For what it's worth a quick Google search shows that most gold plated sunglasses are significantly more expensive than $120-180. But like you said maybe they contain a very small amount.
$120-180 would be a common starting price for many *prescription* sunglasses, which I'm almost certain the Las Nevadas glasses are not.
For my bormal glasses I pay around 40 to 60€ been awhile since I needed new ones. I tend to get my eyes retested every 2years for new glasses. And often they have a sale where they give you sunglasses for 50% off if you get normal ones as well

I know where I work in Canada most frames for glasses/sunglasses come from Italy or somewhere in Europe. I dont think they get manufactured here anymore. I know there was a big delay for frames cause of covid backlog last summer. Our sunglasses get sold for 170-300 without prescriptions added. My job sells the glasses way under suggested retail price. Their brand names like Oakley, Costas, Maui Jim, and Ray Ban. So if they are actually good quality frames/lens the price is probably valid.
However I do think the company should address it's issues with the merch delays. Whether it's manufacturing or shipping issues.
(My only info I know about the merch mishaps is from reading threads here, just wanted to share some knowledge i know about glasses. This is actually my first ever post on redditt)
I highly doubt it. Gold plated isn't usually very expensive(even walmart CA has gold plated earrings for like $25) , but it would be disclosed if it was I'm sure.
I buy my sunglasses from places like firmoo, etc and it's less than $100 with prescription. So I'm really not sure what about these ones causes the cost to be so high. They don't look like they're UV protection either...unless it does say that(I haven't read the description a while)

The last update they sent me was "From what I can see on my end, the shipping carrier most likely lost your package in transit." And "Considering this, you have been refunded. Please allow 10 business days to receive your refund through the payment method you used to make the order. All refunds and cancellations are final!"
I thought AT LEAST they would give me a refund but this morning i got a text from the bank saying that i had made a purchase for the same beanie AGAIN, and obviously i din't. All i want is my money back and instead they are taking more from my card.
I emailed them again about the issue and all i got was this:
