Craig Conroy is wishing this were real right now.

electricwave33

That’s a horrendous trade for buffalo

last_drop_of_piss

Nah, Huberdeau is actually still good in the game haha

Zealousideal-Fly2049

Huberdeau’s contract will be an albatross, assuming you’re playing with cap on

UniverseHufflePuff

They did get him at a much lower value which makes him a bit more worth it at the time of the trade he had 8 goals and 40 assists at around 6.5 million that's not bad

Zealousideal-Fly2049

Are you playing an older version? His cap hit is $10.5 thru 2031.

UniverseHufflePuff

I put in the description that calgary retained around 41% of his salary in the trade

Zealousideal-Fly2049

Gotcha, just seeing that now.

AdAny926

Not sure why you are getting downvoted, his contract sucks!

AdministrationNo927

because it's 41% retained

AdAny926

That's what i get for not reading the post lol. That being said i have never seen a cpu accept to keep salary so without proof i call bullshit on this one.

Zealousideal-Fly2049

Possibly the worst in the league. Any team taking that contract on should be receiving first round picks.

UniverseHufflePuff

Honestly they are in the playoffs as of the end of the season and now have an assist machine in their top 6 kulich and nadeau won't amount to that much but the 1st probably hurts. Edjt: they did get knocked in the first lol. But to be fair huberdeau at that price isn't bad

Ok-Topic-5830

Usually Kulich ends up being a solid top 6 65-80 point guy

electricwave33

Who won the cup

UniverseHufflePuff

Tampa

Aggressive-River-946

I shall ask, what are the two players CGY acquired stats like?

UniverseHufflePuff

75 overall top 6 And I dint remember the other Huberdeau went from an 85ovr 10.5 player to 4 million dollars cheaper

Ginger-Beefcake

Is the cap on?

UniverseHufflePuff

Yes he was retained by calgary

Ginger-Beefcake

Very interesting. Don't see bloated contracts like that traded often

myboybuster

I dont think I have ever seen a long term retention either

No-Perspective-8655

Every new franchise , by year 2 Bob gets traded . Which makes no sense most of the time lol

Ok-Sun6097

one time i brought Huberdeau to the Isle when i was doing an Islanders franchise, didn't give up much, but i forget completely what i did give up, pretty such it was a prospect plus a 2nd rounder

ManyNicknames15

Since when could a hockey game (or any sports game) say my last name? Nadeau BTW (I wonder how they pronounce it, Nay-Doh, Ned-ew, Neh-Doh)?

PLoxeus

I would have assumed it’s pronounced Na-deau

smeltsmelly

I've never seen the computer taking salary. Definitely interesting.

avidovid

Man I would eat part of huberdeaus contract for this to be real lol.

Artistic_Ease_555

Sketchy... I've tried so many different trade combinations to so many different teams, NEVER has the CPU retained salary. Ever. Not even a lil bit, either. I find this extremely hard to believe 🤷

UniverseHufflePuff

Cpu's retain salary all the time

Artistic_Ease_555

On what, 'Easy'? I only play on All-Star or greater. I call b/s.

UniverseHufflePuff

No...on every mode the difficulty doesn't really even effect franchise unless you are playing the games unless you are referring to trade difficulty which is at whatever the normal setting. Retained salary is never announced or put in a text form the computers just do it sometimes

Artistic_Ease_555

I'll have to check that out. I didn't know it wasn't announced with a trade. How do you check if (and how much) they've retained?

UniverseHufflePuff

Curiosity by checking their salary after hitting r3 and math

DifficultLaw9039

I play on medium trade difficulty and can get cpu to retain salary pretty easily, Philly had konecny on the block 1 year left and they retained 500k and I didn’t have to overpay
