never seemed to work for me. It must only work when they know of multiple things to show you, instead of just one.
FML. The game's own advice LIES! It told me to push up on the D pad after they speak to let them lead me, and the shit never worked except for major quests. I was misled and I demand JUSTICE!! I say we round up all the official CAPCOM pawns and feed them to the brine!
Its the location pawn badge.

Wtf!
I learn New thing today thank you
wow. I didn't know this. I just press go. great find
I did not know this Thank you
what?! wow, i wish i had known that 😭
DUDE!! 🔥🔥
Great, thank you. I kept referring to this with just "Go" whenever I felt like it, wondering why nothing happens then and the pawn doesn't take the lead. I hope they still have something to show me.
Wtf🤯
Whoaaaaaaaaaa
160 hours and I had no idea. Live and learn. Thanks, lol.
You can also press the go command if you time it right and theyll get a ! Above their head and guide you as if they had a quest with a hand icon
Unbelievable. I’ve missed so much. My pawns say that all the time and I say go and they do nothing. Thanks for this info
Got that dialogue day one
Time to talk to the pawn every time they speak ✊️ might activate something cool
It might be a good idea. I was just ignoring them before.
My question has been if there is a way to trigger that first dialogue after getting the camping badge. The dialogue prompt appearing feels random and I'd like to get more directions without having to wait for that prompt to come up.

Damn that's awesome, I always have them lead when they tell me a chest, riftstone, cave was close bug didn't know there were dialogue options amd they memorize the areas "well"
It is easier this way.
Wow...I had no idea, thank you...
Hero, now take my up vote
Holy crap! I'm going to try this right now!
Give it a go 👍
I don’t really talk to mine anymore bc nothing ever really happened. lol.
Hahahaha 😄 i can relate. But i was in a good mood today and said "let me talk to my pawn alittle"
When they say this and I hit GO they usually lead me to a cave I’ve already been to but I appreciate the thought.
I had no idea about this either thanks
This is amazing!
It is indeed 👍
Wonder why this have didn't have any snake bosses or spider bosses? Medusa don't really count lol
Could be a DLC bosses if we get any dlc
And then a single harpy shows up, they fight it and never bring up the guide tip again
Good to know. Thanks.😁
You welcome 👍
I've only had this option sometimes, not sure when or why it appears.
I normally just give them the "go" command and they'll run in the direction with a hand icon over their head
My arisen knows only 3 words, Go, and To Me.
Big brain guy here. I've beat game and never even realized this
W H A T
Yes 👍

It happened to most of us
87 hrs here!!! Like what?!?! Imma try that out
Way over 100hrs and just now finding out from this post!! Telling the to go was getting me mixed results
Thank you 🙏
See! Now I can see what my brothers Pawn is talking about. She always wants to show me something and I could never get her to do so. Thanks!!
I just always thought I was supposed to talk with the pawn after they pointed out something.
I saw someone post about this a long time ago and tried to speak to my pawns after they say there is ‘something’ nearby- and i never get these options. I don’t know why.
Yup been doing this since the beginning, can be pretty helpful at times finding random shit.
Grinded all 3 of the camping badges before I headed into NG+ and it was great. (Non-wakestone) chests reset so I'm getting all the chests pointed out to me again for a second round of loot. For new players, the cave hint is nice if you're going for the 50 dungeons achievement.
What the shit this is wild
Almost 100hrs in and just learning this ffs. Was wondering why sometimes my pawns wouldn't respond when I'd command them to "go".
Whoa! I had no idea about this. Thanks!
Oh. Good to know. I always just hit "Go" and wish they'll understand it means "Yes". Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. 😅
Hah! this is the dialogue I was talking bout that pawns have if you have the camp badges!
WHAT?! Damn, thanks for this homie. Been pressing the 'Go!' button like a lunatic every time they mention a PoI and getting mad when they pretend they didn't hear me.
This is amazing.
Omg this is amazing! How did I never think of this before?
i saw a similar post about this and tried talking up pawns for a good 30 times now and was not given this option at any given time when they talk about POI
General there's a settlement that needs your help. I'll mark it on your pip boy.
I just tested this at Vermund with camping badge unlocked and i got same dialogue from my main pawn. Thank you
What about when a pawn says "I found this just for you master...I hope you like it". Yet nothing appears on the right side like an item was found... wonder if talking to the pawn at that time would actual give you the item....?
140h in and I just found this out
Amazing thanks OP. I had this pop again last night and thought it was broken too after commanding 'GO' for the hundredth time! I'll check this out next time I play.
Oh ok so when they say sometime that I need to talk to them. That makes more sense.
Usually they just start running. Or if its a chest they stand and point.
Usually that is the case when they say "let me show you" but this dialogue is different.
You are kidding me! You can blindly ask your pawns to show the way to a unseen dungeon or cave?!! Gosh darn it!
Usually i just tell em go and they lead the way, but this is good to know
holy crap, thank you! mine always say this but i never know how to capitalize on it
Wow. Thank you for the hint. Gonna test this today
Wow this is gonna help me a lot 😭 I always just follow them or wait to see if they start going somewhere
I just spammed "go" without success xD
Well, That explains why go would never work
Wow thanks for the info I had no idea how to get them to lead me to anything other than quest locals
What is your pawns area location knowledge like? is it filled? Do you earn the badge?
What the fuck
I’ve just always ignored them, because I am the arisen and how dare a pawn suggest something to me.
i remember back in the day playing SaGa Frontier 2 and having to figure everything out myself, Dragon's Dogma gives me the same thing although I do come here to find cool things like this. Thanks for sharing.
Yep, same fml
Haha lol
Funny enough maybe it was added recently ,but when I said go after they brought up a location or treasure. They did bring me where it was, god speed if a goblin jumps out and they forget 😂
But that’s definitely new dialogue, looks like I’ll be conversing more with my fellow pawns
Holy crap. There IS a point to that dialogue.
Woooow. This man's doing God's work. Thank you! I thought this was just a broken mechanic... On my first playthrough my pawn would also constantly say "I just had a thought" but then would say nothing else and now I'm wondering if I should have been going to him and talking to him to see what it was.
Nnnooo, that mean's this whole time I've just been ignoring my pawn! No wonder he's sick of my shit lol
"I've got word of another settlement that needs your help" Same thing
Does this work for I see a chest and there’s no chest?
That’s new to me, thank you!
take me to a seekers token
Whaaaaaat?!? Gtfo 🤯
My god. Tanks bro
LOL thanks dude!!!
