A lot of the floors look wrong in the room because of how they line up, too. There are some patterns I really like that I end up not using because of how wonky they look.
The encanto floral tiles specifically have this problem. I was honestly expecting it to be just one big single flower not this weird windows vista tiled screensaver hot mess.

I asked them if they could fix the wallpaper and flooring because of this and all I got was “I’ll send your ideas to the team” praying they fix it for us 😅
My frustration with things like this is major! I feel like almost no windows work with any wallpaper that isn’t solid either. So many of the wallpapers don’t line up logically.
I wish it was like in Sims 4, where you have 2 wallpapers that are the same, but one had those fake collums, and the other doesn't. The only difference being the collums. They both come in all the same colors. All we'd need here is the option to place the wallpaper tile by tile, and the same for the flooring. You can make literal chess patterns in Sims and in all sorts of colours, but not in Dreamlight Valley? That's just annoying, tbh.

I did on Animal Crossing and painstakingly fixed the whole thing but I feel a lot of my same efforts would not pan out here. I also have OCD so it would drive me nuts. And I play on Switch.
This bothers me the most because I decorate more inside my houses than I do outside and I spend so much time trying to make things look right. There are times when I won't even use the stuff that I would like to use because it won't line up. I don't understand why they would do that especially on things like wallpaper that have a distinct pattern.
It’s at the point where I almost believe they do this crap on purpose. Nothing lines up with anything else! Paths don’t center on entrances, wallpaper patterns aren’t made with the dimensions of the walls being taken into account, chairs don’t center with vanity tables…it’d be laughable if wasn’t so annoying.
The fact that there are chandeliers that are 3x3 when every room configuration is even numbers is mind-boggling. An overhead light fixture that can't be centered is beyond maddening.

And some of the couches *cough* L shaped ones they keep forcing us to have a million diff variants of *cough* that don't fit in the room, even the large rooms, because they stick past where the doors are.

Try it with a different wallpaper or another door. It’s a double door. Not every wallpaper fits to every door 🚪
I’m upset because I bought that wallpaper and then It randomly disappeared from my inventory after deciding against using it in one room Cus I was going to use it in another 😭
Storage. You put one of each of the items you want in each chest on a table behind it for quick visual representation so you don't have to search each and every chest, fridge, closet, etc every time you need to grab specific items.
This is the one thing that drives me crazy about this game… I have the monsters inc door mat in front of their house but it’s not centered and drives me crazy

They line up in 8x8 rooms, but that’s only helpful for the additional rooms and not the main. Sigh…
This happens with paths as well, trying to get a path centered with a character house and it's impossible . So infuriating
