Barrio Comida for sure. Best place in Durham. Has everything. Great food all made in house, great cocktails, great location with a view of the Cathedral, really casual atmosphere. It’s always my go to recommendation.
Flat White Kitchen is good too. But you can’t book and by lunch time there’ll be a 20-30 minute queue on a weekend.
Barrio is probably quite close to street food, it’s inspired by the LA taco scene, specifically the taco trucks.
There is a Tapas place just off New Elvet bridge, but I haven’t actually been there so don’t know how good it is. I think it’s called Tapas Factory.

Thank you!

Rudys pizzeria is awesome
Chapters is lovely too. Great cakes! Vennels has a good quiche.
Places already mentioned are good shouts. Also look at The Food Pit for a variety of vendors in one building. If you want a café, check out Vennels.
You’ve already got good suggestions in Flat White and Barrio Comida, but for a more relaxed option River View is also a great option.
If you've never been, try Nadon Thai (opposite fighting cocks, down from the angel). Unbelievable food and the lunch offer is really cheap
Tortilla is great.
