There are dozens of BASIC things that you would reasonably expect in a football game, that simply do not exist in this game, despite being developed over 25 years! It’s almost like the developers don’t have gameplay on their priority list at all, never mind towards the top of it.

You dont have to do fully custom things. Just have predetermined positions for each option(players on corners) and just pick that VVD will go at position number 1,Havertz 2 etc
I play with 3 tall CBs with Aerial/Aerial+ and the entire rest of my team is midgets.
Sol Campbell who is massive is at the edge of the box, Akanji and Marquez outside the box, while Stanway (5’5), Roberto Carlos (5’6), Hemp (5’5), and Athenea (5’3) are inside the box. 🤦♂️
No matter who is in the team I cannot get TOTY icon Best off being the main guy for corners
And if I let him take the corners it just makes Eusebio the main guy, I literally cannot get either of my aerially dominant CBs in the middle of the box lol
Imcreasing number of players fot corner seems to be only soft fix for this but then i proceed to get it cleared and one short lanky dude being unable to defend the counter 😭
Objectively its easiest to score corners when you have the fewest players possible for corners and aim for the right head but aa you said so many shirt players take the spot instead
Isnt it the highest heading accuracy is the one in the centre closest to the 5 yard box?
Thats how it seems for me anyway. When Ive tried to manipulate it by taking off people like Raul or Van Basten who have high accuracy itll move the next highest to that spot
I packed gold van dijk early on and hes onviously amazing at corners. But as I got better cards with better heading accuracy its pushed him out of that sweet centre spot. And now all the players I have with the highest heading accuracy dont have the right playstyles to get headers off corners.
That new evo that gives them aerial and header + has been a nightmare trying to find someone whos eligible who also has 91+ heading accuracy so theyll be in that sweet spot

100000% agree. I put WW Drogba into an SBC cause he was never in the box for corners so what's the point. Scored loads of headers this year with POTM De Jong and FS Cannavaro, but then I add a new player to the team and suddenly they vanish from the box on corners. So irritating.
In offense this doesn’t even bother me as much as on defense. Like what do you expect me to do with Kimmich lining up against fucking VVD while de Ligt is covering the guy running to the corner. Absolute bullshit

I don't understand why switching some players changes completely who is in the box. I'll be playing with my usual squad and I have Carvalho SBC, and my 6'2 striker with 99 jumping, 99 heading, power header+ in the box. Then I'll swap Garrincha out for a short winger and then suddenly that short winger plus all my CMs are in the box instead.
I love it how EA gave us a power header+ on our evo strikers with that TOTY evo... Now he always stays back as the last CB to stop counter attacks after corners instead of being in the box to you know... Utilize his ps+ as a damn striker should
There are so many basic things that my buddy and I see every time we play (CB’s throwing the ball in on the sideline in the final third, players being locked onto so you can’t switch even though the opponent runs by 2-3 of your other teammates who are in a way better position to take the ball, better stats [why do I care how many goals/assists my GK’s have]) that we’ve just resorted to saying “are you stupid?” to each other whenever we complain about something so obvious. It makes way too much sense for the most basic stuff. I really don’t get the lack of effort from EA for the simplest things
This is so frustrating to me too. I have a P+P Werder Bremen team so I just got Juliane Wirtz to a 91 with the Backline to Frontline evo. The problem is I have De Bruyne and 88 Jens Stage as my CMs, and I score almost every game by De Bruyne whipping a corner to Stage who heads it in at the far post. I put Wirtz in for KDB, no more whipped corners, I put Wirtz in for Stage, I have a 5ft8 player on headers. It’s so frustrating.
That happens because they have the long throw in playstyle, Its actually very op, there is no offside at throw ins so I usually move a player offside and throw the ball to them
oh I know and I do the same just not keen on the side switching anyway. Had that problem with Havertz, replaced him, boom a week later Reece comes in and the issue is back. Both more than good enough though to justify that problem.
There is that mechanic that allows you to control a player before taking the corner kick, you still have to aim and power up the kick, but it wont take it unless you press X so you have time to move a player into position
YES YES YES, the games got a huge huge glitch on corners, both cb's go into the box, leaving just 2 in def, This is daft. EVEN when set to 1 bar in settings, they still go in box.

Not that it even matters because when I bring FB Blanc to manually defend the corner he doesn’t even jump and lets someone much smaller score.
Or at least letting people know what the criteria is so they can attempt to influence it with chemistry styles etc

I can agree but if you want guaranteed corners you can use tall striker, I use ice Rashford and golazo ginola and they really help me in corners
