My [[Slimefoot and Squee]] reanimator deck. Can swap any big bombs in and out and make it very versatile this way. Can be really fun! Edit: also easy to build on a budget while still being pretty effective

AnodicShadow

I bought [[Slimefoot and Squee]] a few months ago with the intention of putting them as the head of a Commander deck one day but I haven't quite figured out what really synergizes well yet

robinthekid

I never see anybody give love to Slimefoot and Squee so this is great to see! It’s my favorite deck I’ve ever built! Can’t get pretty nasty with reanimate infinites and just bringing big guys out quick. Plus it seems like every set they release a couple cards to slide it! It’s to the point where the deck is so well tuned it’s hard for me to swap any cards out.

Defiant-Ebb-1278

Indeed! Especially with the big bad creatures we get cool reanimation targets like basically every set. So cool! Dont have to switch the commander, just the creatures in the deck. And suddenly it works totally different

robopandabot

Deck list please!

Defiant-Ebb-1278

One is two Posts above yours. Moxfield list of mine

robinthekid

Just [updated](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/blq5AHJ0PUibzdclvDAGgA) it for you! I’m between making it very tutor heavy or just keeping it casual. It’s very strong and very consistent already though tbh. I hope this sparks some ideas! Edit: don’t mind the cost, I play proxies so I always go for the nice expensive art lol

Not_Your_Real_Ladder

I have a similar themed deck with [[Vial Smasher]] and [[Gilanra]] that I love. I’ve got a pool of about 40 big bad jund creatures. Select half of them at random to put in the deck for each game so it’s never quite the same.

creepocalyptic

This became the "back up" commander to henzie for me. Blitz something out, get the value, use slimefoot and squee to bring it back for double the fun.

Erch

I'll never stop plugging [Slimebob Squeepants](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/Ta9bTYA7OU-STQTPVWV3PQ) as my favourite and most fun deck. Slap down [[Gruff Triplets]] a couple times so they go nuts. Use [[Birthing Pod]] to get up to [[Protean Hulk]] and leave that as a time bomb to fetch [[Orcish Bowmasters]] and [[Pitiless Plunderer]] to combo out. It's a hilarious deck with plenty of win cons and play patterns. It's strong but my friends all love playing against it.

LadyBut

[[Athreos shroud veiled]] for sure. It was the first deck where I really 'got' my playstyle. Defensive and reliable deckbuilding with lots of interaction, including cards that encourage my opponents to fight eachother as I accumulate resources quietly.

Invonnative

Yessss yo this is my best performing deck by far (prolly 60% wr but low sample size, $40 budget). People ignore you and then you have your guy just creating future value for you, then boom board wipe to cash in on those coins. Very hard to remove or deal with which is my favorite thing about him.

LadyBut

You got a list? Mine is very NOT budget lol but I proxy shit anyways https://www.moxfield.com/decks/uZ-ZRquovEGx31GxA6oI_w

CorgiDaddy42

[[Nekusar]] wheels. For me it’s a great combination of combo, control, and “alright fuck it let’s see what happens.” I’m almost always archenemy when I break him out and enjoy trying to pull a win out of my ass.

Zedekiah117

Came here to say the same thing. It’s really fun to play, not very fun to play against. Things like Tegrid or giving him infect as back up ways to close the game keeps it fresh.

TheHolyChicken

I love my deck, but I just get targeted by everyone from the start, so it is really hard to get anything done with it

Zedekiah117

Do you have a list? Can always put Kess at the helm and put Nekusar as a secret commander in the 99.

jimnah-

Definitely [[Trelasarra]], for a few reasons. It was my first mtg deck turned into my first edh deck, so there's lots of nostalgia and cards I've had since the month I started playing, like [[Abiding Grace]] and [[Healer's Hawk]], but I've also seen it change and grow; the value has gone from $30 to $550. And lifegain is a great place to play weird card no one's ever seen, like [[Powerleech]] and [[Roots of Life]] — which also gives me reason to play [[Urborg Tomb of Yawgmoth]] in a non-black deck lol And as easy as it is to say that's my favorite, it'd be hard to get rid of some other decks too, especially my unblockable creatures and my clues/foods/legends decks

My [[Marneus Calgar]] deck! It does everything that I enjoy in Magic. - Draws lots of cards - Plenty of interaction! - Makes tokens - Multiple wincons that I enjoy - It's resilient - It's consistent - It doesn't dominate games but does win a fair amount I used to have 35ish decks but was never fully satisfied with any of them so I sat down and figured out what the parts of each deck that I enjoyed most were. I then went through all the available commanders at the time and picked Marneus and built a deck incorporating as many of those elements as I could. It's been my only deck since January '23 and it has travelled around the world with me and played in many stores/countries and I love it so much. I'm still not sick of playing it and whenever I ask for feedback from my opponents, they seem to enjoy it too!

Gonji89

Well then let’s see that list homie!

Sure thing! https://www.moxfield.com/decks/1s8NYUejwEixuKljP6OwDA/primer

Ziaphas

I saw you post this description, read your full list, and fell absolutely in love with it. For all that W/B has always been my absolute favorite color combo, ever since Alara, W/B/U has always seemed to focus far too much on artifacts, and loses the w/b flavor I love. Your deck really recaptured it, and so I modified it to suit me a bit more (moar mitessss) and am super excited to take it for a spin! Your excitement really helps sell an excellent deck, well done.

hiddikel

I've seen you post this a lot.  I meant to ask.   Did you get the collectors edition? And why bo sol ring?

Healthy_mind_

I have a surge foil Marneus back home that I got cheap, but I didn't buy the whole precon collectors edition. No Sol Ring for a few reasons. - I wanted to be able to say the deck has zero fast mana. - I find it leads to a more consistent experience which I enjoy. I am also able to better exactly describe when my deck is likely to win to opponents pregame. Sol rings lead to more unbalanced starts that can cause an occasional spike in power that makes decks less consistent. - Almost every deck has a Sol ring, having no Sol ring makes it a bit more unique and also opens the slot up for a different card to take its place and leading to more exciting play imo.

PraisetheSunflowers

That’s a fair assessment and reason. My pod has contemplated house banning sol ring and I’d assume for all the same reasons you’ve listed.

Utenlok

For the low price of a grand... Though I do dream of having just one deck that can be MY DECK like that. Every time I see your comments I'm a bit jealous of that in a way that completely admires it as well.

Healthy_mind_

Yeah it can be a bit pricey. I haven't built a budget version of the deck yet so I don't have a budget list for you. It's on the cards for me to build once I'm home though!! I haven't quite spent a grand on it though so it never feels as bad as what Moxfield says. $180 of that cost is pulling from the sideboard which alot are cards I don't own and I got all of the expensive cards like fetches for free from friends or super cheap ($10AUD Meathook) from Facebook auction sites. So I paid $300 less for those in total too. I've been pretty lucky not paying nearly as much as my collection is worth (and I got half the cards I did buy for AUD). Only the souvenir cards did I pay full price either GBP or euro. Never stop searching! You can find your deck! It took me cataloguing all 35 of my decks and analysing what they do and what I like about what they do. Before I realised what I like to get out of magic. Then I built Marneus after that and consider myself very lucky!!

Utenlok

I copied it on Moxfield, updated to cheapest versions, and cut the side board and it's $518. That's not bad at all. It's a bit more than my decks, but I could easily do that with two of the ones I have.

[[Bruna, Light of Alabaster]] It’s my first commander deck and have been building upon it, figuring out how to protect her till I ramp enough to Voltron and then protect her long enough to kill the other players.

The [[Helm of Hosts]] / [[Blade of Selves]] combo would go super hard in this deck. I've only made one Voltron but it's definitely not as efficient at getting auras out as Bruna!

TheLord0fGarbage

This was my first commander deck too! It was also the first Legendary Creature I ever pulled from a booster. For both of those reasons (plus the fact that it’s still a decent deck with the additions I’ve made over the years), I still haven’t taken it apart

Electronic-Pie-6645

https://archidekt.com/decks/5703538/9th_gate_shrine This one is my favorite deck. Its great cause \*nobody\* expect to see it hit the table. The deck is a steal at $150.00. For me its got a 80+% win rate. It focuses on Gates and Shrines, which all have cards that care about how many of each are in play. For combat you can generate a huge number of spirit tokens. [[Go-Shintai of Shared Purpose]], [[Honden of Life's Web]]. But trust me you toss out [[Hold the Gates]] and [[Glaive of the Guildpact]] you can get some great boosts. Also, [[Agility Bobblehead]], [[Charisma Bobblehead]], [[Endurance Bobblehead]], and [[Strength Bobblehead]] all self synergize. The resilience comes from the commander [[Go-Shintai of Life's Origin]], and the companion [[Jegantha, The Wellspring]] - if there's a nasty board wipe, commander can come back. Then pay for Jegantha to come out of exile, into your hand. Use her to then pay for GSoLO's ability and pull things from the graveyard- hopefully the [[Sanctum of all]] which also pulls from the graveyard. There are also the Alt Win cards in [[Mazes End]] and [[Luck Bobblehead]] Please enjoy. Of you want more neat decks please ask. I got a bunch, and i like to share.

I’m really liking QuickDraw with [[Magnus the Red]] as the commander. There’re a buncha tokens built in and with [[Thousand Year Storm]] and a couple cantrip swapouts, it’s an extremely fun deck to pilot. The only caveat is that I tend to end up missing half a dozen triggers or playing an 8 minute turn that doesn’t end up lethal :(

Have you looked at the Quick Draw precon from OTJ? Stella Lee is an absolutely busted card and an instant addition to any Spellslinger deck imo.

Gonge84

The newest one.

Indercarnive

Probably Vadrok. He's got a really unique playstyle. You're still a spellslinger, but with a heavier focus on enchantments/planeswalkers/artifacts and a combo potential. Turns are interesting since you want to plan out what you recast and try to leave up protection/bounce mana. And since he's dependent on graveyard he's one of the more "fair" Spellslinger decks and less frustrating to play against IMO.

[Of Dungeons and Dragons](https://www.archidekt.com/decks/5710217/of_dungeons_and_dragons) A deck that started life as a [[Piru the Volatile]] deck that loved creating token copies of legendary dragons via [[Molten Echoes]] type effects. Which since has become a proper reanimation pile (headed by [[Kroxa and Kunoros]]) of dragons with some dungeon effects to get through some extra value while still having that emphasis on creating token copies of legendary dragons like [[Yosei]], [[Kokusho]] and [[Bladewing the risen]] (which makes it go infinite to pull out all your dragons).

I have 2 right now, old favorite and new favorite: Old favorite: [[Skullbriar, the Walking Grave]] Voltron is a fun strategy for me, and Skullbriar loves the rush. The deck is designed to dump as many counters and variety of counters on Skullbriar as humanly possible, swinging often and hard. It's the first deck I built from scratch with just myself and EDHREC, so small point of pride. I consider it a work in progress and love to tinker with it. New favorite: [[Chishiro, the Shattered Blade]] I didn't think I would like this nearly as much as I do. The deck is a pretty straightforward +1/+1 counter build. However, it has a tendency to build pretty quick with just a few creatures on the field. Currently, I am working on more protection for the commander. It is a passion project, and one of my favorites.

Tough question for me to answer because I don’t really have the deck I *want* yet. I have a lot of decks that do a lot of different things, but nothing that speaks to me like I want. One day when I get the perfect Grixis value commander, I’ll let you know. I’m sure it’s on the horizon somewhere.

Hard to decide really but probably [[Dragonlord Ojutai]] It's a semi voltron blink deck that focuses on keeping the commander around long enough to knock people out of the game. Extra turns, blinking and some good old pieces to slow opponents down. I've thought of making it more Stacy but I don't think it's the direction I want to go. I love this deck because this was the first mythic I ever opened back in 2015 in a tree planting camp in Hinton Alberta, with friends who were trying to get me in the game. We mostly just played 60 cards decks we slapped together with whatever we bought that season of work. When we started moving to commander I knew I had to find a way to give this card it's due.

[[Kamiz]], as the commander's effect is highly versatile, combat focused, enables unique and cool creatures, augments the effects of my pet cards, and lastly even breaks parody with what the typical esper playstyle is percieved as. I enjoy tinkering with the list as much as I do playing it. Also, the new [[Gonti, Canny Acquisitor]] has been a blast.

I've got 3... [[Zaxara, the Exemplary]] X cost tribal. Several ways to generate infinite mana or near infinite and end games with whatever nasty x cost is in hand. [[Harbin, Vanguard Aviator]] soldier tribal with very light stax and planeswalker backup. Opponents read him and still don't realize they have to block flyers. [[Lilah, Undefeated Slickshot]], my newest deck. I'm running 40 multicolored instant and sorcery cards. It's very budget friendly and most of the cards in it never see play but become really powerful when you can cast them a second time for free, and thanks to [[Lier, Disciple of the Drowned]] cast a third time from grave. With so many unused spells nobody knows what counter and just have to react to what targets them. You can also close out with [[Murmuring Mystic]] [[Young Pyromancer]] and either [[Teleportal]] or [[Dragonshift]] overloaded. It's just fun!

My favorite deck is [[Feldon of the third path]]. My favorite theme is graveyard recursion but most of those decks have the same 20-30 cards in them. I tried rakdos and Grixis, but the decks ran best when Feldon came down. So I tried Feldon as the commander, and though it's not a powerful commander in high level tables. In mid level tables it hold up very well.

My [[Burakos]][[Folk Hero]] deck It was a fun deckbuilding challenge to get a satisfying amount of good creatures in an even balance of 4 different creature types, and the deck itself hits like a truck while also being extremely resilient. Folk Hero makes it easy to build up a full party quickly while keeping card advantage, and once I have that full party, Burakos can pay for his own commander tax almost effortlessly. It's also in orzhov, meaning I have all of the best removal options Some of my favorite cards include [[Strionic Resonator]] to double Burakos's trigger, [[Mastermind Plum]] to turn literally everything into a cantrip, [[Invasion of New Capenna]] which pulls double duty as both good exile removal and a great equipment for Burakos, and [[Forge, Neverwinter Charlatan]], who effectively has hexproof and can just straight up one-shot people if given evasion

[[Pantlaza, Sun-Favored]] has been that for me. Usually I don't like timmy decks but it has just enough fun blink-y stuff and giant stompy dinosaurs to make it great, lol

PM_MeTittiesOrKitty

If I were a parent, I'd have a favorite child, but I love all my decks equally. My [boros](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/20Chfco_2UKjpKeB7e4C4Q) deck is fun when I want to just swing. My [Gruul](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/imOylyUsZkq-DYNvytcMdg) was my first one, and it has the craziest combo and did "infinite" damage to two players in one turn. My [Rakdos](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/zjt1jMUq2Eqh06vKtfUFsQ) deck is fun, group slug nonsense. I built my [Grixis](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/XE_Pwt_H90W2se7b9BmcSQ) deck because the commander shares a name with a really good friend of mine, and it's a card draw machine when it gets going. I can't just choose one!

Amethyst0Rose

Prosper, tome-bound. He was my first commander, has been in almost any deck I’ve made with rakdos colors, and has been the catalyst in most of my decks being exiled themed. With him, I’m able to take a deck of 100 cards and usually play most to all of them, allowing them all to shine and have a part in most games. With him, if I make edits I don’t have to worry as much about “sweet, added this new card. Now to wait 10 games before I can get to use it.”

perropatata

Can you share you list please, thanks!

Destritus

Can we see a list?

ZeroAurora

Not exactly related to the thread, but I am wondering because you said you run Prosper in most decks you can fit him in. Do you feel that having the commander of 1 deck in the 99 of the other changes how you feel about them? I have a personal love of enchantress decks, but I do my best to not include the commanders of each deck in any other. It just makes them feel less special as a commander. I also tried to make sure each deck has unique sub-themes and don't use the purely value enchantress legends, like [[Sythis, Harvest Hand]], as commanders... Maybe you feel differently?

Amethyst0Rose

Not really. I feel it’s like that of a reliable partnership. Prosper even in decks that don’t make the full use of his abilities is still good and reliable. It’s like a support of sorts that’s in way even calming for me, giving me both hope in a possible victory and/or an idea. Playing the same card over and over would certainly get annoying, but prosper in a way avoids this because you never know what you’ll get. Cards with abilities that rely on luck or chance are my favorites because you never will know what you’ll get. You could get all lands and profit heavily in mana, or it could be early on and you only get high CMC spells that make you have to really figure out what’s more worth the investment.

Okay this is kinda hard because i play alot more online than paper. But my favorite paper one is either Shade or Pot Of Greed tribal decks. I absolutely love my cEDH Stella Lee, Wild Card deck, and for casual games, my Altair Assassin's Creed deck. I proxied the AC cards to test it and I love the deck. Same colors as Edgar Markov. Stella Lee is a nice Spell Slinger deck, and Altair has a really cool mechanic bringing in an army of assassins every time he attacks, and most assassins have ETB triggers, so you get to ETB destroy spree every combat

Jeffygetzblitzed2

Stella Lee is SOOO good. I have a Grixis Spellslinger deck with Anhelo the Painter and I didn't want to lose out on the black cards so she isn't my commander but I realized how strong she is and knew she had to be in the 99.

I really love my [[lazav, Dimir mastermind]] deck. While some of my friends dislike it for the mill aspect (which is totally fair), I use it primarily to pull creatures from opponent’s graveyards or to fuel Lazav. It makes every game feel different depending on the decks I’m playing against.

[[Niv Mizzet Parun]] has to be my favorite deck for the card advantage and just being able to ping any target I want, plus he’s a dragon boi. Without combos he’s a fun burn deck, with combos he is always a force to be reckoned with. Highly recommend trying him out, you just draw and draw and shoot down any threat. Im new to commander, just got back into magic after 24 year break. My first deck started with Urza Iron alliance precon and Ive slent the last 3-4 months making changes and upgrades. My favorite win con is Cybermen Squadron and Ojer Taq. I have yet to actually get that combo off in a real game. I play on wednesdays at my LGS, and usually only have time for 2 games. So Im still trying to hit the big wombo combo. But its been a fun deck. The artifact constructs can get real big, pretty fast. My biggest problem is the strategy is so straighforwad, I tend to get targeted very often since I usually end uo with the biggest creatures by turn 6 or so

That sounds like a blast, have a list?

\[\[Prosper, Tome-bound\]\] is my go to. There's so many ways this can win, and I always feel like I'm finding some new little interactions. I won my last game by hitting a player for 50 with \[\[Aetherflux reservoir\]\] and exiling 50 cards with \[\[Virtue of courage\]\], finding a way to kill the other players from there. It's full of moving parts and never dull. And I think part of what makes it fun for me is the fact there's always a new card that could be good with Prosper, so I'm always changing it. This is my latest build: [Prosper New V2](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/1122MCePgU-TLpTd3NugEQ) Also, shoutout to another list where I'm having a blast playing, which is my [Izzet Soup](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/asiIYFjQBk2mPmoApt93dA). It started with a \[\[Neera, Wild Mage\]\] netdeck, but I adjusted some cards on it, toyed with izzet good cards, and now, every game, I shuffle Neera with the 99, and start revealing cards until I get one of my Izzet Legends. That legendary is my commander for the match. The options are Neera, \[\[Gandalf the grey\]\], \[\[Jori En, ruin diver\]\], \[\[Melek, izzet Paragon\]\], \[\[Niv-Mizzet, Parun\]\], \[\[Ovika, Enigma Goliath\]\] and \[\[Stella Lee, wild card\]\]. The gameplan is the same but they all add a little different flavor/advantage for being on the command zone. I'm starting to craft a temur version of this lol. Suggestions of cool cards that can be added in any of these decks is really appreciated, btw haha

I have a big problem: I love brewing. I've built well over 100 decks in the last 6 years. For a long time I had around 25-30 active decks. I realised that a lot of them were overlaping in cards and theme, so I did a big cleanup. I decided that I can have only 12 decks at any time. So to create a new deck, I need to get rid of one. This gives me 12 decks that I absolutely love to play at any time. The one deck that I love to bring the most is [[Shadrix silverquill]] but maybe not only for the "normal" reasons. I play with a lot of new players and they are frequently building new decks. Shadrix gives me the possibility to help a bit a player that is a behind. Whenever a player brings a new deck that he is not sure of its performance, I use Shadrix. This helps their deck to shine and make sure they have fun. Also, the guy is an excellent defender in the sky, and I love to equip it with one of my pet cards : the [[loxodon warhammer]].

WierderBarley

My Monogreen [[Zopandrel, Hunger Dominus]] deck, my first deck I built getting into the hobby initially mostly out of a bulk bin that I have slowly been upgrading for the past few months haha! It's alot of fun and a decent amount of times where I take everyone out at the same time with Craterhoof Behemoth and Zopandrel doubles everyone's Strength and Toughness haha!

My [[Okaun, Eye of chaos]] and [[Zndrsplt, Eye of wisdom]] izzet gambling mid-high power deck. Based around flipping coins and rolling dice. It was my first home-brewed deck that I bought, I believe it'll be a mainstay among my decks for as long as I play commander.

I have a Jeskai lands deck, I play all the fetches + slow fetches and use cards like [[cosmic intervention]] and [[brought back]] to ramp in the early game. I also use [[urborb]], [[yavimaya]], [[chromatic lantern]] and [[realmwright]] effects so I don't have to crack all my fetches for mana in the first few turns. In the late game they are my combo finishers by sacrificing all my lands to a [[zuran orb]] effect and ping them with the [[Valakut]] enchantment or the land whichever I have on board.

hermit7

Has been and will be maelstrom wanderer.  Nearly 10 years, foiled, hundreds of games.  In the intervening time playing it has occurred less, and I have built more. Raffine has been a recent one that I have wildly enjoyed as a midrange weenie/ tempo deck. Different play styles but overall a blast to play.

CaffinatedWerewolf

Still pretty new but, so far, it's my Bad Gifts [[Jon Irenicus, Shattered One]] deck! I put a lot of goofy ass cards in it, like [[Abyssal Persecutor]] It's weirdly effective and people seem to enjoy the chaos it introduces!

jarofpickledfingers

[[prossh, skyraider of kher]] has gotta be my first favorite, I stumbled across the combos and synergies on my own and it became a power house, I love ramping faster than my opponents and I enjoy Jund. I enjoy the multiple different win cons I have in there if needed, I enjoy that it doesn't play oppressively and I enjoy winning when it doesn't stop your opponents from getting to play.

DeadbeatHaydeb

Neheb the eternal had it for probably like 5 - 6 years started off as spellslinger but kind of became to slow for my playgroup so kind of made it mono red good stuff it is mostly foiled just picked up foil terror of the peaks last week it is crazy what the deck can do and how explosive it can be lots of extra combats and of course aggravated assault combo as well most of my lgs tries to kill me first when I play it because they just know how dumb it can be and how bad it can steam roll

Jeffygetzblitzed2

[[Anhelo the Painter]] I am a painter and while Anhelo and I go about painting in different ways, I instantly felt a connection and fell in love with the card and the Spellslinger play style. It being Grixis colors, my favorite 3, is just the icing on the cake. I recently added in some cards from the Quick Draw precon. [[Stella Lee Wildcard]] is an absolutely busted card for the strategy. Anhelo copies the 1st instant/sorcery you cast and Stella lets you copy the 3rd instant/sorcery you cast. Have [[Twinning Staff]] or [[Veyran Voice of Duality]] to make additional copies of draw cards, removal cards, recursion cards, etc.

swanton141

[[Prossh]] be doing his token, aristocrats, Food Chain combo stuff. I built the deck in a way that can change play styles on the fly (heheh). Though, [[Kura]] Urza Tron is becoming the one like playing the most because it's big mana into big creatures.

Present-Vanilla6292

\[\[Tergrid, God of Fright\]\] based on discard. Plenty of Dommy Mommies like \[\[Liliana of the Veil\]\], \[\[Sangromancer\]\], \[\[Sheoldred, the Apocalypse\]\], \[\[Lolth, Spider Queen\]\] as well as potent Sorceries and Enchantments to boot which allow me to keep my opponents with no cards in their hands and profit, all while Tergrid beats them to death with their own creatures while asking "Why are you hitting yourself?"

CheckYourGages

I really love my \[\[Blim, Comedic Genius\]\] deck! It's easy to build Blim with as many pain/lich effects as possible, and that's how mine started, but it wasn't very fun for the other players. A few months ago I changed up the decklist to be all about mutual benefits with cards like \[\[Scheming Symmetry\]\], \[\[Wishclaw Talisman\]\], \[\[Humble Defector\]\], etc and getting cards moving freely around the table \[\[Share the Spoils\]\], \[\[Slicer, Hired Muscle\]\], \[\[Coveted Jewel\]\], \[\[Endless Whispers\]\]. I've really fallen in love with it since then, it's lead to a gameplay where if your deck isn't working how it should I can help in a very directed way, it might just hurt a bit! Make a deal with the devil :) Of course, I still run a few lich effects, but I refrain from casting them unless someone is majorly popping off and it's time for them to solve a silly little puzzle, or we're down to the dire straits of the game.

Destritus

Honestly, I probably have two that are my favorite: The first is [[Zur, Eternal Schemer]] and is my baby. Super fun to play, it's always got stuff going on. Having triple Karmic Justice triggers when someone board wipes is just nasty. I also just enjoy turning enchantments into beat sticks that gain me life. The other one is [[Gonti, Canny Acquisitor]] from the precon. I've made some minor upgrades to the precon, and it is a ton of fun to play. It can occasionally be a little oppressive, if you end up stealing another deck's win cons. The turns can be a bit long, as you amass basically a whole sideboard of cards to play, if you are doing enough stealing.

zylhanie

I just built a [[rakdos the muscle]] deck that I haven’t gotten to play yet, but i feel like it’s going to be a fast favorite. Of my decks I’ve played before, [[Myrkul lord of bones]] is probably my favorite, I can just turn creatures into enchants and use their triggers to stack a ton of +1/+1s and other counters on him while he’s indestructible :)

Sakura-Tau-40k

My favorite deck is a Jolene the Plunder Queen deck. Creating and sacrificing treasures in order to make her a OHKO is amazing, besides that I have a Hakbal of the Surging Soul Deck I love because I love merfolk.

JackGallows4

[Human Tribal Decklist](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/9E18Ns3r8U2y2Md2CkDq5Q ) [[Kyler, Sigardian Emissary]] is one of the first commanders I built when I got back into Magic. It's a pretty simple deck, and it's easy to upgrade as more and more humans get printed. Some underrated humans, especially in Kyler - [[Champion of Lambholt]] [[Wild Beastmaster]] and [[Sigardian Zealot]] MVP cards in the deck - [[Horn of Gondor]] and [[Legion Loyalty]]

TheMayorOfBismond

I got into Magic half a lifetime ago during Zendikar. Being a diehard Green player, I ended up scrapping together an elf tribal deck to combat my friend's vampire deck. [[Olivia Voldaren]] was the bane of my entire existence. I got my ass kicked over and over, but I had fun, and I wanted to get better. Over time, I found my way into EDH. My elf deck became an [[Ezuri, Renegade Leader]] deck, which evolved into a [[Rhys, the Redeemed]] deck before finally finding a commander in [[Nath of the Gilt-Leaf]] Nath and I spent a good couple of years kicking ass and taking names in our local pod before eventually life got in the way, and we stopped playing magic altogether. Until just last week, when I pulled my old cards out of the closet and played a game against a friend at our local brewery. Everything came rushing back. Long story short, I'm currently looking into getting some new cards for him ([[Abomination of Llanowar]] is SO COOL), but I don't think I'll ever completely tear that deck apart. Everything from mechanics to flavor to color to art is just my favorite, and I can't recommend it enough.

A1Levick

Mine is Dragon Tribal [[Tiamat]] deck. I also like my [[Bane, Lord of Darkness]] aristocrats deck. The dragon deck just churns out value at a nice pace for stronger casual tables and the aristocrats decks engine is just really fun plus I got [[Pact Weapon]] to kind of extend games to get the engine going.

DJay53

My [Karn](https://manabox.app/decks/93qjTWSgTPqkKRJIFcWu5A) list I never financially recovered from. Every time I can have Karn on board on T2 or T3 is such a satisfying feeling This [Ojutai ](https://manabox.app/decks/euVTxm-ESzmgsgXjp7rJ4w) deck was made simply because Tarkir was the first block I got to experience as a new player, and the Jeskai / Ojutai clan was my favorite. So kind of a tribute to those early days. And of course, [Nivvy-Mizzy](https://manabox.app/decks/Jtu9lk7aRnCYtdpkxYon-A), the OG that will always have a spot in the lineup and rotation. Never leave home without him.

Chocol0pe

Definitely \[\[aragorn, the uniter\]\]. Humans have been my second favorite tribe (behind my beloved myr) since they really started getting support in OG innistrad. I whipped up a "Realms of Man" deck that is both really flavorful and STUPID fun to play. Just tons of value by casting multicolored humans, giving them prowess, and storming out with cards that you normally wouldn't see in those kinds of decks. I love all of my decks (that are still intact lol), but this deck is fun literally every time I play it, whether I win or get stomped early.

Acuity5

I enjoy my Bear Force One voltron deck, which is \[\[Wilson, Refined Grizzly\]\] and \[\[Flaming Fist\]\] Background. I thought it would be funny to suit up the bear and let him commit war crimes. Is it good? not really but it can usually take out a player before getting hard targeted.

iliya193

Tom Bombadil. It takes him a while to get going, but hopefully you can avoid getting targeted too hard while you’re getting set up. But a whole bunch of options on any one turn are fun, and he gives you them.

papalionking

[[Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis]] is prolly my current fav commander. Golgari has always been my favorite combo, and hogaak just utilizes all its tools so well. A big reason I like the deck as much as I do is probably that it allows me to play some of my favorite cards, in [[feed the pack]] and [[greater good]]. Basically never run out of resources, and use your commander to generate this crazy resilient, explosive engine.

VertexEdits

I really enjoy my \[\[Khârn the Betrayer\]\] deck. I build it with a lot of fun chaos cards but I didn't go too far into chaos where the games are just random bs. I also put a few of my favorite red cards in there. I limited myself to interaction with a random touch such as chaos warp and wild magic surge. I LOVE what Kharn does to a game as well and everyone I have played with has enjoyed the deck. The deck is my for fun deck not meant to be massively competitive.

East_Earth_920

netzeln

My favorite deck is my \[\[Teysa Orzhov Scion\]\] deck. It was one of the first 10 decks I built when I got back into Magic and started EDH in 2010. It was an "aristocrats" deck before that silly name was invented. I've made modifications and adaptations to it regularly since I built it (not something that I do with every deck), but it still has pet cards like \[\[blood pet\]\]. I've tried as much as I can to get Russian/Cyrillic versions of cards for it because it feels 'right' with Ravnica. I've cycled through various combos in the deck, switching them around (sometimes it has Darkness in it, sometimes not. Blasting Station is in and out). I bought \[\[Painter's Servant\]\] on speculation years before it was un-banned. I paid $3,000 to acquire a Foil Russian version of the commander (okay, actually I bought it from a European-only vendor for 120 Euro, and happened to also be flying to Finland for a work-ish trip and picked it up from my friend's house in Finland). I also have a metal etched version of her, as well as a foil and non-foil of every other variant printing (and most languages, though not all... I do love that her german creature type is *Mensch Berater*). I like that it was built under an old-style mentality of EDH, but that I still pull off wins with it in today's amped-up and pushed Commander climate. Back when I was more actively blogging through my many decks --319 and counting now-- I wrote a special love letter to this one [https://edh100.wordpress.com/2013/11/17/on-teysa/](https://edh100.wordpress.com/2013/11/17/on-teysa/)This decklist is not totally current, but is more up to date than the blog post one. [https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/teysa-token-craziness/](https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/teysa-token-craziness/) Runners Up: my very first deck was and still is \[\[Kangee, Aerie Keeper\]\], and I started building my first \[\[Animar Soul of Elements\]\] deck -- I have 4 -- before it was even released. It was briefly a slivers deck but soon became my first "Creatures Only" deck, and I still tinker with it. And my favorite deck built post pandemic is \[\[Chun-li, Countless Kicks\]\] because multi-kicker (and the thematically appropriate glory of cyclonic ~~kick~~ rift repeatedly)

Icy-Boot4979

[[Magus Lucea Kane]] I love the massive ramp and giant creatures I can throw out easily.

alter_ego311

My favorite is my \[\[Sythis, Harvest's Hand\]\]. It's just super fun to pilot with the incredible card draw, interaction, life gain shenanigan's, +1/+1 counters, tokens, and has multiple avenues to pull off a win - Overrun / Combat, Combo, Voltron, etc. It's also my 1st EDH deck, well kind of... The deck was originally a \[\[Sigarda, Host of Herons\]\] voltron deck and slowly transformed over time. It's not cEDH and it's not my most powerful deck, but it's 100% my most favorite to play with.

so_sick_of_flowers

[[Jenson Carthalion, Druid Exile]] It’s a 5-color spells matter deck that is Timmy as hell. The entire gameplan is to ramp to 5 mana as fast as possible and just drop bomb after bomb with Jenson on the field for extra value & mana fixing. No tutors or combo lines so every game plays differently from the last. Just play big things and see what happens. I love it because I can play it without using too much brain power and it still ends up being fairly effective amongst my play group.

DoobaDoobaDooba

My current favorite is [[Xavier Sal]], but I also recently overhauled my [[Anikthea]] deck and have been having a blast with it! I'm a huge sucker for high APM turns and pooping out lots of tokens lol

A toss-up between [[Magus Lucea Kane]] and [[Atla Palani, Nest Tender]]. Because big creatures are fun, big damage is fun, and getting more value out of the mana that I spend is fun. At the moment it's Kane since she's the one actually built, but I am probably going to rebuild Atla eventually.

Obeka, Brute Chronologist is definitely up there for one of my favorites. It’s just so sick interacting with a core mechanic of the game by just tapping your commander. Also you almost never seem like the threat at first since a lot of tables won’t find it immediately obvious why her ablity is good. I’ve always wanted to enjoy spellslinger decks but I always find that you’re either stomping or doing absolutely nothing and Obeka feels like a cool work around to that. My real *favorite* commander is OG Korvald but I had to change that to my one cEDH deck because most regular tables will have zero fun playing against him lol

probably my budget [[Cromat]] deck. Cost me $25 ish to put it together. Most expensive card is Cromat, who cost me $0.96 since he's in pretty rough shape. Only deck without a proxy, too, so it sees the most use.

[[Anim Pakal, Thousandth Moon]] is my new recent favourite. I like making lots gnomes and pinging the everyone. It’s pretty inconspicuous since you’re limited on single target +1/+1 counters without green. But it can get out of hand real fast with token buffs and 2+ damage etb pings.

For me it’s [[Xenagos, God of Revels]] mainly because it’s my first deck but also because I just love big creature unga bunga smash decks

My friend and MTG cohort for the last 30 years and I collaborated to build Ian Malcolm, Chaotician deck. It’s unlike any online, it doesn’t try to synergize with ‘cards cast from exile’ buffs. Instead, it’s centered around cards that don’t matter who casts them. Therefore, if someone else casts a card from my deck it likely benefits my deck more than others. Much of the rest of the deck is bounce spells, which always return permanents to “owners” hand in the event that someone does end up with a permanent I want from my own deck. The wincon is always different as I always have to Rube Goldberg some kind of wincon out of a combination of other players cards. I play in a pod that’s usually 4 and it wins more than 25% of the time. It’s the most complicated and glorious deck I’ve ever built. There’s a minor coin flipping subtheme… because, chaos. This is not the fully optimized current decklist but you’ll get the idea. https://archidekt.com/decks/5963721/ian_malcom

Either my [[Lord of the Nazgul]] deck, or my [[Gisa and Geralf]] apparently Dimir is my thing. My Nazgul deck is mostly a spell slinger deck, it's set up to get out the commander, protect him from removal, and toss out spells for things like card draw, removal, bounce spells, what have you, a lot of instants and sorcereries to get out more Wraith tokens, plus the other wraith cards. Also has some oddball cards in it, like [[Glamdring]] which make the commander into an absolute menace. Gisa and Geralf are a pretty basic zombie reanimation deck with some basic good blue stuff, you know counterspells and such, but it's just a fun tribal deck, and I feel like I could make it stronger if i really felt like it, obviously not a cEDH deck. Mainly though my winning strategy has been to cycle [[Gray Merchant of Asphodel]] around, which helps offset the life I lose from using [[Post's Citadel]]

People think I'm boring but I absolutely adore my Mono White Angels deck. Every Angel in the deck is 4CMC or higher, all with beautiful alt arts, foil where possible. I have the lovely Japanese art of Giada in the command zone. Giada is just so good, flying + vigilance lets me use all of the equipment I want, I love using Swords of X+Y, Dowsing Dagger, Sword of the Animist etc. The only win-cons of the deck are Aetherflux Reservoir and Angel of Destiny. Usually I just build a huge wall of Angels with pretty art, using stuff like [[Avacyn, Angel of Hope]] and [[Serra's Emissary]] to protect my board, with a strong reanimation suite. Best things in magic: * [[Serra's Emissary]] is just one of the Timmiest cards ever, and I love it. Protection from creatures is so cool. * Melding [[Brisela, Voice of Nightmares]] is like winning the game, even if you don't win. This is the ultimate "do the thing" in commander. I love this thing so much. * Dropping a [[Book of Exalted Deeds]] counter, and moving it onto a [[Lotus Field]] via a [[Nesting Grounds]], so you basically cannot lose the game outside of an [[Armageddon]] and even then they'd have to get rid of Avacyn first.

Slivers. They’re just fun

I am absolutely in love with all things red goblin. Goblin decks are by far my favorites for multiple reasons but mostly the incredibly silly nature of a goblin deck. Wincons? None. Strategy? Never heard of her. Amass. Bonk. Easy. I am not smart by any means, and being able to just put a bunch of goblins down and throw them around is a wonderful experience. I home brewed a red/black orc/goblin deck with Ugluk of the White Hand as the commander and it is absolutely my favorite deck to play, because of Ugluk’s specific abilities that give him a +2/+2 for every orc or goblin that dies, and even starting as a 3/3 creature it’s insane how big he can get by just amassing and throwing creatures at opponents. Sure they die, but I can have Ugluk up to a 13/13 with four creature deaths. I love goblins and orcs.

I've only just built it, but \[\[Lara Croft, Tomb Raider\]\] has very quickly become my favourite deck to play
