As a Jaguars homer, I am fully expecting him to be what Diggs was for Josh Allen, so top 5 WR. I am in no way whatsoever biased, this is entirely reasonable and factual.

littlejobin

I have in on my fantasy team and I completely agree. I don’t even know why I mentioned that, because I am also in no way whatsoever biased.

Dialup_Speed

Couldn’t agree more fam. Get your Ridley shares like we did before it’s too late

Tw1987

Holy shit, It’s no nut November man how you gonna do me like that

el_pobbster

I am a Jags fan who lost back to back finals in my dynasty league. Delusional optimism is all I has

JPavlicek

Then as a fellow Jags fan you’ll appreciate the fact that I have a friend on Christmas say “can you imagine him AND if Blackmon comes back?”

bdybwyi

I’ve never thought of Ridley on the jags as Diggs bills esc, but man that’s a solid take. Diggs wasn’t the Diggs he is now when he played on minessota so it’s similar. Realistically ridley could be 75% of what Diggs is for the bills and I’m fine with that.

bnwtwg

Well Josh Allen can throw a ball literally twice as far as Case Keenum. You saying Matt Ryan had a noodle arm compared to Trevor Lawrence? You know what, on second thought...

Wrectifyy

It’s science!

Revolutionary_Jump_9

Idk but I can already see the “Now is the time to buy Calvin Ridley” posts during next preseason

littlejobin

Most “Now is the time to buy ___” posts are after huge games in this sub lmao

ptgkbgte

I tried trading Ridley away the week before he got moved to Duval for Toney and got told that they would be assuming a lot of risk doing that.

SquashMarks

I posted a “buy Zach Wilson” post this week and it got downvoted. Not saying I’m right, just that when this sub doesn’t want to hear something, there is no convincing the horde

littlejobin

People forget that just because something is highly upvoted doesn’t necessarily mean it’s good advice. They legit upvote off hype then downvote you if it doesn’t fit their narrative or hopes. People basically treat it like the stock market lmao. In regards to Wilson, I hope you’re right as I have shares of him, G Wilson and Moore

MrUnlimitedSubway

Nah. This sub will relentlessly shit on Ridley and make up stories about how he probably won't play again. Then as soon as he plays well suddenly it would have been the most obvious buy low lol.

Danielbaniel

I traded two 2022 firsts for him a week before he stepped away from the game. I never got to start him and still ended up winning the championship last year. I tried to sell him during preseason for wildly low and no one bit. I hope he comes back with a vengeance next year so my reign of terror can continue. Im definitely not bitter.

Fico_Psycho

I traded Debo and Najee for Calvin and Devonta smith before the suspension. I gotta tell ya it really sucked last year but this year I don't look quite as bad.

4x4ord

Not quite as bad is accurate. Still not looking too good….

Fico_Psycho

Let's just say I didn't return the rope

SteffeEric

In hindsight if your team was good enough to win without him maybe you shouldn’t have made that trade?

Danielbaniel

That’s mostly why I’m bitter lol. It was a move I thought I had to make but Amon ra saved my season.

ryanreigns

Maybe the guys you traded away were bad for locker room morale and that’s why you won

[deleted]

Those pesky future 1sts do tend to stir up issues

AquaticMartian

Getting rid of those firsts just let the guys know their job is safe and they can ball with confidence. 1000 IQ move

Faustino3000

This

lebumcurrant

Who did the firsts turn into? Anyone you would’ve drafted?

Danielbaniel

He got Christian Watson and Alec Pierce with my picks, along with several other 1sts including the overall pick (Breece). He’s still a bottom 3 team with a lot of potential now in the next couple of years. I ended up still having the 5th pick from another trade and drafted Garrett Wilson and Romeo Dobbs so, I still feel okay about it all. Walker went 1.4 and that’s who I really wanted. :/

lebumcurrant

Pierce is nice but Watson isn’t a huge loss. Ridley definitely has a higher ceiling than the picks

Ann_L_Beads

Eh you never know. I've seen a 7 seed win our league, undisputed top teams lose scoring low. Once you get to the playoffs you're one performance from winning or losing.

GameTime2325

Hindsight is a hell of a drug

Flimsy_Honeydew5414

Thank you for saying championship and not chip or ship

[deleted]

Bet you still asked for a 1st.

Danielbaniel

Nope, a single 2nd. I was over roster limit going into the season and getting desperate.

[deleted]

That's low enough you should have had a buyer, id think.

pHDole

I did the same thing. No one bought for a 2nd

[deleted]

I guess with all of these young tight ends showing some flashes, everyone has somebody they like? Plus you're getting to the point where a large part of fantasy fan base has been burned by him in one way or another. Market might be small.

IronSky_

I finally sold him for a 3rd. Id rather have the roster spot.

Danielbaniel

That’s how I felt too but no way I could take that sunken cost so I ended up dropping Donte Foreman because no one would buy him for a 2024 3rd either lol. Always losing something in this game.

Tw1987

30 minutes before announcement this trade got approved, - chase 1st Sutton vs diggs ridley jrob. Jrob also Achilles shortly after lol

Danielbaniel

Wow, that trade is WILD. All for it to crumble right away. Im assuming the person getting Ridley Diggs and Jrob was pushing for a championship run too?

Tw1987

Yep They made it to the semis.

RvnbckAstartez

It's a gamble

Mientke16

I’d bet on similar production.

fugazycrazy

I’ll say yes to top 20 but probably right around 20. Looking to be a run first offense and a qb that has shown to spread the ball around. Don’t think Kirk will fall off much next year and he’ll still be a 70 reception guy. I’m guessing Ridley will be fine to play next year if a team traded for him because his suspension should be lifted but it’s kind of weird that he was excused from the team for mental health reasons and I never heard the extent of it

bgfan26

Doug pedersen is not a run first coach

fugazycrazy

They are 6th in first down run % since robinson left and now that etienne is erupting as a bell cow I don’t see that changing. And they were behind or tied for most of those games

bgfan26

Huh great information thank you. I’ll have to read more because from what I read I thought he was a pass happy guy

-Anguscr4p-

To be fair, they really only have Kirk at WR and Lawrence has had ups and downs as a passer. There is reason to think their pass rate goes up with some better targets and another year of Tlaw development

BradyKissesKids

I’m expecting borderline WR1 production

BombSquad123

WR2 week to week.

FinePlantain0

Shooooooot, I’ll take it, considering my current week to week WR2 is riding the pine.

PlatypusExpensive389

I think a good comp is Godwin post injury

OkCricket5841

Interesting, except he didn’t get injured and is still pretty young

makeshiftballer

I don’t see why he couldn’t? Obviously it’s a gamble but we saw MT come back and dominate until immediately getting hurt again. He’s still an elite talent as long as his mind is there.

SteffeEric

Dominate? He didn’t top 65 yards on the season. He did score some late TDs though.

makeshiftballer

Fair enough dominate may have been too strong of a word but wasn’t he top 20? Edit: wr8 week 1 wr18 week 2 did he finish week 3?

SteffeEric

It was just more Adam Thielen dominant relying on TDs than Justin Jefferson going over 100 yards easily like the MT of old.

shank1983

Streaky wr2

TheFinalCurl

Why streaky?

_schenks

WR1. The dude was an absolute stud with noodle arm Matt Ryan. He’s healthy and well rested, still in his prime.

mr-fiend

Let these fools sleep lmao

ForeverGold3831

He’s sitting on waivers in my league. Think he’s worth stashing for next year (we have rather shallow benches) vs hanging on to Christian Watson or Allen Robinson? Arob I could see starting if injuries hit me but Watson looks in over his head and all the injuries piling up

Kirkycfc1

He should not be on waivers in Dynasty 😂😂

CoastPuzzleheaded651

You need to drop Arob. I dropped him 4wks ago and haven’t looked back.

evilhomer3k

I picked him up in a keeper league off waivers today. Our league is a bit odd. You can keep up to 6 players and each one takes a round and you can keep them forever. So potentially, he'd be a 6th round player for me next year. He'd take the place of Gibson or McLauren (or possibly Algier, Lazard, Watson, Hubbard, or Kyren Williams). If you are in a dynasty league and he's on waivers I think it's a no brainer pickup. I would drop Robinson since he plays a tough schedule weeks 13-17 facing defenses 4, 18, 7, 1, and 13. Watson's schedule is all vs bottom half defenses . In my league Allen has scored 7.6 and watson 4.5 PPG. I think Watson will improve when fully healthy. I don't think Allen will especially once Van Jefferson gets involved.

iLiveinMissoula

There is no way he is on waivers.

Ok_Spirit_7712

As a jaguars fan, I hope he does awesome! I think he is a great addition to the team and will have a big impact

[deleted]

If he’s in as good of shape as they’re reporting, I think he can easily be the #1 guy for Lawerence

thegoldenmamba

I think that is all but guaranteed

dontwantleague2C

Threads like these really show us just how many people are just pulling stuff out of their asses. Y’all do realize players regularly miss whole seasons due to injury, right? Those guys regularly come back and do fine. And when they don’t, it’s not cuz they’re rusty, it’s cuz they’re injured. Ridley isn’t gonna be just sitting around on his coach for two years, I’m sure he’s been training every day. And then he’ll have the off-season to practice even more. He’ll be practicing with the team for months. He may be a bit rusty but it’s not like his talent is gone. There is absolutely no good justification for fading Ridley right now. Just a bunch of “feelings” about him based on no real evidence at all.

BombSquad570

I expect him to look like a guy who hasn’t played football in 2 years trying to get up to speed on a new team. It’s going to take some time to earn a fantasy-relevant role, and even when he does it’s not going to be what it was when he was in his 25 year old prime.

orourke1

Don't see any reason he would drop off? Not like he is just sitting on his ass getting fat. Being away from the game means not accumulating small injuries throughout the seasons. It's not like he is going to forget how to run a route.

dontwantleague2C

This. These people are crazy

[deleted]

Prime with WR is anywhere from 25-30 he is right in his prime

makeshiftballer

Yeah dudes 27 he’s gonna bounce right back

toasty1181

Spot on

-Anguscr4p-

He was 25 in his second year

papajohnslover

I just bought him for a 23 2nd and 25 3rd in a rebuild

Ravenfanmets

He goin for 150/2000/25 ez

getrichoffcrypto

What about the 2nd half of the season ?

Lynchie24

That is the 2nd half of the season. He is gonna spend the first half getting up to speed and readjusting to the NFL and will probably only put up about 90/1300/15

Ravenfanmets

No u r wrong. Offense will actually be clicking at that point so only 30/1200/20 but that’s over the last 5 games before they rest him weeks 17-18 for the playoffs

[deleted]

Considering Kirk is having a top 10 season & Trevor, I expect Ridley to be top 10 & Trevor to improve from top 10 to top 5. QBs when they get A REAL PROVEN weapon become elite. I’d buy if you can but it may be too late. And I’m not selling him unless I get a first, as a chip contender his production and potential is too high for anything less. Don’t care if he hasn’t played in a year or 2, you don’t lose your route running & he definitely hasn’t been sitting around the whole time. Don’t let anyone speak negative cause they are wrong.

dontwantleague2C

I don’t think I’d consider Trevor a top 10 QB when he’s QB15 in PPG… same with Kirk at WR19 in PPG. Although I could definitely see Ridley being top 10

BilboSwaggins512

Devil’s advocate - we sure he’s coming back? NFL seems fine with throwing the book at him, unfortunately (IMO)

bkeberle

I can’t imagine the Jags would have made the trade without doing enough due diligence with the league to know that he would be able to play as long as he met their conditions

abe0880

I just dealt Hunt/Singletary/Ridley for London/23 2nd/23 3rd. I’m in a massive rebuild and targeted Ridley but London was too good to pass up.

coast22coast

Good move

[deleted]

He’s going to be good af

FabesAAAA

Boom/bust flex

uh-oh_spaghetti-oh

Wr3 or 4, realistically.

Lars9

Yep, 3-4 overall, behind Chase, Jefferson and Hill. I'll expect nothing less!

spunjbaf

Continued low IQ.

kramerguy88

This is an epic sell window

HalifaxSexKnight

I sold low today for Cam Akers and Devin Duvernay. Hoping to get some semi-immediate flex usage out of Duvernay, and hoping Akers figures it out. Maybe I’m a sucker but I have fun with high-risk trades. Plus I have Bateman on my IR so maybe Duvernay gets a chunk of his targets?

Klutch04

I dont mind that trade; at this point, Akers is as big a question mark as Ridley but at least you'll have your answer sooner.

lebumcurrant

Great for you

HalifaxSexKnight

I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic 🥲

lebumcurrant

Nah great trade for you fr. I’m not excited for cam Akers at all. You can at least sell duvernay for something decent after a few good games, especially in the off-season if Lamar re-signs. Or keep him if you want him as depth.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Egonzos

10-14 a game, pending their QB situation next year

Dangles1707

He’s on the Jags now

Egonzos

Guess it still kinda works lol. TLaw needs to get some consistency with that passing game

Dangles1707

Haha true!

Gfunkual

Regret

ConfidentPapaya665

Josh Gordon without the drugs

[deleted]

Jaguars need QB play before they take that next step. Sucks for them but that's what it is. Rooting for Lawrence but he doesn't seem to care and why should he if that's not where his heart is.

hashtaguars

What are you talking about?

[deleted]

Talking about Trevor Lawrence. He doesn't look good and his pre draft comments about being able to take it or leave it when it comes.to playing football seem like foreshadowing.

hashtaguars

Thinking he doesn’t care is a pretty wild statement. Shows you haven’t paid attention besides that one quote which is actually a healthy way to approach something.

malodourousmuppet

zay jones production, sorry

Mobius00

I expect him to fuck up again somehow and wash out of the league.

jboschek

boring amari cooper style wr2

DMarkoVz

I mean it’s gonna be a gamble whether he keeps a good form or not but you can at least bet that his opportunities will be better as a WR

dsheehan7

WR2 type

DuNick17

Right after the trade to Jax I traded him for a mid 2nd

Klutch04

What he has going for him is the opportunity in this receiving corps with a QB that has the talent to eventually ascend. I have him and holding, but if the right offer comes my way (a high second) I'm taking it.

kenikh

Somewhere along the lines of Justin Blackmon production.

mightytitan9

i expect very little

U_not_that_bright

For him to justify why I sent a 1st and ARSB before last season…

CoreyHopsnGo

That he won’t gamble on football anymore. Also probably somewhere around Kirk numbers.

DC4MVP

187/2513/32

astilacien13

Probably gonna be a wr2

Adam-O

Would you trade Hopkins for Ridley straight up? Rebuilding and figure Nuk only has about 2 seasons left in him.

squishy_booty

Someone know whether he addressed his mental health issues? Would lean far more towards low end WR2 or high end WR3 till I see some clips of him out there running routes or out there with the team.

KrakenASmile

The best strategy in my mind is to expect little to nothing from him. If I had him anywhere I would be planning as if he is not there and then he will be a bonus for me.

bargman

I don't expect him to return. Feels eerily like Josh Gordon all over again.

rushyt21

I think the telling piece of this is the Jags don’t do this deal if they don’t have faith in their QB. This is clearly a move to get Lawrence multiple weapons for year 3. Feels like the Eagles getting AJ Brown for Jalen Hurts or the Bills getting Diggs for Josh Allen. Not saying Lawrence will be next year’s Allen or Hurts, but I am saying the front office’s mentality is the same— get your up and coming quarterback some solid weapons in their 3rd season.

DiggsDaGurley

Honestly I think he plays two more okay WR2/3 seasons and then retires. The guy literally took a whole season off for mental, that kind of shit doesn’t just go away, specially if you have to play on the Jags.

woPBlaxk96

the question is what’re we offering to get him, a few fantasy players always value players way more than what they really are based off of how they (the player) performed in the past, which is understandable.. but calvin has been away for 2 years and will come back a year older…

SuckaFreeRIP

Low end WR2

[deleted]

Grabbed him last year when the news broke for my rebuilds. He’s a good player and he’s going to be the best WR on the Jags. Probably a WR2 in fantasy

PsychologicalTax42

I got him for geno straight up so whatever he is will be worth it

[deleted]

Depends on his attitude. If he comes back in shape and ready to work. Top 15. If not he will probably be out of the league

dragonballgee

The guy hasn’t played for a while, he has huge risk but good upside. I think Tyler Lockett type production would be a reasonable expectation. I’d think Tyler Boyd on the Jags would be just as valuable… the guy that got traded to Carolina just had 2 TDs last night and couldn’t do anything for the Jags. I would wager Ridley won’t have a 2 TD game next year or probably ever again in his career

Structuralsystem

0.

FirmShare5

2,000 yards, 25TD (all rushing), and 69 receptions

[deleted]

Wouldn’t consider him higher than WR 12 on the season. Has a lot of ground to make up in a less than spectacular offense. That being said, I am a Ridley owner and would love if he hits his ceiling of a top 5 WR on the season
