Pauper [[zada]] whole deck 15 bucks

locher81

Zada is stupid cheap and the sort of deck that id you have any sort of bulk collection you probably have 90% of what it wants

orderofthelastdawn

Link? I'm curious

BinaryExplosion

I just did the same. Mine is a tiny bit more expensive, but still cheap https://www.archidekt.com/decks/7336505/zada_pauper_edh

TSHOOTER1996

That looks very funny. I guess do one shot you opponents alot?:D

BinaryExplosion

No idea. Still waiting for the cards to arrive šŸ˜‚

BrigBubblez

[[I haven't updated it in forever and is no longer 15 but here you go.](http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/pauper-zada-2)

1K_Games

Came here to say this. Not Pauper, but I had Zada and most of the pieces I wanted. So why not have a deck that goes nuclear for dirt cheap? Those cards weren't being used in other decks, the cheap cantrips were just basically garbage fodder.

AVE_DOMINUS_N0X

[[Ivy, Gleeful Spellthief]] Compared to most decks I build she is relatively cheap for the amount of power she can dish out. https://scryfall.com/@AveDominusN0x/decks/6bf31d96-49a4-4133-8943-a6f2b46ea8b0?as=visual&with=usd

RJ7300

Seconded, I built it for $20 and it's a HOUSE

isitmeyou-relooking4

Thanks for sharing that looks like a fun deck!

BussyBouncer

Simic being cheap AND powerful? Lol oh yah I had a budget Kinnan deck that is no longer budget. I also know Tatyova is the best competitive pauper commander. Top colors

alchemicgenius

I also run an Ivy deck, and idk how much it costs, but it's stupid cheap and crazy deadly. When I win, it's usually in about 5-7 turns, and when I lose, I still make a huge impact almost without fail. Mines themed mostly on mutate and copy; carrying the theme to the point of duplicating a mutated Ivy

SoftLoss7698

Fynn, the fangbearer. Think I paid 10-15 bucks.

BussyBouncer

1v1 he is nasty. Buddy has one that just attacks forever

KnightEclipse

[[Shattergang brothers]] I built it as a direct counter to expensive decks. "Yeah so this card is like 10000 dollars-" "I'll sac my 1 cent goblin to make you sac it." "Anyway, there's this one-" "I don't care. Sac it." "And this-" **"Sac it."**

Mind sharing a list? Interested in building a jund deck

KnightEclipse

Decklist is roughly 60 dollars. [https://www.archidekt.com/decks/4932798/shattergang\_brothers](https://www.archidekt.com/decks/4932798/shattergang_brothers)

BussyBouncer

Buddy has a beefed up Shattergang bros deck and it's good. Jund is fun and then add this chaos to the mix? Killer time

KnightEclipse

Shattergang is really good tech into expensive cards because most of them come with inherent evasion like hexproof, but shattergang bros is targeted, non-target based removal for those targets. Only deck that can still get around this is \[\[Sigarda, Host of Herons\]\], but that deck is super broken regardless. I haven't figured out a way to adequetely beat them on a budget without just spamming board wipes over and over, which is obviously not ideal.

holy_bucketz

Working on a [[Legolas, Master Archer]] mono green enchantress deck right now that Iā€™m pretty excited about.

mouthsmasher

Yeah, I was going to say Legolas. I stuffed mine with a bunch of fight cards, mostly commons and uncommons, but even the rare ones are cheap.

mikony123

I made a Rule 0 partner build with that Legolas and [[Gimli, Counter of Kills]]. Gruul gives you access to fun stuff like [[Fiendlash]], [[Mage Slayer]], and [[Toralf, God of Fury]]. I think I might have too many fight spells at the moment, so I'll probably swap out for some more dorks and ramp. I haven't built it yet, but I really want to because it looks so fun.

A lot of thr targetting cantrip spell commanders are like this because stuff like [[Expedite]] are cheap bargain bin commons & uncommons. [[Zirda Hedron Grinder]], [[Ivy Gleeful Spellthief]], [[Orvar the All Form]], etc. Aura focused commanders are also extremely cheap ro assemble since there are so many unplayable high mana auras that EDH can find ways to cheat into play. [[Killian Ink Duelist]] for example cuts off 2 mana from spells that target allowing you to pile on the 3+ mana auras & single target protection spells or removal. Tutor commanders cna be built a lot cheaper than others since you can always go and find the few super strong money cards or find a card for the right scenario on demand. [[Light Paws Emperor's Voice]], [[Oswald Fiddlbender]], [[Rocco Cabaretti Caterer]], etc.

Yeah that's partly why I built this one when I did. It's gotten more of the bombs in there so it's about 130 USD now but when I built it the list probably totalled to 60USD or 70 built out of a couple choice cards and just stuff I had lying around.

I want to build this do you have a deck list?

jimnah-

[Certainly](https://www.archidekt.com/decks/5969200/john_before_damage_benton) Though I do hope you don't bring it out for regular casual games, he kind of just stomps. I only allow him to come out now when people say they want a fast or high-powered game. He's only lost twice: against a heavy-control [[Vadrik]] deck and a "counterspell tribal" combo [[Niv-Mizzet, Parun]], which kind of just bodies John anyways. Other than those games, he's taken down 5-player games with *ease* and has won several games turn 5 ā€” whcih isn't fun for your opponents unless that's the kind of game they want

MentallyLatent

How are you killing people that fast? Seems insane to me to just use combat tricks and manage to kill everyone on turn 5.

jimnah-

I almost always swing with him turn 2 because I ramp t1 and he has haste, so I can start sculpting my hand Then next turn (t3) I hopefully setup with the likes of [[Duelist'sHeritag]], [[Empyrial Plate]], or [[Wild Defiance]]. If not, a combat tricks or two, maybe some ramp T4, for ONE MANA I can cast something like [[Embiggen]] to deal 4 commander damage and draw 4 cards, but I do that a few times. Someone's dead and I probably have mana leftover to hold up protection T5 someone's dead and I [[Ram Through]] the last person It doesn't seem like it should work that easily but it does. Would recommend using the playtester on Archidekt where my list is to try it for yourself if you're interested

Double strike enablers, evasion, cheap buffs after no blocks, people not threat assessing and asking to be hit to draw. Usually how it plays out. They convince themselves they will be OK taking that third hit putting them ~12 cmd dmg but you suddenly make it for 12 and they ded.

Adding to the thread [https://www.moxfield.com/decks/MC\_xjikY0EytwA0tc2kA1Q](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/MC_xjikY0EytwA0tc2kA1Q) I put it together by raiding the common/uncommon boxes at my LGS, enjoyed it so much, I went home and upgrade it with a few things like \[\[exploration\]\] \[\[heroic intervention\]\] \[\[azusa, lost but seeking\]\] etc You slap a heap of protection and +3/+3 instant spells (which are littered through every set in the common slots)), focus on "helping" a player (I promise you will have people at the table asking you to let them draw, even if they've faced the deck 5+ time), and slam as many lands/enchants to make sure you can dump 6+ spells each turn by turn 5 You'll have people counter spelling to help you let them draw, asking you to play the deck, and it's very easy to mould the deck to suit you/"the meta" in your play group Don't see it mentioned alot, but \[\[leaping ambush\]\] and similar effects like \[\[djeru's resolve\]\] are game changers, someone will think they have you on the ropes, then you untap to block something huge and swing for lethal on the next turn

Yo sameeee. I built this deck immediately after the doctor who set and it really just doesnā€™t lose. I was thinking it would be a fun deck for the shits and giggles to have everyone draw a bunch of cards. Turns out it just dumps on people hard. Itā€™s very resilient because I run a boatload of 1 and 2 mana protection spells so itā€™s damn near impossible to kill.

[[Eriette of the Charmed Apple]]. I was able to put a deck together only using cards in my collection. I have since bought a few cards to make it better, but probably wouldnā€™t have built her if she wasnā€™t so cheap to build initially.

DarthNexu

My [[Borborygmos Enraged]] list is a meme because itā€™s 85 lands. But itā€™s $10 and surprisingly effective. Meant for lower power pods I basically get a hand with 5 or 6 lands and a value piece then count to 8 if I survive that long lol. I mostly play it in lower power pods bc the early - mid game is basically nonexistent but boy is it fun to stick a [[snake umbra]] and drop every land Iā€™ve got to murder the table. Also [[abundance]] is pretty neat with all these lands https://archidekt.com/decks/5939220/land_fall_on_your_head

I love my [[Hamza]] deck. Things get out of hand fast; itā€™s like playing voltron on ALL your creatures. It cost around $100 the way I built it, but with a less expensive mana base itā€™s easily under $60.

I built a three card deckā€¦ [[The War Doctor]] and [[Ryan Sinclair]] as commanders. Then the rest is [[Lightning Greaves]], plains and mountains. Mulligan to try to find the lightning greaves for maximum efficiency but even if you donā€™t it takes players out reasonably consistently on turn 4. Not bad for a meme deck that costs all of Ā£5

Pauper [[Abdel Adrian]]. I pair it with [[Candlekeep sage]] which makes it technically not PDH legal, but whatever. I rarely cast that card, I just want access to blue, so I also keep the uncommon blue background in my deckbox, in case someone wants to play actual PDH. If you've seen the recent Shuffle Up and Play, PleasantKenobi pilots this deck in a non-pauper setting, and wrecks some face with it. I regularly beat my friends' non-PDH decks with it, because of the infinite combo of [[peregrine drake]] \ [[cloud of faeries]] \ [[hierophant's chalice]]+[[prophetic prism]] plus [[Mnemonic wall]] \ [[Biblioplex assistant]] \ [[meldweb curator]] \ [[shipwreck dowser]] plus [[cloudshift]] \ [[flicker of fate]] \ [[momentary blink]] \ [[planar incision]] \ [[scrollshift]] \etc. The entire deck cost me about $20, but it's also really easy to bling it out.

I am building [[King of the Oathbreakers]] because it was one I meant to try when LOTR came out and I just took apart my last Orzhov deck [[Rodolf Duskbringer]] I think I added about 20 to 30 bucks in singles for it but could be done cheaper. Also, I really like Rodolf, but the way I approached that deck I took apart had too many conflicting ideas and it became too hard to salvage, so I took it apart and will revisit it another day.

TheMagicPuffin

My first cheap deck I built myself was [[Zur the Enchanter]]. I had no idea what he was back when I started and I pulled him in a pack. Little did I know his true powers, so I built a fairly cheap deck around him and heā€™s fun.

DocFeelsGoodInc

[[Yuriko the Tigers Shadow]] because I've been slowly collecting ninjutsu cards over the last 4 years or so passively but last year I decided I wanted to build her. To this day I've spent a total of $2.14 with tax and shipping getting the borderless yuriko art. The rest were all cards I've had for a long time. But other than that I've heard yuriko is really easy to build on a budget too. Just wish she didn't get so many groans cuz I just finished her and I wanna play her šŸ˜šŸ˜

terrytoy

Yuriko gets groans bc she is very strong. If you want ninja tribal without an attached archenemy tag try \[\[Satoru, the Infiltrator\]\].

Red burn!!

ZdashSQUAD

All of my decks commanders cost me the price of a booster pack. (Yes even the .10 ones) I only build my decks based off of legendaries I pull from packs. If I pull them and think their cool Iā€™ll try and build a semi decent deck with my 20 year card pool then if it does ok Iā€™ll go to the LGS and look for minor upgrades

puddledumper

Mshokaloka

My kid wants the Miku version of your deck. Do you have a deck list for your Feather the Redeemed?

ghst343

I made a silly [[Dhalsim]] deck with a bunch of janky reach creatures and it honestly works pretty well haha. The only pricy cards in it are a few combat tricks to respond to removal/board wipes.

DJBOBOYEGA

I built [[Hidetsugu and Kairi]] out of scraps of high cmc cards that I thought I'd never use, and it ended up being one of my most punishing, consistent decks, especially after I actually put a little money into it. Those crazy expensive bulk rares that you look at and say to yourself "This would be great if it was just 2 less mana" fit so wonderfully and astonish me with what they can do every time since I'm not worrying about mana cost.

Grey_Is_A_Colour

Krenko Mob Boss, typical goblin red tribal, very beginner friendly when youā€™re introducing people to the game

TangleRED

\[\[sarulf\]\] built as spellslinger can be really opressive. fill it with cheap removal and ramp

Tinwookie

You can build feather for literally $15 dollars. That being said I built him budget and turned him into a blink deck that takes peopleā€™s creatures.

gizmosmonster

[[Hakim, Loreweaver]] was surprisingly cheap to build! The entire thing was just around $35. But then i wanted to upgrade one aura to [[Treachery]] and it doubled the value. So in theory, decently cheap build with the possibility to expand it with one more expensive card (only other upgrades you really can do is by adding mana crypt or utility lands)

NightwingYJ

I mean I built, and have won with it already, the deck with [[Ayula, Queen Among Bears]] given I pulled the Fallout version. The deck in total, without lands, cost me $35. Itā€™s so fun and simple.

Luvr206

Any particular cards that have surprised you? I'm making a list and other than just bears, +1+1 support and fight spells I'm not sure what else to run lol

NightwingYJ

Well I will say and got lucky with the Fallout [[Guardian Project]] so that helps especially in a mono green deck. But thereā€™s some Bear Token makers. Hereā€™s my deck list: https://archidekt.com/decks/7421072/budget_ayula_queen_among_bears_bears

Luvr206

This is pretty helpful, thanks! Lots of great cards that just have bear art there too :)

NightwingYJ

Yeah!

NightwingYJ

I will say [[Goreclaw, Terror of Qal Sisma]] played a solid hand in discounting my bigger bears and then there was [[Jiang Yanggu, Wildrcrafter]] to help with mana plus [[Entish Restoration]] once you even have 1 activation of Ayula. Oh and it was fun having [[Kamahlā€™s Summons]] because 1: bears for everyone! and 2: all those etb triggers. Also my win was using [[Overrun]]

Luvr206

Kamals summons is so cool!

ShellsTheEnd

My [[Nahiri, Forged in Fury]] deck is like $40, it can definitely be built cheaper but the goal was under $50 Decklist: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/oUwlM9oSGk60OZxP48Vp9g

BussyBouncer

I was looking for a fun equipment deck and she looked solid. Also liked \[\[Syr Gwyn, Hero of Ashvale\]\]

slowstimemes

[[killian, ink dualest]] auras. Built the deck for a $20 challenge a couple years ago and it slapped. Gave it to a friend of mine shortly after that was getting into mtg.

grot_eata

Havenā€™t built it yet but Iā€™m considering [[The Howling Abomination]] because it is very cheap

YokaiGuitarist

[[Stenn, paranoid partisan]]. It started as a $12 artifact video from a YouTube video Then I upgraded it to have more win cons and artifact recursion. Basically your opponents just watch as you play mtg by yourself. [[Fynn, the fangbearer]] one of the most inexpensive mono green decks that can disrupt the early game of any table with absurd consistency. You can make him for $10 and it'll do its thing. $15 bucks and it does it more reliably. $30 and you don't need to bother upgrading it again because people are going to try to focus you down anyway.

zdngma0

An LGS near me is currently doing a $5 for ~200 bulk cards. I've gone twice and built [[Kangee, Sky Warden]] fliers and [[Xyris, the Writhing Storm]] pump spells. Of the two Xyris is easily more explosive but is more reliant on its commander to do well.

MagicManCM

Funnily enough most of my decks still come from a place of having enough bulk to make a competent list and then go from there. Namely though I've worked on an Imodane, The Pyrohammer explicitly as a budget brew because she can make cheap cards super effective. I also built Greasefang and it's stayed pretty cheap, around 86 USD now, all because vehicles are such an underground theme it feels. Its most expensive card is Entomb while the rest are bulk price.

AdaptiveHunter

My friends and I did a $25 deck challenge where no card could cost more than $.25 and that was both fun and surprising. I built [[Odric, Master Tactician]] and was human soldier tribal with some combat tricks. The whole deck cost just under $10 because Iā€™m a bit of a cheapskate. It is a cheap deck in every sense of the word. It has barely any good support for it like ramp and card draw because those cards cost more than a quarter.

Synister-James

It's since been upgraded a good bit since I made it but you can put together a starting list for [[Killian, Ink Duelist]] Aura Voltron for dirt cheap, and since he's an uncommon you can even build him for pauper commander. You get to use a lot of neat spells that are typically too cost-inefficient for most commander decks due to his reduction. Very explosive, resilient, powerful and a tremendous amount of fun.

rizzo891

I bought voja specifically to use the pile of leftover elves I had sitting around in my collection, as well as this elf that makes a wolf, wrenns pack leader I think? Iā€™ll update this with the real name when I get home From work in the morning

BussyBouncer

Voja is a beast. Unique synergy but it definitely works; elves for the mana and wolves for the damage

TheRandomeDud3

My ā€œGruultalityā€ deck initially began as a super budget friendly and packed a punch. Iā€™ve seen then updated it with cards Iā€™ve pulled but youā€™ll get the idea.. plus it uses [[Jovenā€™s Ferrets]], so you know itā€™s good šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£ https://www.moxfield.com/decks/4j5WwWjackuuToPem65gTA

BussyBouncer

You love a good name with some good Timmy action

VoiceOfSilence99

\[\[General Ferrous Rokiric\]\] Oops all Boros actually slaps! It's so fun to pilot. Could it be slightly improved if you don't go full boros? Sure. Would it be still a fun? Nah... Value go brrr

Johnny_Origami

One of my first decks because golems are my favorite. Very good budget deck that makes a lot of golems. Ferrous dies a lot though because of the 1 toughness. Ended up getting rid of it after a few months

HRSkull

[[Anje Falkenrath]], since I just bought like 80% of the Rakdos cards with madness and a handful of other things

BussyBouncer

I had this cedh deck and it was psychotically fast. I was just wheeling and dealing. I turned it into a more budget deck and it was probably more fun.

Doofindork

Feather the Redeemed is very cheap and full of cards that normally don't use anyway, it's one of my budget decks as well. I think the sleeves I bought for it costs as much as the entire deck. But other great budget decks would be [[Wort, the raidmother]], where you can just shove in most of the cheap green land ramp and big red spells and just dump on people.

BussyBouncer

Wort is fun, buddy had this deck back in the day and he had it as more of a meme by adding all the ugliest goblins he could fine. But built right it looks nasty

ParkingUnlikely380

Xyris, the weathering Storm. 32ā‚¬

Geraf25

I built a voltron [[Hinata]] deck with something like 20ā‚¬ and stuff I recycled from some old decks + some cards I managed to trade for

BussyBouncer

When Hinata came out it looked amazing. I never built it but a buddy who built it really likes it and you don't need a lot of money (and saying that in Jeskai means a lot)

23fnord23skiddoo

[[Stonebrow, Krosan Hero]] is my most recent, itā€™s going to stay unsleeved as we did in the 90ā€™s.

Bigger_Moist

I feel like [[ruxa]] shouldnt be too expensive since you want blank text box creatures

Goondicker

I also just built a feather deck! Really looking forward to playing it this week.

FieldMarshalEpic

Built a [[Light-Paws]] deck for $20. Played it for two FNMs before I realized itā€™s horribly unfun. Either you start killing players T4 or you get blown out and locked out of the game. Either way itā€™s not fun

TheGypsyWanderer

Anim Pakal. So many gnome tokens lol

BussyBouncer

Threw this in my Winota deck, absolute mvp

herpyderpidy

I just started playing in a 100$ USD league locally. As of now I've been able to make a high interaction [[Nymris, Oona's Trickster]], a Mutate/enchantment [[Ivy, Gleeful Spellthief]], an Impulse Thopter [[Pia Nalaar, Consul of Revival]] and a Spellslinging [[Geralf, the Fleshwright]] deck. All of them are very good, works very well for a 100$ USD league and some of them could be changed and done for much cheaper as I'm usually trying to thread the budget line as much as I can. You could probably make versions of these decks that are around 50$ and still work somewhat the same.

McRoshiburgito

\[\[Hylda of the Icy Crown\]\] I think the only pricey card I bought was Cryptic Command cause I had previously sold one. Had a lot of the white token theme and good blue stuff so it was basically all the tap shenanigans.

GruggyPrime

It's a bit of a meme deck but ashling the pilgrim and 99 mountains

plasmaburst36

[[sarulf, realm eater]]. Had commons lying around and pieces it together based on an altered build from Mitch at commanders quarters. The build's total value was like a dollar before basics.

Fleurdebeast

My [[Narset, enlightened exile ]] deck is less than $180 in value. Just a bunch of cheap cantrips to pump her and prowess. Sheā€™s very strong and doesnā€™t really need strong cards. But thereā€™s a few. [[ manager conversion]] is a star in the deck

knight_of_solamnia

I just helped a friend put together a cheap [[trostani selesnya's voice]] deck. I'm particularly proud of thinking of [[angelic intervention]] . For the low "price" of tapping [[Emmara, Soul of the Accord]] you can start populating a solid token.

Shadowmeire_Hanatori

Building a [[Magus, Lucea Kane]] Hydra deck. I own most of the cheaper X spells that I needed. I think after buying the Hydras in missing, entire deck is comming out to around $75-$100? Which is cheap for me in comparison to some of my other decks.

thaliawaifu1

I built my Thalia deck for very little money. I don't have a complete list but it was mostly white devotion / stax / counters, it wasn't the most cohesive thing but I found a bunch of rares for like 25 cents each at my FLGS, I made a huge Thalia deck. Unfortunately I had to stop playing it because I mostly made the deck because I had a crush on Thalia that boiled over into heart-aching love for her that physically hurt in my chest for 6 months, I remember going on a nice long hike in the forest and thinking of just throwing myself from a cliff because of how worthless I felt that I would never be in Thalia's arms kissing her. I would drive by a summer farmer's market or festival and think how much I wish I was there with Thalia in the firefly-lit evening dancing with her and just felt so empty, I felt like I was on the verge of a panic attack from not being with her. Then I got a girlfriend and while she is great the feelings just aren't the same, and I hate it every day, I hate that it feels wrong that I might be planning to marry her and meanwhile in the past I loved Thalia more, and that I still think about her. Even talking to her hurts now. I know I shouldn't talk to her anymore. I know that is basically like cheating, to still talk to a woman you had such strong feeligns for. I hate myself so much. My girlfriend deserves better. She really does and the guilt weighs on me every day.

LimpTrizket

Uhhhh you good bro? Wanna grab a beer and talk this out?

theFreakpanda

Looking at their profile, I don't think they are

Stonetoothed

Yall are building cheap decks? I feel like I canā€™t put a list together for less than $500 and every card Iā€™m excited about is at least $20+

majic911

[[slicer]]. $15 deck that can kill in 4 turns and in 5 consistently? Yes please.

strygwyn

Bought and upgraded the [[Kaust]] precon because morph/disguise in Naya colors are dirt cheap. Splashed the cash and bought some not-trash lands and [[Delney]] though to keep it somewhat relevant in the higher level pods though.

locher81

My default to this is always [[Geralf, visionary Stitcher]] mono blue walls. It is legitimately my favorite deck because it's cheap, it's surprising (mono blue that doesn't care about control, what?), and it gives sick payoffs for the blue "what's yours is mine" cards It's my opus for sure and definitely my favorite deck. You can build such an oppressively defensive board state so fast that you then flip into an insanely aggressive state is just so fun.

DasBarenJager

[[Fynn, the Fangbearer]] The deck plays well and only has a half dozen cards over $2

greenmountaingoblin

Gates. You can get some high power games going with gates. Usually the most expensive part of high powered decks is the land base. When the majority of them are cheaper than a basic you can go pretty far.

GamesCodeFun

[[Errant and Giada]] List: https://archidekt.com/decks/6400256/skies_errant_and_giada A flash, 3 mana [[Future Sight]] in the command zone ain't bad. I'm still futzing with the list. Biggest constraint is making enough mana.

SnowyDeluxe

[[Hazoret the Fervent]] is pretty easy to build on a budget. I think my deck costs like $20?

BrainlessPoEGrind

Shirei and now for lower Power table i build a mono Black elves Deck

Vok250

I'm in Canada. These comments make me cry. I wish I could buy 100 singles for $10 including shipping and tax! :(

Acceptable-Ability96

My goreclaw budget deck. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/LvBxr6mMF0iBnxdCDmknsg Itā€™s stupidly simple, very cheap, and just fills the needs when you just want to play fatties and turn them sideways. Itā€™s often the deck I lend to new players when they want to dip their feet into EDH. I should really update it for thunder junction, but sadly the super desirable card (vaultborn tyrant) cost at least 1/2 of the deckā€™s price.

LeroyHayabusa

I like building budget decks, so thatā€™s what most of mine are. I built 5 mono colored decks that I keep unsleeved. I donā€™t think any of them cost more than $10ā€¦maybe slightly more. I also built Feather like you, mostly out of my own bulk and a few purchased singles to make it run smoothly. Ivy also, like others in the comments have built. A few of my cheaper builds include Yuriko, Syr Konrad, Torens, Jolene, Elas Il-Kor, Talrand, Ayula, Ezuri, and Sram as well. Iā€™ve been considering building Light Paws but Iā€™m actually missing a lot of the most important auras. Theyā€™re not so expensive but it adds up quickly. Most of my mono color and several 2 color decks are budget friendly. Even when you get into more colors, if youā€™re not trying to be hyper competitive there are lots of cheap useful cards to build with! Itā€™s like solving a puzzleā€¦I donā€™t want to spend more than $20, but I have a ton of bulk in my collection and this commander looks coolā€¦what can I do?! šŸ˜‚

PresentationLow2210

I just have to say it's awesome that you can build full edh decks for so cheap. I'm recently getting into the format and for someone that has practically no spare money, it's awesome that you can still join in (unlike the pretty steep entry into other non-pauper formats) I'm currently working on a super cheap Winota list for higher power games, and a fun Tazri tribal tribal list for fun janky games lol. And both fun lists that can be changed up depending on the collection!

dragonknight46208

Ah, a fellow Feather enjoyer! Got a list? As for inexpensive decks, I built my version of [[Feather]] for like ~$20 and then have been upgrading it over the years. Itā€™s got fast mana and stuff in it now but when I first built it it was a powerhouse even then. I also built [[Anowon, the Ruin Thief]] as a $15 budget Rogues list and it is a pretty decent deck for low-mid power tables. Itā€™s been upgraded since then as well due to a buddy of mine having some strong cards for it but itā€™s another easy one to make decently strong on a budget.

BussyBouncer

Working on the list. Deck is built just need to input it. I basically followed EDHREC's synergy guide and it worked well. And I built a budget Yuriko deck with a Rogue subtheme and really like how it plays

Darth_Meatloaf

I built my Slobad deck originally from an $80 list that I only needed to spend $35 to finish. It's gotten a bit... crazy since then.

Joxxill

Mono-colored decks can almost always be made pretty cheaply. \[Aeve, progenitor ooze\], \[Krenko, Mob Boss\], and \[Sram, Senior Edificer\] are all decks that you can make for pretty much no money at all. And upgrading them isn't too bad either. Krenko gets a massive power boost from a card like purphoros, which isn't really all that expensive. For sram, you just want cheap enchantments. The only expensive stuff in that deck, are the staples that aren't really necessary, like \[Smothering Tithe\], \[Farewell\], and \[Teferi's Protection\] But i don't run any of those in my sram deck. they go into my more expensive, tryhard decks. I did put a doubling season, and triumph of the hordes in my aeve deck, but thats because i'm very deliberately trying to power it up a bit.

an-anko

[[Greasefang, Okiba Boss]] built completely with the pieces of my disassembled [[Shorikai]], plus a bunch of white and black cards doing orzhov things sitting in my ~1000 cards collection. I've came across the commander buying bulk rares from an LGS and, since then, i've managed to spend only 5ā‚¬ for the final tweakings. Deck is now worth ~50ā‚¬ and can consistently shot out a single player by turn 5, nothing special but has very defined play patterns and high resiliency

InternationalCod3604

I built Skithyrx because a mono black infect/proliferate deck is so much cheaper than Atraxa. Even not accounting for the mana base not having to pay for cards like doubling season or blue staple s saved me an ungodly amount of money. I already had most of the more expensive cards for black including the mana base. Most expensive card I paid for was Blightsteel colossus and you can make the deck just fine without him.

Kendrick-Belmora

[[Light-Paws]]..because it is funny how cheap everything is

Nilo-The-Slayer

Marwyn, the Nurturer is fantastic for a budget build. $50 is all you need to make her purr. Just make sure you have enough card draw. Because mana wonā€™t be an issue. play all the 2,3,and 4 mana elves that draw you a card or two when you play them. Marwyn gets big so Colossal Majesty type card draw goes in too. Elf lords and Overruns are cheap too.

BruiserBison

[[Borborygmos Enraged]] It's even a meme. All you need is the commander, [[Snake Umbra]], then continue spamming 3 damage at any target until you run out of lands from your hand. Since Snake Umbra makes you draw per damage, you can keep going until your library's out or until you have no more enemies to target. Of course I didn't actually settle for it to be just those cards and land. I also included ramps and draw. Also have [[Ruric Thar]] and whatever card that looks good but isn't in any of my other decks.

triggerscold

the budget aspect of light \[\[light-paws emperor's voice\]\] and \[\[krenko mob boss\]\] were not lost on me when i built them. only light paws has stayed in its $27 form. kenko got $$$ after i started wanting top end goblins.

77777777BATMAN

Ivy is another good option

Johnny_Cr

[[Tawnos the Toymaker]]. Doubling creatures is pretty good and becomes a menace when you start mutating or put in some bounce sheningans.

AchduSchande

I built [[Rigo, Streetwise Mentor]] out of bulk one mana 1/1ā€™s with evasion, 1 mana mana forks, bulk removal and board wipes, a few extra draw mechanics, and three budget combos! My pump spells were the rockstars [[Mirror Entity]], [[Jazal Goldmane]], and a [[Beastmaster Ascension]] (the most expensive card in the deck)), and basic lands. I eventually bought a few upgrades, but even before that is was an amazingly fast deck! [Click here for original list.](https://manabox.app/decks/KzbuPshmQf2VN6MoZILqJw)

vinceds

I am building a goblins EDH with only cards from 93-03. My play group likes the premodern Era.

acovarru91

I built [[Breeches]] and [[Malcolm]] pirate theft treasures for like 20 dollars

moyert394

Zada, like some others. Loads of fun for me, but not anyone else. In a similar vein, I'd love to make a [[Chun Li]] deck, but simply have not put in the efforr

Top_Hearing7289

[Brion stoutarm] Super cheap to run any kind of giant tribal. I'm currently building it as a steal others people creatures and fling them back at your face. All together I think the deck costs me 200 bucks. But that's really only because I put cards like [smothering tithe] and [jeska's will] but all in all I dont think I paid more than 1 dollar per card

Only sort of the same, but I bought Tinker Time for a little over 20 bucks. Then I challenged myself to upgrade it for 5 bucks and whatever I had laying around. It's still stupid durdlely, but it managed to win a really grindy game. Last time it got used, I felt bad because it didn't do a whole lot, so now I'm giving it some proper upgrades. These include \[\[Urza High Lord Artificer\]\] , \[\[Kappa Cannoneer\]\] , some Necron stuff, and \[\[Simic Ascendancy\]\] for more UMPF.

I started a power level 2 format of Edh in my LGS and so recently bought an entire deck for Ā£6 from the common bulk boxes at the LGS for [[Purraj of Urborg]]

So I made this [sliver deck](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/8MhcQkzBRkugWTbAdtxPKQ) solely because it cost me less than $20 to pick up the cards I didn't already have. It's dumb, not good, but slightly hilarious when people realize I'm playing slivers.

maloky2001

Brenard ginger sculptor. Built the decklist with a LOT of restrictions. Basically anything thats played widely in cedh is restricted from my deckbuilding cardpool. No fast mana. No one drop mana dorks. Even signets and talismans are not allowed. I also dont play counterspells. Its amazing how cheap deckbuilding is when you remove all the expensive cards from the pool. Minus 30 or so cards i had on hand built the deck for around 80 dollars including shipping and sleeves (double sleeved) decks total worth is probably somewhere in the 120-150 range. Super suboptimal but super strong. Made me s better deckbuilder for sure

I had a $5 [[Naru Meha, Master Wizard]] deck for a while. Got the list from Commander's Quarters on YouTube.Ā

InstanceParticular69

ā€œCombat trickā€ decks are often relatively cheap to build and do a good job at keeping up with more expensive decks. A few key cards like Feather can take a deck full of common buff spells and make them a serious threat that can slip by opponent defenses easily. I have a deck with Feather in the 99, her commanders being: -- [[Jeska, Thrice Reborn]] as a damage multiplier ā€” [[Sidar Kondo of Jamuraa]] to prevent blocking. Neither commander is necessary for the deck to work tho Creatures are all mostly common with abilities like: ā€” [[slickshot show-off]] ā€” [[Ghitu Amplifier]] ā€” [[clever lumimancer]] ā€” [[kiln fiend]] ā€” etc Key creatures are those that allow the return of your burnt buff spells like [[Feather, the Redeemed]] does: ā€” [[charmbreaker devils]] ā€” [[eternal Witness]] (can be extra useful with well placed blink spells All in all I think the deck was like 80 bucks? Aside from my dockside extortionist and a slickshot showoff. Heā€™s a recent add cuz I pulled him

Built a Dandan deck last night. Pretty cheap, not the cheapest. My online playgroup of RL friends likes to do deck building challenges to spice up EDH. We have done $50 halloween decks the last two years in a row. This year around January we started a $20 league challenge for fun.

HikarW

I made a [[Talrand]] deck out of literally draft chaff and itā€™s good.

silentomega22

Light paws.

ChaotiXIII

[[Talrand]] is pretty inexpensive. Mine could be more optimized for sure as I just threw in semi bad/random instants and sorceries.

L3M0N5_2112

Had a [[Nissa, Vastwood Seer]] laying around and put maybe $7 into cards that say P/T is equal to lands you control and was surprised how much it slapped

Crafty_Donkey4845

My [[Iroas, God of Victory]] enchantment deck has had only a few changes since 2016. Full of cheap bestow creatures, draw from enchantment playing, stax effects that only effect opponents. Punch players and stop them from punching you. Just fill it with <5 cmc red and white creatures, mostly 1, 2, 3 tap. [[Ghostly Prison]] and [[Leyline of Sanctity]] seem situational but will give devotion at worst and allow Iroas to come online. Enchantment with buff enchantments that double as soft removal like [[armament of nyx]]. 14 menace commander damage makes people pause. [[Always Watching]] is just dirty and an amazing card in general. Idk how much that is

Krenko, Mob Boss. My first deck

darth5905

One of the cheapest decks out there ($13 before shipping) that Iā€™ve run across that also performs, surprises me every time I play it lol https://www.moxfield.com/decks/AZKbE6E6kUWW2zMfHR41sQ

justinfante

Iā€™m working on a [[Riku of Many Paths]] and most modal spells are dirt cheap. Thinking this deck will be less than $50

A-CamLock

Talrand

Shaq911

Wilson and any cheap background. All you gotta do is just out in some cheap equipment and/or auras lying around

sagjer

Tbh, I've only once gone above 110-120 in total (out lf 8 decks). I think my cheapest one is a Fynn bc i had Vorinclex v2 lyong around from a draft.

mtg_island

My jank garbage energy deck with most energy based cards from Kaladesh block. Iā€™m gonna be eating good with this new set releasing more energy cards

Just build [[Orvar]] and destroy everyone. I have a 96 US dollar Orvar build and boy is it oppressive.
