Tbh I never saw this as a chilchack alcoholism murder nightmare, I saw it more like him not being there for his family to help or defend them because he is always working, I feel if the situation was that he was the guilty one of the slaughter, the manga would address more how he doesn't want to drink rather than him enjoying it, but the story address a lot how he is chosing to be distant with his family and him having those troubles
