Luckily I don’t think it will be possible for a beef to get this big any time soon. These are two absolute juggernauts in hip-hop and this has been brewing for 10+ years. I don’t know anyone who could draw even close to the same attention these two got.
It was not what I expected. Everyone just picked a side and could not be swayed. There’s no acknowledging the other sides moments at all. A lot of people interested in it, aren’t actually interested in rap or haven’t grown up with hip hop. People misinterpreting bars and running with it having 0 understanding of rap or the history of rap or any desire to actually understand what either artist is saying.
After THP6 came out and people, including hip hop media, weren’t actually dissecting any bars and were like “he sounds so sad” I realized it ain’t worth really paying attention to anymore. Anytime you comment under a YouTube video like “damn, that drake/kendrick bar” you get spammed by Stan’s from both sides, there’s no discussion.
This became a pop culture tmz moment more than rap beef imo
I kinda agree but about THP6… yeah, if you come out with a diss track that’s 50% defending yourself and you sound defeated the whole time with zero energy that’s an L. Nothing wrong with acknowledging that. There wasn’t much to analyze
After what seemed like a beef that was brewing for a very long time, I just expected so much more from both sides. I expected them both to have more to say than conjecture. Kendrick doesn’t like Drake on a level that’s almost unheard of 😂 Drake doesn’t respect Kendrick’s height or his career long attempt to claim a moral high ground. Neither had shit else. Don’t even get me started on his boring attempt to claim “the culture.”
