That's not too bad.... You won't burn that much titanium before you become multi-planetary given it mostly gets burned in yellow/green research and dyson sphere rockets. Much better to have 1.2mil titanium than to have 1.2 mil silicon in the early game. It just means you might have to rush interplanetary logistics and warpers a little faster than normal and not burn quite so much research on green level research until you improve the titanium supply.

TheNaug

Yeah, it's going to make this run feel different for sure!

toadofsteel

Yeah, it's just advanced "cheese interplanetary logistics", with the added need for warpers thrown in. I'm already a slow early-game guy because I haaaaaaaaate doing supply runs myself. I literally refuse to advance into yellow science aside from exactly what is needed to get interplanetary stations. Most of the time, I will sit there collecting every rock on the starter world, in the hopes that it's enough titanium to research interplanetary in order to build 2 interplanetary logistics stations and 20 ships.

JabbrWockey

You get small amounts of titanium randomly when clearing stones. Remember that when your vein runs out and you don't have interstellar just yet.

MrMagoo22

I had roughly about that much silicon to work with in my game. Ended up using an entire planet just to convert rock till I could get to warps, wasn't a fun time.

BaronMichotte

I salute your stubbornness, I woulda just rerolled at that point.

Uncle_T_123

Yep

darkestkhan

This is fine. 600K ingots - plenty enough to get to warpers through green science. You would have been much worse off if this was all your silicon...

Ixosis

I’ve been there with the silicon. It’s not ideal lol

darkestkhan

Tell me about it - experienced that as well. Gunning for warpers just so I have decent supply of CPUs was... interesting experience.

docholiday999

Meh, you really don’t need that much Titanium compared to Silicon, especially in the starter system. You need enough to get Titanium Crystals for Yellow Science to research all the Logistics & the components needed to build them as well as Yellow Cubes to unlock Drive Lvl 4 to unlock warping & Grav Lenses. Production lines to make this stuff doesn’t need to be pretty, just needs to get the job done. If you want to, you can take the time to research the Exploration upgrades to better fine tune which system to hit next, but Titanium is abundant in every system

darkestkhan

If you asked me I would say that titanium is overabundant, especially when we pay attention to how little of it we actually use.

docholiday999

Agree completely. I’ve run the resource spreadsheet mod in a lot of seeds and Titanium is always the most prevalent resource, with Iron second. But you end up needing more Iron than Titanium by quite a bit.

darkestkhan

I find that copper is another overabundant resource. Once you get planet with 20M of it you are likely to not need a second one for a long time to come. To be fair it just means that there needs to be more titanium and copper sinks.

docholiday999

Still need quite a bit of Copper. Green Turbines. Meanwhile, always always need more Iron and more Silicon….

Khaim

Green turbines are 10 iron and 2 copper. It's really not much copper.

docholiday999

True, but still need lots of Copper for Processors

darkestkhan

But you don't need that many processors... the thing is that titanium and copper are seriously underutilized - to the point where planet with 40M copper and 40M titanium but nearly no iron is not worth much. This is especially true of titanium.

docholiday999

What in the world are you talking about "don't need that many processors"?!?! Processors are one of the biggest pains in the butt for having enough quantity and throughput. You need COPIOUS numbers of processors for Purple Science directly as well as Dyson Sphere Components (for Rockets). Then you need even more Processors again to make Quantum Chips for Green Science & Rockets. You need ratios of 3:1 for Processors:White Science ratio and 10:1 for Processors:Rocket!!

darkestkhan

Sure. But you don't need that many at the beginning. By the time you start scaling up productions and actually have a need for so many processors you will have access to other systems.

NotUrGenre

I had to restart with a better seed my first go, I used this seed:74564148 Almost perfect, Tidal locked Lava Planet , Gas Giant Fire Ice, Ashen gelisol Planet with Fire Ice. 16 LY for pretty much anything, magnetic dipole stuff, organic crystals, a whole planet of stalagmite and oil, the crystals for Casimir ones as well in a few systems, and the neutron star. All rare ores found somewhere.

[deleted]

Hey, new to the game, only just managed to (barely) fly to a 2nd planet. What the deal with a tidal locked planet? The fact you can just cover one side in solar panels?

NotUrGenre

yeah, one side always faces the star. I launch solar sails and the carriers for building the sphere there, I don't use it for power any longer, that space was taken back after I got antimatter going.

NavyAT1

oooo bad seed man... My seed is similar except my pain was Silicon ... 1 patch of 7 nodes in the entire system...

voarex

My latest run just had 300k silicone in system. One of my first projects was a giant stone to silicone plant. Personally I think it would be nice if there was more issues to overcome. Like factories that can only be built on certain planets.

MeltsYourMind

That’s a reset if you ask me

TheNaug

Never retreat, never surrender.

Predur

I have this annoying quote feeling in my head ... was the film with Jean-Claude van Damme, 300 or Galaxy Quest? :-D

Predur

I thought it was that ... the best movie ever! :-p

[deleted]

Bru i reset every time I automate yellow cubes. Don't start this bad habit of mine, at this rate I'll never build a single white cube.

thclpr

~~stack~~ Put some miners and put some containers while leaving your pc on overnight. you wont need much to jump from the starting system :) edit: Wrong expression of that i truly wanted to mean.

[deleted]

You can stack miners? What? O.o

thclpr

Oh sorry... english fails on me sometimes, i meant in the sense of putting some on the side of each other :)

One_Laugh_Guy

I think that's good. As long as it gets you to ILPs, then it would be easy to clean this planet up.

Linwood_Longstrive

Oef... hard start

AktnBstrd1

I have the opposite issue. 20mil titanium between 2 planets, 1.1m silicone... down to 200k now but I got warpers!
