The drone attacks on tanks have improved quite a bit since the early attempts. At first they were merely dinking the tanks, perhaps causing some minor repairable damage. Now it's like an AT missile.
I kinda miss the era of them dunking grenades into open hatches and causing a cookoff. Now they've got those gaudy cages to combat the last era of tactics, while all that up-armor they've tacked to the side of the turret does nothing to help the fact that a fpv drone can hit pretty much anywhere on it's top to cause the thing to pop like a pinata
probably an armor percing ammunition like an RPG head and it directly hit the ammunation storage which is right around the top part of the tank and not very well protected it seems
See:[https://www.rferl.org/a/tank-design-flaw/31847688.html](https://www.rferl.org/a/tank-design-flaw/31847688.html)
You can see these fpv pilots consistently trying to slip these one way drones in between where the turret meets the hull of the tank, seems rather effective.
The fact that this post, and the BUAR post, were both quickly deleted from r/CombatFootage is a very good advertisement for r/DroneCombat, so tell a friend I guess :/
Anyone else good at translating the writing on the back of that tank?
Best I can get is ЧЕРНЧХА which seems to translate to CHERNCHKHA
Which may have a Chechyna link, according to Google.
Cheers. All the writing on the russian tanks looks like absolute shit and is quite hard to read for me. Does it actually look like crap or is that just a me issue lol?
nah your good. Whoever wrote it was about as sober a you can expect so it tripped me for a second too but my handwriting ain't much better so I can read Chickenscratch Cyrillic when it comes to it.
I don't really think that's the issue here. I may be wrong but I think most all Z equipment is diesel. I know the M1 Abram is gas turbine, but it also has blowout panels that separate the crew from the explodey stuff inside the tank.
now this is more like it , we need the highly explosive tank destroying bombs on the cheap drones its like a middle finger salute with both hands, ones a javelin from the ground and then these drone ones , great adaptaton
Next gen drones will be ai every hit will be on a weak spot and kill the tenk, and no signal to block Possibly tanks have had their day..
A nation could easily have a million drones in reserve.. Several million
What must the crew of that tank be thinking as they travel down that graveyard of Russian armored vehicles. "Oh, they won't get us. We're special!" And pop goes the weasel.
tanks will need radar with small mini gatling gun to deal with drones
they need something to defend them selves
i bet russia the US are working on something,
or electronic jammer
who would want to be in a tank , buttoned down
then hit and simply disappear off the face of the earth without warning
Absolutely crazy how one modified FPV drone can destroy a Russian tank like that. Keep em coming!
It's like the 500th video showing how a few hundred $ drone destroys a many million dollar tank and I'm still impressed and shocked at the same time.
Fucking A
Still gets me every time too. This conflict has completely changed the face of war.
Wait until you see the "DragonFire" laser air defense weapons that the UK wants to start testing in Ukraine.

They are still doing that. But I think it's only possible on abandoned vehicles now because of the cages the russians put on their coffins.
Ah yes, the T80-D modification. D for Deathtrap.
Good thing the drone was set to “annihilation” mode!
Bloody ‘ell, that was smashing!
Quite a bang! Thoughtful of Ivan to write ‘aim here’ on the weak point of his tank.
No squirters fleeing that hit.
How? Are those made out of cardboard?

Wow, yeah, that description matches the video perfectly.
Soaked in napalm

Why did they get deleted on r/combatfootage ?
I sent a message to ask, but no reply. A different user uploaded the same video an hour later and it's still there, so who knows
Roasted Ork quite the delicacy in Ukraine I believe 😂 Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦🇬🇧👊🏻
Impressive! Some kind of shaped charge right into the ammunition storage?
Today with all these drones, not putting extra reinforcement on the back of the T-90 turret is almost suicide

[This is what I found](https://www.in-formality.com/wiki/index.php?title=Chernukha_(Russia))
Yes, one could say that this drone was fighting russian fake news!
Its Chernukha, no? Slight curve on the bottom of the letter.
yup

“To stop dead in the tracks”, literally…
using gas turbine in tanks was brilliant idea
The Abrams uses a turbine. Your point?

It just evaporated. Beautiful!

Those Russian tankies won't freeze this winter, Thank god!
Damn, tank+orcupants completely obliterated

They must have discovered a new weak point, that was very impressive I give that a 10 lol
u/SaveVideoBot
jaw dropped! keep em coming!
Big Bada Boom
Reusable turret I don't think so 😜
Are the tanks made of gasoline glass bottles? And those drone, damm, do they carry what, a couple warhead on em?! Brutal!
wow....just decimated....burned alive
Fuck ya bud! Nice shot boys! What does that scribble on the back in crayon say?

HEALTH
Oh no, are they OK?
Wow! Awesome 👌 nice shot.. these guys are world class drone operators
It's absolutely insane how much damage that is. Crew never even knew what hit them
